We've shifted away from the world of sociopathic Wall Street organized crime and are calling for a new symbolic street. A street that represents the new market! The only thing we hate more than oligarchs are discriminatory oligarchs. We want the new Wall Street to be "8 Mile Road", Detroit Michigan. We want two divided groups of people in a late great city to unite around an old dividing line to form a new center of commerce for the new free market!

2023.06.01 03:32 waterbottl3sarecool My week plan

So here's my plan right now for the summer, im a first year wrestler going into freshman season trying to get as good as I can for next season, hopefully making varsity and or qualfying for states. As of right now I am working on getting weights and strength training, aswell as going 3-4 times a week to my club, but money and time is a little tight for all that so its kinda hard to get even one of them. So I'm working right now with pushups, situps, squats and the kettlebells I have and the time I have at practice.
Here's the schedule
Monday: Distance cardio: 3.25 miles (usually in the morning) + arms and back ( 660 pushups, standard, diamond, decline. Biceps workout and rows for back) and usually a open mat if I can get it in.
Tuesday: Explosive cardio: Hills sprints (15) and 50 m sprints down and back (8) (usually till I gas out. Then a leg workout with squats using kettle bells (3x15), lunges with body weight (100), and weight lunge walks (3x15). I also usually have a practice this day aswell
Wensday: same as Monday, but I may or may not have a practice this day
Thursday: same as Tuesday, but I usually have a practice this day.
Friday: same as monday, no practice, just shadow wrestling and drilling on my own
Saturday: same as Tuesday no practice
Sunday: heavy rest day.
That was a lot, but does anyone think im overtraining? I want to maximize my summer so just wanna make sure. Also if anyone has any Ideas of what I should add to increase performance I would appreciate it! Thank you!

2023.06.01 03:27 revodew Which Model to Buy?

I'll start by saying I've owned a 1995 YJ 4cyl 5spd manual on 33s and I will never go back to a 4cyl from that. I'm in a position to where I need a daily (15 miles a day roughly) and my fiancee wants me to get another jeep. My budget is max $12,000 and I have found a few jeeps that I am looking at and need some help on if they are worth it or not since prices have been all over the place recently.
Jeep 1: 1997 Jeep Wrangler w/ Hardtop 5spd manual 4.0L 122k miles (7400) OTD: Unknown Exterior: 8/10 Interior: 5/10 (Carpet is ripped everywhere, some tears in seats but covers fix that) Lowest mileage of the 3 but also oldest LED Headlights, looks like 31/32s with basic steel wheels which I do like, this one is 1.5 hours away
Jeep 2: 2010 JK with 3.8L V6 151k miles w/ Soft top 6spd manual ($10,500 (OTD $11250)
Exterior: 8/10
Interior: 9/10 Pristine condition on interior
Stock setup, only thing changed is a new soft top less than 2 years old about an hour from me
Jeep 3: 2015 JK with 3.6L V6 150k miles w/ Soft top 6spd manual $12,000 (Trying to get to $11k) Exterior 7/10
Interior: 7/10
On 35s already with wheels I don't like but that can be swapped out, also about a 4-5 hour drive from me.

Any help is greatly appreciated. I do love TJs but now after seeing some JKs in my price range, it has made me want to bump up but the 3.8L stories have me worried on the reliability.

