2023.06.03 23:16 norrisrw The cast of Emergency! (ca. 1976)
| Emergency! (1972-77) was a TV show which ran for six seasons on NBC, followed by a few TV movie events over the next two years. It was produced at Universal Studios by Jack Webb's Mark VII Limited Productions. The show centered around Los Angeles County Fire Department Paramedics John Gage (Randolph Mantooth, top) and Roy DeSoto (Kevin Tighe, center), of Station 51. LACoFD was one of the first fire departments in the US to launch a paramedic program. It literally took an act of the California State Legislature (The Wedworth-Townsend Act of 1970) to make it happen. The two-hour pilot dramatized the process of enacting it into law. When creator Ronald A. Cinader approached the LACoFD with concept of Emergency!, they were on board immediately, as they saw it as an opportunity to demonstrate the benefits of a paramedic program on a national scale. As Emergency! was about paramedics, a hospital would naturally be involved. On the show, that hospital was Rampart General Hospital, and its primary medical staff of Dr. Kelly Brackett (Robert Fuller, right), Head Nurse Dixie McCall (Julie London), and Dr. Joe Early (Bobby Troup). Exterior locations for Emergency! included LA County Station 127, on 223rd Street, Carson, and HarboUCLA Medical Center, at the intersection of Carson Street and Vermont Avenue, also in Carson. The hero vehicle was a 1972 Dodge D-300 work truck built by the studio, based on plans provided by LACoFD; the replica was so accurate, the rig saw actual duty as a reserve squad vehicle in the department. Two different apparatuses were used as Engine 51: a 1965 Crown Fire coach, and a 1973 Ward La France P80 Ambassador. Ward La France donated their rig on two conditions: That the show demonstrated its capabilities, and that it saw actual service after the show end its run. Universal would continue to use the Ward La France rig in various productions, including The China Syndrome (1979), until 1984, when it was pressed into service at Yosemite National Park. Today, all three rigs have been restored to their television glory. They are on display at the Los Angeles County Fire Museum, in Bellfower. All feature autographs by the cast, including most of the support cast, and Squad 51 has nearly all of the equipment featured on the show within its lockers. As the LACoFD had predicted, Emergency! exposed the concept of a paramedic program nationwide. Today, every paramedic and EMT owes a debt of gratitude to Emergency! submitted by norrisrw to OldSchoolCool [link] [comments] |

2023.06.03 22:25 Sinrus Theory from the latest event: Parma is Dr. Keylan
At first glance, the Dragon & Isle of Sky event doesn't seem to have a lot of lore to it. I didn't think so either, until I went poking around in the book of notes that you pick up through the course of the event. Reading through that, I found some interesting things.
First, many elements of Aesthia mirror the "real world" in the game. For example, Wing City is described as the "sole center of civilization" on the Isle of Sky and is divided into East and West sides by the Keel River, making it a clear parallel to DisCity; which is frequently called the center of civilization and is divided into the West District and Eastside by the river in the Rust. The event also explicitly says that the Ice Plague in Aesthia is a representation of Etti's Mania. If we extrapolate that to the rest of the world, other parallels can be drawn, possibly hinting at unrevealed lore about the real world of the game.
- The Celestial Well is described as a "huge cavern… Many adventurers have ventured into it… but only a handful of them have made it back." It is connected to the frozen world below the Isle of Sky and the Ice Plague gets worse the deeper one goes, making it a parallel to the DisSea, which is possibly connected to the Phantom Moon.
- Dragonstones are an energy-dense resource that are also used as currency, like the Hypercube. It is said that Dragonstones "came from the Dragon of Genesis' blood", which further supports the speculation that Hypercubes have a biological origin.
- Welkin City was formerly the largest city on the Isle of Sky until it was destroyed by the Ice Plague. If Wing City is DisCity, then Welkin City may be the city of Maria, which was destroyed by the Perishing Star.
- When the Ice Plague began, the sun disappeared, but the "ring-shaped" Blessing Sun "descended" and provided hope to the survivors. Its shape and sudden appearance after the onset of the plague make it a clear metaphor for the Black Ring, but its role as a provider of hope seems incongruous with this calamitous phenomenon. However, the language of providing hope tracks very closely to how the game describes Keylan, who discovered the Hypercube — likely from within BR-000 — and thus brought hope that humanity could survive in the new age.
