2023.05.27 00:35 CazOnReddit A Quick Rundown on Non-Pascal/O.G. Trades To Move Up/Down the Draft
In no particular order:
Mavericks (10th) - Has been actively saying they will shop the pick for some help beside Luka
- In need of defensive wings/forward depth and Raptors may need to shed salary via Thad, Otto, Boucher who are all forwards
- Trade would require eating a minimum of $7 million via Davis Bertans for 23/24 but rest of contract is non-guaranteed
Jazz (16th, 28th) - Have a proven star in Lauri and may want to build around him with a player they like in the 10-13 range instead of drafting 2 players i.e. consolidation
- Player the Raptors may want (Bilal, Bufkin*, Rupert, etc.) may be available at 16 if not sold on anyone expected to go 13 (George, Smith Jr., Sensabaugh) and thus gives them an opportunity to take a flier on a project like they did on Pascal while also selecting Jakob 9th in 2016
Wizards (8th, 42nd, 59th) - Should be rebuilding but it's the Wizards who are notoriously bad at drafting + developing talent (see: Rui's stagnation vs thriving once he left)
- New GM tends to mean big splash and trading Beal is a lot more difficult than trading the pick
- In need of a point guard regardless of team's direction so may be a Fred S+T suitoFred draft day opt-in option (No, that Fred trade you've likely seen floating around won't happen even he opts in - the Wizards are incompetent but they're not that incompetent and it's more reasonable to have something like Fred + 13 for Morris + Wright + 8 instead of an absolute fleecing; may require filler depending on if opt-in or S+T)
- Again, they really should be rebuilding and trading Beal but the no-trade clause means you have to hope the team he wants to go to wants him/has something the Wiz want
Pelicans (14th) - Generally not a worthwhile return to move down a single spot in terms of a return but team could receive cash or a protected Bucks first/future second in 2024 or beyond for initiating draft and swap a la the Luka/Trae draft day trade/the Carter draft day trade with Antawn Jamison
- Obvious counterpoint is moving from 3rd to 5th is not the same as moving from 13th to 14th
Hawks (15th, 46th) - See Pelicans but replace a Bucks 2024 pick with a lottery-protected Kings pick or a 2nd round pick in this year's draft
- Jump from 13 to 15 is more notable and Hawks do have some recent history with making draft and swap trades
Nets (21st, 22nd) - They have multiple picks in this draft
- That's it
- One future pick from the Suns could be included given how significant a drop 13-21 is even in such a deep draft but due to current circumstances, Nets may be unwilling to part with future draft capital
Pacers (26th, 29th, 32nd, 55) - See the Nets but the picks are worse
- No you aren't getting 7th without moving one of Pascal/O.G., hence why it isn't listed
- Early second and CBA changes to second-round rookies could allow roster to fill out bench with cheap talent/multiple fliers but drop-off is even steeper

2023.05.26 20:16 Marzman315 Defending the Draft 2023 - Cleveland Browns
Marzman315 here again for this year's edition of Defending the Draft
Disclaimer:
Well here we are again. Once again I am here to talk about the Cleveland Browns offseason and draft, and this means I will be talking about Deshaun Watson. While I am a Browns fan I am completely sympathetic to the negative feelings toward this player. However I am not responsible for his actions or the team's decision to sign him so don't waste your time insulting me and distracting from the discussion of this post to address his actions, instead use that time and energy to donate to the Cleveland Rape Crisis Center using the link below, as I will not engage in any discussion regarding the QB in any off field capacity:
https://clevelandrapecrisis.org/support/donate-now/ Brief Season Review:
The Browns entered 2022 with very ill-defined expectations. On one hand the roster looked fairly solid on paper, however the bizarre QB situation left many with the knowledge that success would be an uphill battle, and that inconsistent QB play would likely be our downfall.
And it most certainly was.
During Deshaun Watson's 11 game suspension, Jacoby Brissett took over as starting QB. He immediately became a fan favorite, as the Browns won their opening week game for the first time in seventeen years, and largely played fairly well in the opening weeks. Some poor performances against beatable opponents though saw the Browns as a pretty mid-level team as Watson made his debut.