2023.06.01 03:25 KeenAsMustard First endurance road bike - need help

A week ago I knew almost nothing about bike components or bike types. For a long time I thought there was no point of buying an expensive bike and that a below $1000 one was all I needed. Well, I was wrong. This sub helped me a lot in learning more about bikes and now I am able to narrow down my requirements:
  1. Budget - $1800-2300 (firm price; I would like to spend an additional $1000 on clothing and accessories - including a bike computer)
  2. Stance: mostly relaxed. Distance: 30+ miles. Bike only for exercising and just exploring the area. Height and weight: 6'3, 190.
  3. Location and road type: CT, MA, NY (day trips to VT, NH?) so I am guessing mostly paved roads with some smooth dirt roads
  4. Bike requirements - preferably Shimano 105; hydraulic brakes; 11-34 cassette, 50/34 crank; maybe >32mm tire clearance. Possible upgrade of handlebar and seat post to carbon down the road.
After a thorough research I ended up with 4 bikes that seem to check all the marks:
Here is a comparison: https://i.imgur.com/rqCkATD.png
I am also considering a Bianchi VIA NIRONE 7 even though it has a 10 speed GRX 400 and a crank 46/30. It doesn't really make much sense but the color is just too good!
What do you think about the bikes? I am planning to go on a LBS tour this weekend. What should I look and ask for?

2023.06.01 03:05 shycity606 Help me choose a bike!

I am looking to purchase my first bike and I am overwhelmed by the options. I live in Chicago and have just begun biking around places and I want to start biking to and from work.
I am hoping to spend under $600, mainly looking for a city/hybrid/commuter bike. I want it to sit fairly upright but not have too much of a cruiser vibe. My commute is 8 miles round trip, flat, but would like at least a 3 speed.
Would love any recommendations, below are the ones I've been looking at; -Electra Loft -Momentum Street -State bicycle co Azure -Public bikes
I also plan to get a front basket and would prefer to buy a bike with everything (fenders, racks, lights) already included but seems rare.
All recommendations are welcome!

2023.06.01 03:03 765098 8th grader declined enrolling in my HS program because of our DRUG POLICY

Tagged humor because if I don’t laugh then I don’t know what I’ll do
Context: I work at an alternative school for English learners. I’m a teacher but I also lead our assessment team and visit our feeder schools to conduct in-house assessments on rising 9th graders.
Today, I went to a school and met a kid who clearly did not need to attend our program. English is his dominant language and he’s been enrolled in schools here consistently for 8 years. He just isn’t testing out due to low reading comprehension or effort on the proficiency test.
Because he would not benefit much from our specialized language services, and we have a waitlist almost 200 kids long, my colleague and I told the student we are recommending him for his regular “home” school. We explained that he would not be challenged at our school because all the classes are focused on teaching English, and he already knows a lot of English.
He told us “that’s fine, I prefer it that way.” I repeated that he would be bored in class, and that most students in his position end up transferring out after the first year. Still said he’s fine with not being challenged. So then I told him that we’re not okay with having students who won’t benefit from being at our program when there’s so many other kids who really need help.
He just shrugged. My colleague then asked if he had any other questions about our program and he asked ”What’s your drug policy?” with a totally straight face.
I told him any kid found with drugs in the building is gone, sent to their regular home school. Our principal doesn’t play and we keep a very safe and healthy school culture.
This kid straight up told me “What?!?! For real? That’s ridiculous. I don’t think I wanna go there anymore.”
So he basically thought he could show up, do fucking nothing and be miles ahead because he speaks English, and do whatever drugs he wants while he’s here. His middle school teacher tried to talk him back into considering our program but his mind was made at that point.

