In the state of play video you can see the ability menu and it looks like there are alot of basic ifrit powers. Hold square to light your sword on fire, and some button combo attacks, a new dodge animation and so on. In case anyone was wondering!
The combat in this game looks amazing. I've never played a final fantasy. More of a soulsborne/ nioh person myself. But with everything I've seen so far, I haven't been this excited for a game since elden ring.

But yes, in general, I really enjoy the humanities. I follow politics keenly – in fact, there is some chance I might have some thoughts on your country’s politics – and I’d say I am on the centre-left – pro-choice, in favour of a robust welfare state, LGBTQ+ rights, affirmative action. If you know about Brazilian politics, I voted for Marina and Haddad in 2018 (the voting age here is 16), and Lula last year.
As you can imagine, I also really enjoy reading and writing. Besides poetry, I have often thought about reading a novel, but this seems like too much work – and it seems that it would be arrogant of me to write a novel having lived this little. I really enjoy learning about other languages and cultures and I know a bit of French, German, Spanish, and Russian, besides English and Portuguese. I am into genealogy and I have helped a few friends with it. I also really enjoy TV shows and cinema, and I am easily brought to tears. Landscape Difficulty: The Paths of Valour!

We have reworked the Landscape Difficulty setting system introduced with Treebeard and are now opening it to the general game worlds as an option! Read full details about this new Landscape Difficulty option in the release notes below.​ A new Faction and new rewards are now available by playing these higher difficulties. Activate your difficulty and adjust it in the future by speaking with a Hardened Traveller, which can be found in major hubs and new player zones throughout Middle-earth:

There are titles available for activating a difficulty of 3 or higher and keeping it there from level 10 to level 50, and then to level 130 respectively. The title granted depends on the class you play, but can be used by any character on your account. Make sure to select your Landscape Difficulty prior to achieving level 10 to be eligible for these titles! In order to earn these titles, you must keep the difficulty system active for the entire leveling span from level 10 thru 50/130. Entering areas of the game world where it is temporarily suppressed will not invalidate your title attempt, however turning it down or off via the Hardened Traveller will.

2023.05.30 21:00 thechetearly Thoughts on TOTK from the perspective of a bad gamer and a Souls-borne fanboy

Back in 2017, I found myself getting back into video games after well over a decade of having no interest. I’d seen enough YouTube footage of “Breath of the Wild”, and it convinced me to buy a Switch, and my first two games were BOTW and Skyrim.
BOTW absolutely blew me away. From the landscapes, to the exploration, everything just felt like magic. Skyrim did the same. I was astounded that these worlds.
Fast forward a few years, and I stumbled across the God of War 2018 documentary, watched it in full (having never played any GOW game), and went out to buy a used PS4 that same week.
Since then, I’ve had a pretty stacked back catalog, not to mention all of the new releases that have come along. A few months after the PS5 came out I was somehow able to snag one (via EB Games Canada).
After playing over 40 games (a good mix of both first party and third party games) on my PS4 and PS5, and then buying and playing Tears of the Kingdom, I find myself with big mixed feelings. While BOTW was the game that got me back into gaming, I don’t find myself with that same sensation of awe and wonder with TOTK.
I am not good at video games. In fact, I would say I might even be pretty darn bad at them. When I bought my PS5, it came with the PS+ Collection. In that catalogue was Bloodborne. The only thing I had heard about Bloodborne and “souls games” up to that point was that they are incredibly difficult, and really only for “good gamers”. I watched a few reviews, and decided that, while I am not a “good gamer”, I thought the aesthetic was pretty sick, so I wanted to give it a shot.
From there on out, Souls-borne games have been my absolute jam. I’ve put over 100 hours into Elden Ring, and have played most of the modern FromSoftware entries.
What I’ve come to realize in trying to enjoy TOTK, is that I desperately want that same level up power fantasy that you get from a general souls-game. Grinding all of those Shrines for hearts or stamina, or getting cool weapons only for them to break after killing a handful of enemies, just feels completely empty to me, and the constant need to craft, craft, craft I just find terribly tedious. I’m not sure I’ve ever spent so much time in menus than I have with TOTK.
Anyways, that’s my short, but probably too long, take on TOTK. Souls games have ruined me, and seem to have (at least temporarily) put a stopper on my enjoyment on TOTK.
I’m sure I’ll go back to it at some point, but I’m also so curious to know if other people feel the same. Did you get back into gaming with BOTW, and if so, are you able to appreciate TOTK as much as you did BOTW?

Hi. I'm looking to talk to new people, maybe make a friend
They are:
History, especially the 19th-20th century but with more broad and general knowedge in other time periods. I'm not an expert or anything but I am pretty passionate about it and tend to read/listen about one event or the other on a pretty regular basis.
Literature, especially old novels. I recently read Demian (my all time favourite book), Day of the Oprichnik, Heart of Darkness, the Perfume and Little Prince. Currently started reading Blood Meridian. Some of my other favourite works would include: "The Picture of Dorian Gray", "Faust part I" (need to get to part II) and "No Longer Human". I also like to write short stories and book reviews. I'd also really like to read the same book with someone and discuss it. For reference my next book will probably be Oliver Twist
Languages. I know three, with one being a bit rusty. I'm currently working to scrape off the rust and then when I'm finished with that will begin to learn a fourth language. It's fun to go through different works in multiple languages. For example, I read the aforementioned Faust part I in all three.
Games. I recently played Cyberpunk 2077. Now that the dust has settled and the bugs mostly removed...It's not that bad! The main questline at least, Fallout 76 (Very average, I'm dissapointed with what they made the "RPG" system) and will try out Deus Ex Manking Divided again ( Got inspired since it's somewhat similar to Cyberpunk). I was waiting to play Elden Ring but it ended being too stressful for me. Go here and get beaten up go there and get beaten up, repeat...Besides that I'm a big fan of Paradox strategy games...like EU IV and HoI IV (also thinking of making my own project for HoI IV). I am definitely looking forward to try out Victoria III, after they add more content to it. I also got Modern Warfare 2, since the first MW had great multiplayer gameplay.
Anime and Manga. In recent times my interest has waned but I still watch the occasional series here and there. Like Cyberpunk Edgerunners (Which I found to be rather mediocre) and the very good new season of Bleach. Some other favourites include: Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Death Note, Fate;Zero, Psycho Pass , Higurashi (season 2 is a bit weak but the first one is a masterpiece of horror), Code Geass, Attack on Titan and others. My favourite Manga is Berserk...I hope it gets a good ending..the first couple of new chapters were...a bit rough but the new author seems to have got his footing.
Anyway, that should be enough information to give you a good picture... Before I go, I would like to ask for you to include the title of the last book you read in your reply. A small request, I feel. I'll be ignoring those that don't.