To say he was underwhelming was an understatement. While flashes of the elite play that Watson has demonstrated in the past shone through at times, he was largely mediocre to poor for most of his abridged season, completing just 58% of his passes for 1,100 yards with seven touchdowns and five interceptions. He turned in decent games against Baltimore and Washington, and while most reasonable Browns fans expected him to have a bit of rust, it was hard not to be disappointed.
That being said there was still plenty of fun to be had during the Browns 2022 campaign as well. New receiver Amari Cooper performed as advertised, putting up an impressive 1,160 yards and 9 TDs, Nick Chubb was dominant once again rushing for over 1500 yards and 12 TDs, the offensive line continued to utterly dominate (including surprise breakout player Ethan Pocic). The defense regressed largely due to poor coaching and a down year from Denzel Ward (which could partially be blamed on said coaching) but another absolutely elite season from Myles Garrett, continued improvement from 2021 first round pick Greg Newsome and a fantastic year from third round rookie MJ Emerson kept things from being disastrous.
Coaching Staff and Front Office:
The major change to feature here was the welcome firing of defensive coordinator Joe Woods following the season. Woods' refusal to adjust his scheme to fit the skillsets of his players led to pretty poor results (hence the down year from Ward, an elite man coverage corner who played the vast majority of his snaps in zone coverage) and was replaced with veteran DC Jim Schwartz. Kevin Stefanski remains head coach and despite a few Browns fans losing faith in him, the 2020 NFL Coach of the Year remains a stable presence at a position the Browns have not had much stability in as of late.
Free Agency and Trades:
The Browns came into free agency this season with clear needs and GM Andrew Berry emphasized filling those needs immediately with the opening of free agency. Those three needs were Defensive Tackle, which the Browns basically had nobody playing, an edge defender opposite Myles Garrett, and a safety to replace the departing John Johnson.
The Browns opened free agency by signing Ogbonnia Okoronkwo, former Ram and Texan coming off two great pass rushing seasons, Dalvin Tomlinson, the solid and consistent defensive tackle from Minnesota, and Juan Thornhill, very good coverage safety from the Kansas City Chiefs. They then focused on re-signing players from their core like Ethan Pocic and Sione Takitaki, as well as rounding out their depth with more mid-level free agents at fair deals like Jordan Akins and Trysten Hill. Their final impact move before the draft was a trade for 23 year old slot specialist Elijah Moore from the New York Jets by exchanging their second round pick for the Jets third round pick. A low risk gamble for the high upside Moore who wanted to be featured in the offense a bit more and will be in the Browns offense.
Key Acquisitions/signings:
Dalvin Tomlinson, DT - Signed: 4 yrs $57 million
Juan Thornhill, DB - Signed: 3 yrs $21 million
Ogbonnia Okoronkwo, DE - Signed: 3 yrs $19 million
Jordan Akins, TE - Signed: 2 yrs $3.9 million
Sione Takitaki, LB - Re-signed: $2.4 million
Marquise Goodwin, WR - Signed $1.7 million
Michael Ford, DB - Signed: $1.5 million
Elijah Moore, WR - Traded from NY Jets for draft picks
Za'Darius Smith, DE - Traded from Minnesota for draft picks
Anthony Walker, LB - Re-Signed: 1 yr, $1.2 million
Rodney McCleod, DB - Signed: 1 yr, $1.3 million
Trysten Hill, DL - Signed: 1 yr, $1.2 million
Jordan Kunaszyk, LB - Signed 1 yr, $1.2 million
Key Losses:
Jacoby Brissett, QB - Signed with Washington in FA
Greedy Williams, DB - Signed with Philadelphia in FA
D'Ernest Johnson, RB - Signed with Jacksonville in FA
Taven Bryan, DT - Signed with Indianapolis in FA
Chase Winovich, DE - Signed with Houston in FA
(The following players' deals have expired but as of now they have neither re-signed or signed elsewhere)
John Johnson, DB - Very unlikely to re-sign, replaced by Thornhill/McLeod
Jadeveon Clowney, DE - Very unlikely to re-sign, replaced by Okoronkwo/Smith
Kareem Hunt, RB - unlikely to re-sign, injuries/reduced usage in 2022
Deion Jones, LB - uncertain to resign, average play in 2022, probably redundant with healthy Anthony Walker
Draft Season:
The Browns entered the draft season without any major holes on the starting roster, although their depth at defensive tackle and wide receiver was still lacking. This was good, considering the team had no draft picks until the 74th pick. The Browns have had some mixed success in the mid rounds but ultimately most reasonable fans trust Berry to put together the best roster possible.
