I am compelled to vent my exasperation and bewilderment at the venerated series that has ensnared the minds of so many: the Three Body Problem novels by the esteemed Cixin Liu. Pray, lend me your attention, for I shall dissect this inexplicable phenomenon and expose the superficiality and contrivances that have rendered these works devoid of merit.
Let us commence our examination by scrutinizing the characters that populate this literary universe, starting with Wang Miao, the alleged protagonist of the first installment. Alas, he manifests as an insipid specter, a physicist who traipses about like an emotionless automaton, devoid of any semblance of depth or humanity. Moreover, the callous disregard for his wife and children, halfheartedly cast aside midway through the narrative, only reinforces the novel's inability to engender a sense of emotional resonance. How can one expect to be captivated by a tale in which the supposed hero relegates his own family to mere afterthoughts?
And let us not forget the misogyny that permeates these tales, exemplified by Luo Ji, the protagonist of the second book. His puerile delusions of an imaginary girlfriend are a feeble attempt at character development, an unsavory portrayal that reeks of male chauvinism. This flagrant disregard for the complexity and agency of female characters is a blemish that stains not only the pages of these novels but also casts a shadow of suspicion upon the author himself. Is it not reasonable to question the misogynistic inclinations of Cixin Liu when his literary creations serve as glaring testaments to his inability to craft multifaceted and empowered female characters?
Then we arrive at Chen Xin, the purported heroine of the third book, whose portrayal evokes nothing but exasperation and incredulity. Her seemingly ceaseless penchant for making foolhardy decisions that jeopardize the very survival of humanity betrays a profound lack of logic and strategic acumen. It is a disservice to the readers to expect them to invest their intellectual faculties in a character so weak and prone to ill-conceived choices. One is left to wonder whether Liu intentionally crafted this portrayal as an affront to the intelligence of his audience.
Alas, the flaws do not stop at the characters; they extend inexorably into the fabric of the plot itself. It appears that Cixin Liu, in his desperate quest to showcase his superficial scientific knowledge, concocted a convoluted and contrived narrative, laced with insipid twists and contorted logic. The plot serves as a mere vehicle to parade the author's pseudo-intellectual preoccupations rather than immersing the reader in a compelling and coherent story. It is an exercise in self-indulgence that forsakes the very essence of engaging storytelling.
Furthermore, I must extend my diatribe to the abomination that is "Redemption of Time," the sequel penned by Baoshu. This egregious work takes the foundation of contrivance and absurdity laid by its predecessor and amplifies it to unbearable levels. The inclusion of a Chinese porn actress as a central character betrays a desperate attempt to garner attention through gratuitous sensationalism. It is an insult to the discerning reader's intelligence and a stark indication of the creative bankruptcy that plagues this literary endeavor.
And what of the audacity displayed in the breaking of the fourth wall at the conclusion of "Redemption of Time"? This act of narrative transgression is presented with such puzzling ambiguity that one cannot discern whether it is meant to be a serious artistic choice or a pitiable attempt at humor. In either case, it is a jarring and disruptive intrusion that serves no purpose beyond further tarnishing the fragile remnants of coherence that might have been salvaged from the wreckage of this literary misadventure.
Lastly, I am compelled to question the judgment of those who dare to endorse this literary quagmire. The inclusion of Cixin Liu's works in the recommended reading list of none other than former President Obama strikes me as an egregious misstep, a testament to the fallibility of even the most esteemed individuals. One is left to ponder whether the former president's literary tastes were marred by an insurmountable blind spot or an inexplicable fondness for the ridiculous.
I cannot help but note the irony that even the esteemed former President Obama, whom I once held in high regard, was not immune to the allure of this literary abomination. It is a reminder that even the greatest minds can falter in their judgment, and thus, we must remain steadfast in our commitment to discerning taste.
In conclusion, dear readers, I beseech you to abandon the allure of the Three Body Problem series and instead direct your discerning gaze towards the works of true literary luminaries. Seek solace in the profound musings of Ursula K. Le Guin, the philosophical forays of Stanisław Lem, or the mind-bending tales of Philip K. Dick. Elevate your intellectual pursuits beyond the trappings of mainstream drivel and embrace the profound potential of speculative fiction to provoke introspection, challenge societal constructs, and expand the horizons of the human mind.
May we together cultivate a literary renaissance, where only the most intellectually stimulating and thematically profound works grace our shelves. Let us not succumb to the allure of shallow spectacles but instead embark upon a journey of intellectual enlightenment. Hello everyone! Summer is almost here. It is the favorite time of the year for many. We will be making our way to the beaches, outdoor concerts, visiting the library, the zoo, exotic countries and Islands, and much more fun travel, activities, celebrations, and meetups.
Anyway, please remember that this month–on June 11, 2023, is National Children’s Day. National Children’s Day is a day to honor our children. It is a special day to recognize the goodness that children bring into our lives. As siblings, parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents, teachers, and those of us who are in constant contact with youths, it is a day of reflection, and reassurance that we are there for every child.
Children are the future. They are the ones who will inherit the world, build, and improves it, and make it much better for generations to come. Children bring with them a ray of sunshine, joy, eagerness for learning, and a unique curiosity. They are very loving and appreciative of our endless love, care, support, and protection for them. Hopefully, some of us will read this blog with our little ones at their sides, even if they are not yet reading at this level.

I’ve seen this trend floating around some other artists’ subreddits, particularly taylorswift , and I wanted to bring it here! The thing with Marina is that there are only 16 letters that have more than 1 song starting with them, meaning that we will not have polls for C, D, J, K, Q, U, W, X, Y, or Z. All the other letters will have polls of their own!