2023.06.01 02:56 GIjohnMGS Possible bone density issues

Hello fellow Derp masters, I am in a dilemma. LONG STORY.
TL;DR what can I do to help/supplement bone density/growth?
Our 1 year old has had a series of broken bones over her short life and I'm asking for advice.
We got her at 8 weeks; happy puppy that sat funny. (right leg kicked out when sitting)
at 4 months old, while chasing an RC car, she broke her left front toe. (zigged when she should have zagged) Cast for 8 weeks.
During this time, we noticed a funny gait when she was walking/ running. When we followed up on her toe, we mentioned the funny gait. X-rays showed that her right femur had been broken at 2 growth plates, and that it healed funky (deformed). She still walks and runs funky but is VERY active (2-3 miles a day, walk/run/jump/play daily) We take her health seriously.
We were shocked! She's never been out of our sight and had NO trauma prior to the toe. (Hindsight reveals an old break from in-utero, birth, or stepped on as a newborn) Breeder denies any issues.
We dealt with it; however this past Saturday, while jumping to catch a bubble, she snapped her left tibia. Spiral fracture. It was a terrible experience.
Vets think we need to go to a $peciali$t (U-Penn) to diagnose/study/treat the issue. It is ridiculously expensive (10k plus according to the vet, and they may not have an answefix)
Is there anything that we can do for our Derp that can help with the healing process? I have an active email to 2 vets and Penn to ask for advice. No answers yet.
I've considered calcium supplements, multivitamins, etc, but won't pull the trigger without a Vet's blessing.
Any and all advice is welcomed and appreciated; we love this Derp to death and want the best.
Thanks in advance!

2023.06.01 02:42 walktheham I have dyscalculia and need help - Auto Lease Buyout vs. New Lease

I have dyscalculia (math learning disability), making anything involving numbers (and finances) impossible to comprehend. It is embarrassing. I've been struggling with my current vehicle situation for a while and have put off dealing with it. I've always leased my cars because I don't want the hassle of maintaining them, and I like getting a new car every three years. With the current car market, I'm lost on what to do. I could buy my current lease (a 2020 Jeep Cherokee, which is up June 2023) or lease something new. My car only has 18688 miles on it and is in pretty great condition regarding wear and tear. I like the car, though I'd like to get a new one for the above reasons. But I don't want to overpay for something I don't love or overpay for my 2020 car. I am trying to be smarter with these things. Here is what I have so far...
I called my current leasing company and was told the following:
The buyout price on my lease, as per the lease contract, is a little over 19K
1658.41 sales tax
The total financed would be 20925 at 8.89% interest/75 months for 365 a month (I also have to call my bank, a credit union, because their interest rate should be a little better).
If I purchase mechanical breakdown insurance, it will expire in 2027 and bring my monthly payment to $389
There is no pre-pay penalty.
To lease something new (another Jeep), I'd pay close to 4k down (tax/title/mv fees only) with a monthly payment in the high 300's. I priced a Jeep Compass today and didn't love it. The sticker price was 42k, and I got him down to 399 a month from 499 with 7500 miles per yea39-month/only tax title/MV fees down. He wouldn't break down what incentives I was getting on the deal, and he was pushing a model I didn't want, so I left.
(For the record, I pay 285 a month for my current lease. I put extra money down at the time to get that payment lower, which was probably dumb. Going from $285 to anything over $400 for another lease just doesn't feel good.
Are these deals similar? Does one make more sense financially? Am I making a huge mistake if I buy my current lease (or decide to lease something new)? I just don't know, and my brain cannot figure this out. Can anyone please help me? Thank you!

2023.06.01 02:09 Successful_Ride6920 O-Line in the NFC North

I was just looking through the draft picks of the Packers after reading an article about David Bakhtiari saying the Pack is in rebuilding mode. So then I looked at the picks of the other 3 teams in the division, and I could only see where, between the 4 teams, only 2 O-linemen were picked over the entire 7 rounds.
Do you find that odd, or is it me? Have teams mostly given up on finding O-linemen through the draft and mostly look for UDFA's, or maybe through free agency? Has the position been de-valued, sort of like how they say the RB position has been de-valued? Chicago had 10 picks & picked 1 in the 1st round, Detroit 8 & picked 1 in the 5th round, Green Bay 13 & picked 0, Minnesota 6 & picked 0.