The Draft:
Browns trade pick 42 to NYJ for WR Elijah Moore and pick 74.
3.74 - Cedric Tillman, WR Tennessee
Receiver is an interesting position for the Browns because there are a number of guys on the roster that its easy to get excited about but also easy to write off as non-contributors. 2020 sixth round pick Donovan Peoples-Jones was a fairly solid number two with 840 yds and 3 TDs, but struggled to contribute meaningfully late in the season barring a pretty good game against Cincinnati. Third round rookie David Bell had some decent games from the slot but is limited as an outside option, and Anthony Schwartz is good for one or two huge plays a year thanks to his speed but his terrible hands and poor route running simply doesn't justify them.
Enter Cedric Tillman. The big bodied, 6'3" 220 lb outside threat was dominant for Tennessee before injuries saw him limited in his final season. Tillman has huge potential and while he may not play a ton of snaps in 2023 he is auditioning to take over at #2 if Peoples-Jones leaves in free agency following this year.
3.98 - Siaki Ika, DT Baylor
While GM Andrew Berry aggressively attacked the defensive tackle in free agency, the depth of the position was still lacking going into the draft, particularly an adept run stuffer to man the 1T.
And then the 6'3" 335 lb monster Siaki Ika just falls into their laps. Ika was widely considered a first round prospect going into the season, however some reduction in his production in 2022 as well as a disappointing combine saw him fall out of favor a bit, plus the natural lack of value of the nose tackle position he plays. However his good tape is astounding, as it features a very nimble big man who can not only absorb double teams and disrupt run lanes, but positively contribute to pass rushing as well. He will have a role on the Browns from day one, even if he cannot replicate his pass rushing from college, he will be an effective presence on run downs immediately.
4.111 - Dawand Jones, OT Ohio State
The fall of Dawand Jones on draft day was shocking to some and expected by others. He is a prospect of very distinct strengths and weaknesses.
His strengths are obvious from looking at him. Dude's big. At over 6'8" and weighing in at 375 lbs with monstrous 36" arms he's the premier 'first off the bus' guy and has inherent advantages at the position. His tape was very impressive in 2022 and 21, albeit a bit inconsistent at times.
Jones started rubbing people the wrong way at the senior bowl, after an impressive first day he quit on the rest of the program, then showed up seeming a bit out of shape at the Combine. In the fourth round however he is a no-brainer. With Jedrick Wills approaching the last year of his contract and Jack Conklin (despite his recent extension) being somewhat injury prone, Jones has a path to the field early and is in the hands of one of the very best position coaches in the NFL in o-line coach Bill Callahan. A gamble to be sure, but a very worthwhile one.
4.126 - Isaiah McGuire, DE Missouri
The Browns have certainly had a type with their edge rushers as of late. With the exception of Okoronkwo the physical profile of our EDGE rushers is often very similar and McGuire fits that mold exactly. Highly productive at Missouri, McGuire logged over 20 QB hurries in 2021 and 2022 according to PFF. While he did get shut down at times against top level opponents like Georgia, he was a very effective pass rusher and run stopper with a tremendous physical profile, even if his athletic testing was a bit more modest. He will settle in as a rotational edge rusher immediately and compete with Alex Wright for snaps.