- Seven years after the onset of the Ice Plague, the corrosion suddenly sped up (possibly a reference to the DisSea Explosion), which led some to flee the Isle of Sky to the smaller surrounding islands, which remain totally untouched by the plague even as the rest of the Isle of Sky is completely frozen over. A year later, Welkin City's castellan abolished all skyports that could bring people to the other islands. These islands are possibly a metaphor for Paradeisos, which holds the secret supreme power over DisCity and is extremely strict about who is allowed access.
However, in addition to all that, the most intriguing implications relate to the possible identities and motivations of Parma and Keylan.
- The "Survivor's Handbook" notes that are collected in the event are written by the lone survivor of Welkin City, who escaped its destruction due to the "special nature of their body". The "Unnamed Survivor" tried to create a "floating city" after the disaster, which failed but allowed him to salvage a special power source. After that, he determined that the only way to save the world was to create a new Dragon of Genesis. He was accused of madness, and thus decided that those who refused to help him should "become my nourishment", and that "the future world will be grateful for your sacrifice."
- The final Survivor's Handbook note is signed "C", as are all of the "Mysterious Message" notes. The Mysterious Message notes are all clearly written by Cyrus, making these two characters one and the same.
- Cyrus's attempts to recreate the Dragon of Genesis required a vessel of its power, which became the Dragon of Calamity that worsened and allowed him to control the Ice Plague. The mysterious energy source which he used for his "floating city" project is the key to this power over the plague.
- The actions of the survivor, attempting to create a city that could withstand the calamity, are strongly suggestive of Keylan, the founder of DisCity and discoverer of the Hypercube. It is possible that Keylan realized DisCity could not survive in the new era long-term, even with Hypercubes as a power source.
- It is also possible that the "floating city" does not refer to DisCity at all, since Wing City is its clear parallel. In this case, the floating city may be the Underground City. As a known founder of cities, it would not be out of the question for Keylan to be involved with its creation during the time that he delved into BR-000.
- Cyrus's attempt to recreate the Dragon of Genesis by creating a strong enough vessel track very closely to Parma's sinister goal of summoning the great existence through the means of creating powerful Sinners that are "worthy" of being used for his purposes and feeding Corpuses to each other to concentrate their strength. Parma's bizarre regenerative biology is also reminiscent of the survivor's "special nature of their body."
- Given these two parallels, it suggests that Doctor Keylan and Parma may be the same person. In this case, it would mean that Keylan's early death may be a fabrication by the DisCity authorities after they rejected his plans to summon the great existence, in order to cover up the fact that the city's founding hero had gone rogue.
- When the Chosen One/Chief defeats Cyrus in the game's first round, Etti says that she will make them into the new Cyrus. This may hint at a possible fate for the Chief as they continue to accumulate pieces of the great existence inside their body.
- Cyrus's decision to work with the Chosen One in order to reach the real Dragon of Genesis may also foreshadow a future collaboration between the Chief and Parma, as Parma has indicated that he is content with the Chief continuing to devour great existences because it advances his goal regardless.

2023.06.03 22:24 saintsinner40k Moving This Month To PA: Things to Do Around Washington
So after planning it for the better part of the year we have secured everything for moving to washington PA, & will be there by the end of june. Me & my girlfriend are fairly nerdy folks, but have spent the last few years in utah. Shes an army brat so has been everywhere, & I'm originally from kentucky(both of us landed in utah for work)
One thing we are excited for is just exploring PA in general, & learning what fun things there are to do in the area. The biggest complaint we have had about utah is everything here is so cookie cutter & the variety of things to do isnt high. Neither of us are into sports of any sort, or huge outdoorsy types. Though I do want to explore some of state parks, rivers, etc because I've missed the green living in the desert for a decade.
Things like fairs, major regional events in western PA, & any little fun places that only locals would really be aware of. In my hometown we had a bar that had walls of old 80s arcade games in it, located in an out of the way area of town, stuff like that.

2023.06.03 22:17 GoastRiter [GUIDE] Living Large in Los Santos: Unleashing Chaos. Making Friends and Rediscovering the Thrill of GTA Online!