2023.06.01 01:56 gonextcruise Shredded Serpentine Belt Due to Oil Leaking

Hey all, looking for some advice about the issues I have with my 2015 Mini Cooper Countryman S. It's about 82K miles, current market price ~$8-9K (assuming it runs). Outside of the mechanical issues I'm listed below, the car "looks" great inside and outside.
I have serpentine belt replaced ~6 month ago (~78K miles), and this past week, while driving on the highway, I heard some running noise, then the Engine Overheat warning came up. I had the car towed to a BMW/Mini specialized shop, and the initial diagnosis just came back.
The main issue the shop believes caused the Serpentine Belt to shed was due to the exceed amount of oil leaking (rubber soaked in oil). Based on what they can see, it's due to front crank seal. To fix this part and belt and do clean up, labor and parts would be ~$1100. This is the most critical part to fix to get the car running again.
They also find Oil Filter Housing Gasket leaking which would be other $1000 to fix. They also suggest front and rear brake pads replacements (~$600), batter replacements ($400), and spark plugs (~$200).
At the moment, my plan is to do minimal fix to get the car running again and I will sell it. My question is, with the front crank seal oil leaking, if I just replace the serpentine belt and don't fix the front crank seal (likely the root cause of the leaking, but they said it's also not 100% guarantee that's the only leaking issue), how much time (days) do I have until the serpentine belt might break/shed again? I really just need it to last a few days (~100-200 miles) so I can get the appraised and sold locally. Looking for some advice here. Thank you in advance for your contribution!

Today I celebrate 10 months clean and sober from adderall and crystal meth. That’s the good news. And I’ve been doing it by the book: strong support system, no new relationships, therapy, psych meds, even a voluntary trip to a psychiatric hospital when I had a breakthrough manic episode (I’m bipolar as well). But this girl from work’s been up my ass since the day she started. Following me around the store, following me out to my car on break, etc. And, like, my ego digs it. I’m healthy. I look healthy, and it felt like a sign from God that I might just be a catch again. So I give her my number and we’ve been texting back and forth. Hung out once. And yesterday she didn’t quite blow me off, but her plans with her friends ran too late. So I’m like whatever. Let’s go see a movie this afternoon. She agrees. But here we are at almost 8 PM and I’m once again waiting and thinking things are going to fall through. And it shouldn’t be bothering me, but it is. I’m not even mad at her, so what gives? Then it hits me. I’m 10 months sober, and I’m once again waiting on the dope. Except this time in the form of a girl, and it fucking disgusts me. I saw this coming from a mile away, even told her to fuck off once or twice, and now I’m sitting here and staring at my phone like my dealer’s gonna pull up any minute.

2023.06.01 01:49 KyleSherzenberg An honest opinion going from a 2000 7.3 PSD to a 2017 6.7 PSD- towing the Utah mountains

Last night, we just got back from our furthest trip of the year, from northern Utah, Weber county to eastern Utah, Duchene county and back. In that trip there's a 3% grade up over 2 miles, a 5% grade down over 5 miles, a 6%(my truck never read higher than 4%,but that's another topic) up over 8-10 miles, and a 6% down over 8-10 miles
Our trailer is a 2013 Heartland Big Country 3650rl. 38ft, roughly 14500 loaded without water, as our site had hookups
Now, I've traveled this same route in our 2000 F250 with a 38th foot toy hauler, a previous trailer we had. I think max it ever saw was 13.5k lbs
I know you guys love old diesels and I'm not here to shit on them. I miss my old truck and the sound of it, sure... But I have to say, that trip in our old setup was hell. Constant paying attention to temps, boost, RPM and speed. It was so nerve wracking, you'd only understand if you've been in the situation
I have to say, I set the cruise control on my 2017 at 67 mph(superstitious most efficient speed of mine) and my truck did everything without even making me raise and eyebrow. The 5% up for 8-10 miles, the 5% back down, the only thing I had to do was lock it out of 6th gear because it would lug down a little too much for my liking. The "exhaust brake" button actually works too well sometimes, I had to turn it off
Yes I have to burn emissions, lowering my mpg. Yes I have to put in def twice a year(is what it's averaging out to be), but guys. You need to let go of the past. I'm not trying to flame, but I'm converted