5.140 - Dorian Thompson-Robinson , QB UCLA
There have been few QBs in college football over the past five years as modestly dependable and effective as DTR. Passing for over 10,000 yds and 86 TD to 33 INTs over his long college career, with an additional 1800 yds and 27 TDs on the ground, DTR has a pro level arm, excellent mobility, and is a very intelligent passer with good instincts and the ability to progress through his reads. With a QB that has baggage, a dependable backup QB is a necessity.
5.142 - Cameron Mitchell, DB Northwestern
There was a scandal at one point this offseason where one of Cleveland's many dumbass media personalities pushed a rumor that Greg Newsome was unhappy and was demanding a trade. This was immediately rebuked by follow reporters, sources with the team, and Newsome himself, citing a charity program he launched in Cleveland within the few months prior while reiterating his love for the Browns. The reporter was justifiably made a fool of and issued a half-hearted apology soon after.
However just in case, the Browns went ahead and drafted Newsome's best friend just to make him a bit happier. Mitchell was a solid coverage presence at Northwestern, who had some great games against good passing teams including Ohio State. However his tendency to disappear at times as well as his being a better tackler than coverage player (not exactly what you want in a cornerback) saw him fall to the fifth round. He brings solid size and athleticism to the position, and is certainly a worthwhile project.
6.190 - Luke Wypler, IOL Ohio State
A real curiosity of the 2023 NFL draft was the fall of Luke Wypler. The number 54 player on PFF's big board and considered a solid day two choice by most, Wypler found himself falling all the way to the sixth round where he was a welcome addition by the Browns. Perhaps a bit undersized for his frame, he brings solid athleticism and two very good years of production to the position at one of the top programs in the nation. With the team having signed Ethan Pocic to an extension and Wypler's profile locking him to Center pretty much exclusively, his path to the field is not exactly clear (barring injuries) but a player of Wypler's caliber is not often available in the sixth round so that seems like a good problem to have.
Undrafted Free Agents:
Lonnie Phelps, DE Kansas
Mohamoud Diabate, LB Utah
Ronnie Hickman, DB Ohio State
Jeremiah Marin, DE Washington
Hassan Hall, RB Georgia Tech
Tanner McCalister, DB Ohio State
Charlie Thomas III, LB Georgia Tech
Thomas Greaney, TE Albany
Caleb Biggers, DB Boise State
I don't see anyone from this list contributing meaningfully in 2023 barring injury. The days of the Browns depending on starting snaps from UDFAs is thankfully over. That said I can see Phelps and Hickman potentially making the team, perhaps Hassan Hall as well due largely to the lack of depth running backs on the roster.
It was also following the draft that the Browns traded two fifth round picks for Za'Darius Smith, a sixth round pick and a seventh round pick. Smith is an excellent pass rusher who will provide the critical third veteran presence after Okoronkwo and Garrett, allowing the young, more raw guys like Alex Wright and Isaiah McGuire to be more rotational.
Going Forward:
Browns fans that I've spoken to are largely extremely pleased with this draft and offseason as a whole. We came in with clear needs, addressed them definitively in free agency, drafted with a clear BPA approach, and came out of draft season a better team on paper than going in. The depth of the receiving corps is still a bit uncertain, and while most Browns fans may wish we upgraded at DT a bit more I think that the guys that have been starting are better suited as backups anyway.
The season is hard to predict however for much the same reason last year's was; the massive uncertainty at QB. While Deshaun Watson played quite poorly last year it is impossible to predict how he will play with a full offseason with his teammates and coaching staff.
The division and conference is brutally hard but if this team plays to its full potential it is easily a contender for a deep playoff run. If Watson struggles and the defense doesn't improve with the new coaching it could be a long few years ahead. Only time will tell and most Browns fans are approaching the year with a familiar cautious optimism.

2023.05.25 15:49 Davey_the_Great Building to 53: The Corners
Cornerbacks are expected to be shut down the pass in today's NFL.
They need to cover, intercept and most importantly not get burned!