If you're reading this, perhaps you're like me. You have most things you want in GTA Online. You've "done it all". And now you're bored.
But... have you *really* done it all? Turns out, most of us haven't. There's so much to do in this game, and it's easy to get stuck in old habits that prevent us from discovering everything there is to do in Los Santos!
So I began writing down all my ideas for having fun in the game, and basically use these suggestions as guidelines to always find something new to do. It has completely reinvigorated my joy for the game, and I hope it can help you do the same!
If you're having trouble with motivation or inspiration, then I suggest picking something at random from the list and just doing it! You might disccover that you love it, just like I did!
And if you have anything more to add, please share your comments so that we can all help build this list together. :)
Let's go!
- Break Your Habits: Most people have a routine that they repeat over and over again until they get burned out and bored with the game! Your number one goal for having fun must be to break your old habits!
- Grind Less: If you've played for a long time, there's absolutely zero reason to grind big piles of useless money. People often develop bad habits where they finally grind so much that they forget to have fun. The "wonder" of the world completely vanishes when everything becomes about optimal times and optimal routes and optimal mission rotations. Relax! Start exploring everything that the game has to offer instead! Dare to do the "less optimal" routes, and have the courage to stop stressing about the "time efficiency" when you do the game's content. Sure, perhaps you can do a mission in 2 minutes with an Oppressor Mk2, but why not relax, put on a podcast, and do a relaxing 5 minute drive instead? Relax and have fun!
- Switch Off the Business Mindset: Why grind at all? Why do businesses at all? What do you really need the money for, whatsoever? If it feels like grinding, do something else that's more fun for you! Stop thinking about the money and start thinking about the real-world fun you're having! Start actually enjoying all the things you've previously grinded for! Perhaps you might enjoy treating GTA as a racing simulator where you mostly do challenges/race maps instead? There's so much more to do that isn't purely related to earning money!
- Accept All Invites: When you see invites to races, challenges, missions, etc, accept them! You will broaden your horizons about what you can do in the game, and you will often make the newbies very happy! Of course, if it turns out they're a hopelessly stupid newbie who keeps dying and never improves, then sure, I'd suggest leaving the heist to save your time and sanity. But most of the time, the other players will be smart enough to learn quickly. You can easily make great, new friends this way!
- Protect the Newbies: If you see someone doing a sales mission in a public lobby, why not fly over there in a powerful airborne vehicle (or heck, a missile-equipped Toreador car), and then follow them as their bodyguard against any griefers that may appear!
- Join People's CEO/MC: You can list yourself as "looking for work" via the interaction menu, which will alert other people that there's someone looking for work in the session. You can then join them and help people out with their missions, which is often a fun and relaxing activity for a while!
- Get a Crew: Look around for a crew of like-minded people. They exist. There are crews that specialize in heisting with competent players. There are crews that focus on racing. There are crews for Arena War. There are crews that only do LS Car Meet challenges/races. There's even crews specialized in doing sales missions together, by helping each other with business sales, if that's your thing! Finding a group of people with a compatible mindset and interests really pays off in the end!
- Switch Sessions: You can jump between multiple public sessions until you find one that matches your mood. Perhaps a nice, quiet sessions without griefers, perfect for doing sales missions? Or maybe one where there's a group of people that are actively doing something fun, which you can join in on? Don't just settle for your session. Explore what's out there!
- Do the Stupid Things: Grab your friends or some randoms, and challenge each other to do the most stupid and random things you can think of. The game is a sandbox. So start acting like it! For example, why not challenge each other with things like "everyone starts at the beach without any vehicles, your goal is to get to the Senora Desert convenience store, and you're only allowed to use stolen vehicles, the first person to reach the desert wins", or how about "everyone jumps from the Maze Bank Tower and your goal is to ride your parachute all the way to the ferris wheel". Is that even possible? Who knows! Let's find out!
- Become a Map Creator: If you've had fun making random challenges in freeroam, why not make them into more formal challenges, by creating actual maps? The map creator is very advanced. You can modify the world, add checkpoints anywhere you want, you could make a bicycle race, add pedestrians, enable weapon wheel usage, add parachute jumps, stunt jumps, survival modes, etc. Go wild!