Major Anxiety. Please lend your opinion.
Hi everyone, I (m26) recently had a sexual encounter with someone from my job about 7 days ago. It was a one-off, unprotected, vaginal experience that lasted all of maybe 5 minutes. She had just recently gotten out of a long term relationship where she suspected her partner of cheating, but never was able to prove it with certainty.
Since then, I’ve been in my own head about if I maybe could’ve contracted something from her, due to her mentioning at one point that she was still unsure about her partner cheating on her although it was probably likely. I haven’t been experiencing the “traditional” symptoms but I have attributing even then smallest health issue to a potential infection. For example, Im currently getting over what feels like a head cold, but I don’t have a fever or anything so I’m a little bit confused. I’ve also felt a slight tingling every now & then down there, but have had no visible sores or blisters.
I’m waiting a couple more days/weeks to go get tested. I do find some a little bit of relief because she told me that she’s never had any sort of issues down there but I know that certain things can lay dormant.
What do you guys think? Should I be worried? The incubation period for HSV is 2-12 days and i’m on Day 7 with no symptoms.

First, a VoxDesign “Dirty” Raccoon - 3/8” in brass. Purchased new from UrbanEDC in July of 2022. I have way too many of these “bottle openers” from VoxDesign, and this one has never been carried or used…it should go to someone who will appreciate it. Basically new condition. Includes original bag and card. Item was $165 new.

Next up, a PNW Toast Co. Toast! This was purchased from UrbanEDC in June of 2021. This was an Urban EDC exclusive with a layer of Tiffany G10 sandwiched between Stabwood on one side and and Canvas Micarta on the other. Very cool little force multiplier, but I never ended up carrying it. Also purchased a brown Breadbox Slip (leather sheath) from Redeemed Creations that same month. Also never carried (although I did slip the toast in and out of it a few times, so it’s not “mint”). Toast includes original COA and paper bag wrapping. Item is like new. Toast was $189 new, sheath was $30.

Next, a Peak Eiger Ultra X in brass. Purchased directly from Peak in 2017, I’ve carried this a handful of times, but never really fell in love with the twisty style interface. This is the Hi-CRI version with narrow beam, includes the tail switch (momentary) and clip (which I think is a Preon clip, but I don’t actually remember…I did have to pick it up separately). Beam is lovely, light is in good shape. Runs off a 10440 Li-ion cell ONLY (not included). Light (without clip) was $85 new.

Next, a Ripp’s Garage Tech Polished Timascus clip for CRK. This came to me installed on a Large Inkosi I got on the Swap. I left it on, carried it twice, and decided it was just a touch too fancy for me. Removed the clip and it ended up in a drawer for a year or two, and was recently re-discovered. Clip is in good shape, although there are a couple very small spots on the left side of the clip that look like wear to me, I did my best to picture them. Otherwise, this is a great opportunity to set your CRK apart. These go for about $130 new, I believe.

Next, an MXG Titanium Deep Carry clip for Spyderco knives. I got a couple clips from MXG trying to find a good match for my Swayback, this didn’t make the cut, but I liked the clip and kept thinking I’d find a home for it…never did. Time to move it on! It was very briefly installed on the Swayback, but never carried. It’s in essentially new condition. Originally $25.

Then we’ve got a Tanner Goods Document Folio in black. I got this from a sample sale grab bag about 10 years ago and loved it, but wanted it in brown. So, promptly ordered the cognac version and put this one away. It’s doing nobody any good stashed away, so it’s time to let it go. It’s made from a single piece of 5.5 oz vegetable tanned Meridian English Bridle leather, with brass studs. Features a felted wool sleeve. Aside from the “S” stamp (see pictures) I can find nothing that differentiates this folio from the full-price one I purchased at the same time. The case measures 12” long by 9” wide. Tanner Goods doesn’t make these anymore, if you’re looking for an elegant way to transport your documents (or iPad), this is a damn fine way to do it. Originally sold for $200.

Lastly, a Galway vertical snap wallet from Blackthorn Leather. I purchased this back in 2018 and carried it a half-dozen times. It’s a great wallet, I just prefer a “trucker wallet” style form factor. Construction is SOLID, the wallet feels bombproof. Wallet is in excellent condition. Item is constructed from hand-dyed, full-grain vegetable tanned leather and lined with plaid accent fabric. Measures 3.5” x 4.75” closed. The concho is a very well done reproduction Walking Liberty quarter (the coin collectors in your life will thank you). Item was $115 new.

FINALLY, the last item up for today is a Saddleback Leather - Large Satchel in Coffee Brown. Got this back in November of 2012 to replace a Large Briefcase that was too large. It was carried a bunch in an office environment, but was ultimately replaced by a Mountainback Large Satchel in 2016. The large satchel is no longer available (in fact, none of the bags I just mentioned are still available), so this is your chance to pick up this beautiful leather bag that is tired of living in my closet. I’m including an older Saddleback leather slip case. I’ve used it to carry iPhone/iPad chargers, but it can work for loads of different uses. Also including a set of two leather utility straps that Saddleback used to offer that I kept laced in the D-rings on the bottom of the bag (great for carrying a jacket or sweater).

RP Requirements/What to Expect from Me!

I usually write long, detailed replies in third person point of view, past tense. My length can vary based on what I receive, but for interest sake I like to keep them between 2-5 paragraphs but I am happy to do less or more depending on your preference!
Plot-based stuff is going to be all up to discussion. Things can get dark. They can be as dark as you want them to be. On the lighter side, I love the different relationship dynamics that can come of the characters unique personalities. Don’t be afraid to suggest things! I’m pretty lenient with fiction.
Would love to tailor plots to the specific characters and their potential dynamic. I absolutely love the process of plotting, workshopping ideas, spinning off into AUs and generally finding something that can be really character driven. I am also not opposed to "alternate history" scenarios if we want to stick together two characters who might not realistically meet.