Having "unique" coverage corners makes the secondary more diverse.
DQ likes corners with length and short area quickness to keep things tight for the opposing QB.
You can never have enough
good cover corners.
The Contenders for 53 Roster Spot
Cornerbacks - Trevon Diggs, Stephon Gilmore, DaRon Bland, Jourdan Lewis, Kelvin Joseph, Nahshon Wright, Eric Scott Jr., CJ Goodwin, Myles Brooks, D'Angelo Mandell
Let's assume they are all healthy by the end of preseason.

2023.05.25 04:56 itsnotlupus Declaration from Craig's attorney: The Crypto Devil Made Him Do It!
Why did Craig's lawyer file Craig's sad little 1.977 form as "Attorney's Eyes Only"? We finally have
the definitive answer, filed under penalty of perjury by the very the lawyer who made the decision to classify it.
Among the numerous super good justifications given, a couple pop out to me:
- "Public disclosure of Dr. Wright's financial information could influence the volatile digital currency markets, in which he is a known leader", and indeed on the day of the Unsealing, the financial world markets reacted powerfully to the shattering revelation of Craig's middling salary.
- Robert J, Kuntz Jr., Esq. was nervous about cryptodevil, noting that he "was one of the social media personalities that I was worried about when I decided to make the AEO designation", and that concern was all the more justified when the devil struck again by sending to one of the lawyer's lawyer "a lengthy e-mail [...] advising him against representing Rivero Mestre, or anyone else associated with Dr. Wright."
That's some truly terrifying stuff right there.

2023.05.24 23:58 Lvl_Rivalbyte23 The Case for Ginger Foutley in Nickelodeon All Star Brawl
| The Case for Ginger Foutley in Nickelodeon All Star Brawl: In order to make sense as to how Ginger Foutley would function as a fighter, I’m approaching this moveset with the mindset of characters like Villager, Wii Fit Trainer, and Phoenix Wright and their roles in fighting games. Ginger has one thing in common with all these characters, they’re all pretty much pacifists, but they can hold their own when necessary. She isn’t a fighter by nature, and that’s how I’m tackling this moveset. She’s a defensive character, first and foremost. Also, she could bring a lot of alternate costume potential with the amount of outfits she’s worn over the duration of the series (Ginger has about 63 to 64 outfits) and Nick Brawl is vastly lacking in the alternate costume department. Lastly, I’m not saying that Carl & Hoodsey couldn’t make it in as a 2 in 1 fighter. They definitely could, but they come from the same series Ginger comes from “a grounded, down to earth, animated teen dramedy”. As Told By Ginger is no different in terms of realism in comparison to something like Hey Arnold! or The Wild Thornberrys (seriously, a girl with telekinetic powers lol). Yes, the show may be a bit deep and darker than both of them, but the themes of the show shouldn’t dictate if the franchise gets represented or not. Arguments like that is how gatekeeping starts. Yes, there’s not much outcry from them to be in a sequel, but games or other media like this can give As Told By Ginger more attention and reception. Games like Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and the Super Smash Bros. series have made characters like Phoenix Wright, Villager, and Wii Fit Trainer work. The whole point of this thread is to change that and bring more attention to the series itself, as ATBG is perhaps the most underrated Nicktoon ever. Also, I chose Ginger since she IS the main character of her show and the moveset that I came up for her, albeit a bit simple, takes a bit more thought to come up with compared to Carl/Hoodsey. If the aforementioned fighting games have taught me anything, it’s that ANYBODY could be a fighter in a “goofy and wild fighting game”. Model Stats: Her default model would be her Lucky Jr. High costume consisting of her in a yellow t-shirt, blue pants, and light yellow shoes since she is mostly seen in a lot of promotional material with this outfit. However, the other costumes can be any of the 63 to 64 costumes she’s worn. In a possible sequel, every character in the roster should have a minimum of four costumes. And since Ginger ages in the final episodes, maybe she can have her Lucky High costumes too. Moves for potential moveset: Considering how down to earth Ginger is, it makes her a very unique & interesting fighter with how practical she is. - “As Told By Ginger” – POSSIBLE FINISHER