- River Racing: The game has two epic rivers that start at the "Alamo Sea" (desert lake) and head west out to the ocean. Why not do a race with some friends? Get the Blazer Aqua amphibious quad bike and start at the desert, then race through one of the rivers, which is full of fun jumps. Next, decide on a destination (such as the Del Perro Pier) and do the rest of the drive on roads to see who gets there first.
- Stop Flying: Whenever a game lets you fly, you end up skipping huge amounts of content and world design and just flying directly above it all. That's nice if you want to get somewhere efficiently, but it really breaks the game's immersion. Try driving everywhere instead!
- Learn to Fly: Many players are awful at flying (especially the helicopters). Why not practice your flying skills? Perhaps try landing your helicopter at very tight spots, on rooftops, and other fun locations!
- Use Motorcycles: They're more thrilling than cars, because crashing actually has consequences. They're also very fast and agile, which feels awesome while driving through the city!
- Oppressor MK1: Fly around the map, trying to create your own challenges such as flying over the water or climbing Mount Chiliad.
- Climb the Mountain: Find various fun vehicles and attempt to climb Mount Chiliad in them. There's lots of fun to be had with motorcycles at the mountain!
- BMX Tricks: There are so many skate parks and BMX bicycle stunt locations in the city. Why not look at some BMX stunt videos for inspiration?
- Throw Away the GPS: Stop staring at the minimap while driving! This is super fun. Let's say that you need to get to Simeon's shop. Instead of opening up the world map and setting a map marker and following the GPS line like a lemming, try to train yourself to navigate the city! Drive the streets, look at the surroundings and actually navigate! It's so much fun and you'll feel way more relaxed. The city will also feel way more immersive. You can even modify the minimap via "Settings: Display: Radar = Blips", which hides the map so that you can't see the shape of the streets by glancing at the minimap anymore. You can even disable it completely, but unfortunately it also hides the healthbar if you do that.
- Use First Person: You can change the game's camera mode to first person, which is a really unique and immersive way to play the game. Steal some cars and go cruising! It will feel like an entirely different game when you get used to it!
- Take Selfies: Find beautiful locations and attempt to take great screenshots, with perfect framing and composition! You can use the game's built-in snapmatic camera, or you can use your regular screenshot key instead! Collecting photos of your adventures is a nice way to remember where you've been!
- Businesses: There are so many businesses in the game, and it's easy to forget about them after a while. Look at your businesses and begin doing their sourcing and sales missons again! Most of us quit them because they're very grindy, but after a long time away from them, they'll feel fresh again. And they'll feel much more relaxing if you vary between your different businesses and you only do one or two missions at a time, to never get bored.
- Nightclub: Do the promotion/popularity missions, which involve going around town and promoting the nightclub, or helping to remove unwanted or drunk guests from the club. All of that improves your popularity, which improves the passive income you're earning from the club!
- Get the DJs: The nightclub has multiple DJs. Why not unlock them all? Their missions are very fun, and you'll earn new music for your club.
- Bunker: Why not do some manual supply missions, just to relax and have fun? Sure, the optimal way to make money with the bunker is to buy the supplies and do "better" things with your time instead of sourcing supplies, but why does everything have to be about ultimate efficiency all the time? If you're a long-time player, you already have lots of money and you need new things to do!
- Contact Missions: So many people don't even know that you can get missions by calling NPCs on the phone. It's named "contact missions" and they can be very fun. I recommend calling Dax and doing "Request Work" from him, because his missions are very varied and after you've done enough you get various important rewards, such as upgrades for your Acid Lab business.
- CEO/VIP Work: When you're a CEO, you can start SecuroServ missions via the interaction menu. There's lots of fun ones! For example, why not get your favorite car, relax and do the Sightseer mission, seeing where the map markers will take you while you enjoy the relaxing drive? The mission gives you 15 minutes, which is plenty of time to take the scenic route.
- Terrorbyte Missions: Another forgotten relic! The terrorbyte has lots of fun missions which are very good for variation. They used to be the best "active" way to earn money in GTA. Most players who grinded those missions have only done the "optimal rotation", but how about actually doing all of the available missions for fun?
- Rockstar Jobs: There are so many high-quality maps, races and challenge modes in the game. Explore the official list of RockstaCurated jobs in the game's pause menu. There's a ton of them!