** Some of the aforementioned moves could work out as aerials. My Ginger Foutley moveset: Light Neutral Attack – “Get Out!” – Ginger points her finger and yells “Get Out!”. Reference from Ginger generally yelling at Carl and Hoodsey in the series. Light Up Attack – Hairdryer – Ginger dries her hair with a hairdryer. Reference from “Kiss and Make-up”. Light Down Attack – Diary Entry – Ginger writes briefly in her journal and speech bubble pops out to damage the enemy. After 1 second, Ginger’s eyeball from the series’ logo will appear in the bubble, causing it to dissipate. Reference used from a mixture of Ginger writing in her diary and other promotional material. Light Neutral Air Attack – Seal Fins – Ginger waves her seal fins in the air. Reference from “The Little Seal Girl”. Light Up Air Attack – Butterflies Are Free! – Ginger opens a box full of butterflies and sets them free. Reference from “Butterflies Are Free”. Light Down Air Attack – Flutter Kick – Ginger flutters her feet. Original idea. Light Dash Attack – “What’s the Rush?” – Ginger drives the shopping cart and loses control. Reference from “The Nurses’ Strike”. Strong Neutral Attack – Guitar Ballad – Ginger grabs her wooden guitar and plays some strong, yet relaxing notes. Reference from “Blizzard Conditions”. Strong Up Attack – Extra Grande Triangle – Ginger rings the Extra Grande Triangle with her drumstick. Reference from “Ginger’s Solo”. Strong Down Attack – Dear Diary – Ginger lies down to write a quick diary entry. A speech bubble from the series’ logo appears and last for 3 seconds. Ginger’s eyeball from the series’ logo will act as a time indicator; three Ginger eyeballs will countdown the seconds this move can be used in the speech bubble. Reference used from a mixture of Ginger writing in her diary and other promotional material. Strong Neutral Air Attack – Frozen bra – Ginger swings her body in a counter-clockwise motion with Courtney’s frozen bra. Reference and idea from “Sleep On It”. Strong Up Air Attack – Scary Stories – Ginger tells a shocking and scary story with her flashlight pointing upward. Reference from “Sleep On It” and other promotional material. Strong Down Air Attack – Guitar Rock – Ginger rocks out with her metal guitar and delivers a hard rock melody downwards to foes. Reference from “Ginger’s Solo”. Strong Dash Attack – Diary Slam – Ginger jumps slightly and slams her diary. Reference from the intro of As Told By Ginger and other promotional material. Neutral Special Attack – Ben the Dog. Ginger calls on Ben, Jonas’ dog, to rush at foes. He can change direction. Reference from “Losing Nana Bishop”. Up Special Attack - Flying Handlebar. Ginger rides and floats on a bicycle’s flying handlebar. Reference from “Dare I, Darren”. Down Special Attack – Mocoloco Frothinator – Ginger drinks some coffee, which boosts her speed and recovery. This can last for 25 seconds. Reference from “Stuff’ll Kill Ya”. Taunt 1: “How does my hair look?” Taunt 2: “Did I miss something here?” with schoolbooks in hand Arcade Mode intro quotes: - “I'm not nervous. I'm soaking up this powerful moment whereby I take matters into my own hands and, you know, risk going to prison.”
- “Friday of freedom from fish sticks; fried food. Friday of freedom; repair my foul mood.”
- “I can't live under a stairwell my whole life.”
- “Who’s ever heard of a floating funeral home?”
- “You are seriously disturbed.”
- “I’m a pretty intense girl”
- “So, uh, what's it like be being French? I'm a big fan of your toast.”
- “Sounds terrif.”
Victory Pose: Ginger opens the box with the butterflies as they roam free and she watches on in pure joy and happiness. One of the butterflies on her hand, and she lets it fly free. Losing Pose: Ginger’s obsession with the Mocoloco Frothinator gets out of control and she paces back and forth rapidly with a cup carrier full of coffee. She could also just hang her head down in sorrow and misery. Attributes: Since she is a lightweight, defensive character, she has poor to mid recovery. However, her strong and special moves carry a lot of damage. Stage(s): Sheltered Shrubs (specific location TBD) Honestly, this stage could work as an auto-scrolling stage going through all the locales like the Foutleys’ house, the Lucky schools, the Griplings’ mansion, etc. Or it could recycle the same format that Hey Arnold! used with the city bus in the Traffic Jam and use Lois’ car as the focal platform with other car platforms coming in from time to time. Dodie, Macie, Darren, Miranda, Courtney, Carl, Hoodsey, and Lois could serve as cameos in the background. ** Another stage that would be cool would be the world from Ginger’s poem “And She Was Gone”. The mysterious puppet girl from that poem could serve as a cameo in the stage. Music: - I’m in Between
- And She Was Gone
- Goodbye Camp Caprice
- Little Seal Girl
- Diamonds are Expensive
- Splinter in my Heart
To conclude this thread, Ginger Foutley can definitely work as a fighter in a potential Nickelodeon All Star Brawl sequel, and I’m hoping this not only brings attention to the case I’ve made here, but attention to As Told By Ginger as a series. Just because it isn’t as popular as other Nicktoons, heck, even other Klasky-Csupo/Nickelodeon productions like Rugrats, All Grown Up!, The Wild Thornberrys, Rocket Power, or Aaahh!!! Real Monsters, doesn’t mean it shouldn’t make it in. This is easily one of the most underrated Nicktoons that brings focus to topics a coming-of-age story typically covers, like adolescence, death, betrayal, peer pressure, etc. If anything, this might as well just a thread talking about how the series should just be represented, period, whether in the form of a fighter, assist character, items, or stage. To put it short, go give As Told By Ginger some love. Thanks!!😌🤙🏾 submitted by Lvl_Rivalbyte23 to AllStarBrawl [link] [comments] |
2023.05.24 20:39 Fascist_Ohoulihan Anyone watch 'Rich and Shameless: Basketball Murder for Money' episode about the murder of Lorenzen Wright after the game last night?
Spoiler alert (if such a sad story could even be spoiled...)
What a tragic story. I feel so much for Lorenz's children... can't imagine what they're going through. But man, my mind is blown by two things:
- This bitch seriously killed her husband, then proceeded to write a book about an abusive rich basketball player husband based on him, and then openly talked about her planning to murder him in the sequel?! The audacity and stupidity.
- The fact that she may get out of jail in 9 years, and is currently petitioning for parole. I can't believe how horribly the DA's office fumbled this. How do you settle a plea with someone for "facilitating" a murder that no one has even been convicted for yet? You would think that the DA's office would first convict someone of murder before convicting someone for helping facilitate it. Testimony in the actual murder case ended up revealing that she was present for the murder and stated that she pulled the trigger along with the other murderer. Can they seriously not overturn that plea in light of new testimony and charge her with murder?
RIP Lorenzen Wright

In the main event, an undefeated (27-0) Goldberg dominated Hollywood Hulk Hogan to win the World Heavyweight Championship, ending Hogans 16-month reign. nWo lost all of their matches and all of their gold tonight. Goldberg was never my first choice to end this reign. I finally got so sick of Hogans creative control that I used the editor to give Goldberg 95 popularity (up from a natural 86). Wish it could have been Sting, but I didn’t want to resort to the editor to get around Hogan. Sting already lost to Hogan 3 times in this save. He couldn’t be the one to do it. Goldberg was just right place, right time. He shot to 86 popularity in like 2 months, 10 matches. Tried to give it some time to go up more, but it wouldn’t budge and neither would Hogan.
Randy Savage & Sting teamed up to dethrone the Outsiders. Savage & Sting both had numerous attempts against Hogan throughout his reign, then decided to team up to go after Hall & Nash. Outsiders were 3-time tag champs, only losing the belts for like a month each time (once to Luger & Sting, once to DDP & The Giant).
The Giant, DDP, & a surprise returning Rick Steiner teamed up to defeat the nWo team of Scott Steiner, Konnan, & Syxx. Rick was injured when Scott turned heel during a match 4 months prior and joined the nWo. Giant & DDP had been feuding with various members of the nWo since Giant was kicked out like 6 months back.
Booker T retained his US Championship against Ric Flair. Booker has been champ since beating Raven at Fall Brawl 3 months prior. These two have had 2 other matches in the save with a 1-1 record. Got a road agent note that “Flair used his skills to make Booker T look excellent out there” or something like that.
Lord Steven Regal & Squire Dave Taylor defeated Bobby Eaton & Douglas Williams. Eaton & Williams were both former members of the Blue Bloods, but Eaton left 6 months ago and Williams left last week on Nitro, after a month of tensions building. Hoping for Douglas Williams to be a foundation of WCW for many years to come. This team with Eaton was never going anywhere.
Mike Awesome made his 19th TV Title defense, beating Raven in a hardcore match. Awesome was a former Flock member. After Raven lost his US Championship against Booker T, he grew jealous of Awesomes reign as TV champ, finally demanding a match at Starrcade, where Mike Awesome would be forced to lay down. In the main event of the go-home Nitro, Awesome left Raven in the main event tag match to be beat by Sting & Savage, officially leaving the Flock and turning face.
The Flock (Saturn, Bryant (Power Plant grad), and Kanyon) defeated Disco Inferno, Alex Wright, & The Godfather. This match came to be after a series of singles & tag matches featuring these guys on WCW Saturday Night. The Flock didn’t like their opponents upbeat personalities.
Chris Jericho defeated Eddy Guerrero. Eddy returned from rehab a few months ago as a face, but quickly turned heel against Chris Jericho after a miscommunication caused them to lose a tag match against Benoit & Malenko. Eddy has been a thorn in Jerichos side ever since.
Brian Christopher beat Chavo Guerrero Jr in a match that came to be after Brian Christopher kept interrupting Chavo interviews backstage. This feud became intertwined with Jericho/Eddy as over the months as well.
Dean Malenko defeated Chris Benoit. Plans had to change for this one because Benoit got injured on the go home show. He can still work, but I decided to give Malenko the win to build some momentum and let Benoit rest as much as possible. Benoit left the Horsemen and feuded with Flair for a while, eventually sweeping him 3-0. Malenko has been losing a lot of his big matches recently.
Brain Busters (Arn & Tully, also Horsemen) defeated Stevie Ray & D’Lo Brown. Stevie started tagging with D’Lo after Booker began focusing on his singles career.
2 Cold Scorpio defeated Dave Finlay. No real history or story here, just wanted them both on the show.
The Dudley Boys defeated Brad & Jesse James Armstrong. The Dudley Boys opened the show, pissed they didn’t have a match, and issued an open challenge.
Moving forward, Hogan is going to be pissed and take everything out on the nWo. Nash will be the first to turn babyface and leave, followed by Hall a few weeks later. The Outsiders will team up with Sting, The Giant, & DDP to form the nWo Wolfpack. Randy Savage will turn heel on Sting, because he doesn’t trust the Outsiders after more than a year of fighting them. He doesn’t trust Hogan either, but it’s an evil he knows well, so the nWo White & Black will be Hogan, Savage, Scott Steiner, Konnan, & Syxx.
Not sure what I’ll do with Booker T’s US title reign. Mike Awesomes feud with Raven is only just getting started. I’m thinking next will be a Texas Death Match, where the Flock interferes to help Raven win. Then the rubber match will be a cage match, where Raven will probably retain so Mike Awesome can move on to bigger things.
Chavo is going to be pissed that he can’t win a match, so he’ll turn heel to tag with Eddy. Not sure what I’ll do with the likes of Benoit, Jericho, Malenko, Blue Bloods, or really anyone else.
Thanks for reading.