- Community Jobs: There's a ton of cool community maps in the game. Remember to favorite the ones you liked so that you can easily start the same again!
- Auto Shop: Do the customer car customization and delivery jobs, and do the heists! They can be done solo.
- MC Club: Do the customer motorcycle customization and delivery jobs.
- Vehicle Warehouse: Do the Import/Export car theft and sales missions. Be sure to use the trick that ensures you only get high-end cars (permanently fill the warehouse with every worthless sourced car in the game, then you will only get high-end cars after that).
- Acid Lab: The best passive income business in the game. Spend some time doing Dax's contact missions to fully upgrade your lab's efficiency and it will become very profitable. Then mix up your gameplay between both sourcing Acid supplies or buying them. And do the sales missions.
- Franklin's Agency: Do the Dr. Dre story missions, then do 201x Security Contract missions until you've unlocked the highest amount of passive daily income (it goes up by $100 every time you do a mission, capped at $20,000 after having done 201 contracts).
- Payphone Hits: They're unlocked after doing at least 3 Security Contract missions. Then you can pick up assassination contracts from ringing payphones. They're very profitable.
- Weekly Time Trials: Do the camotorcycle time trial and the RC car time trial every week, they're a good way to learn how to drive and they give a nice bit of money! Remember that you can hold a key to respawn at the start of the race before the time has ended, if you're sure that you won't make it in time.
- Daily Objectives: In your interaction menu, look at the Objectives and complete them. They're a good way to be inspired to do things you might not do otherwise.
- Daily Collectible Hunts: G's Cache (hunt for the hidden street cache), Kosatka submarine treasure hunt, Street dealer (find it and sell to it every day), etc.
- Get a Fresh Look: Create a new character outfit (clothes, hairstyle, tattoos, mask).
- Use Different Weapons: Challenge yourself to use different weapons than the same old, boring weapon you always use. For example, how about only using the Heavy Revolver? Make those shots count!
- Modify Your Weapons: Change their styles and attachments.
- Tune Your Precious Car: You might have a "perfectly tuned" car that you've been driving for years and that you're always using. Why not modify it a bit? Put a different livery on it, and some different colors at least? What felt "fresh" two years ago would just be contributing to a feeling of "staleness" today. Freshen things up!
- Ride of the Day: Most long-time players have around a hundred vehicles, but most of them collect dust. Why not set fun "challenge" rules for yourself, such as randomly selecting a vehicle and using only that vehicle on that real-life day?
- Outfit of the Day: Why not make it your goal to create a new character "outfit of the day" (or week) whenever you log in? It's a great way to get a fresh feeling every time you play!
- Minigames: How about some Golf, Tennis, Darts or Arm Wrestling?
- Gang Attacks: Find a gang and eliminate them!
- Stash Houses: Find the stash houses and raid them for resources for your businesses.
- Parachute: Go somewhere high up and do a parachute dive! Better yet, look for the Junk Energy Skydives challenges on the map, or do Dom's parachute challenge (which is a special skydive at a random location).
- San Andreas Flight School: Do the flight school challenges! They're at the Los Santos Airport, at the airplane icon!
- Gun Range Challenges: Complete the Bunker's and Ammo-Nation Gun Range shooting challenges!
- Gun Range with Friends: Challenge a friend to the gun range mini-games, where you compete to see who is the most accurate!
- MC Club Missions: Form a MC club with at least one friend, then ride in formation and start MC missions via the interaction menu.
- MC Businesses: Yes, they're the most hated businesses in the game, but why not do them a little bit? You could do a little bit of supplying and a few small sales missions, to ensure that you have small sales. Or, team up with friends and take turns helping each other do larger sales.
- Racing: Do Open Wheel, Stunt Races, Transform Races, and Regular Races. There are so many different kinds of races in the game! The transform races are the newest feature, and are very cool, since you might drive a supercar down the street to the airport, then transform into a plane and fly through the sky, and other epic things, all in the same race map!
- LS Car Meet: Do the challenges, races and rank up your LS Car Meet rank. Try to win the Prize Ride!
- Lobby Car Meets: You can try arranging car meets with other people in the lobby, to check out each other's cars! Just beware of griefers. You may want to do it in the LS Car Meet building to avoid the griefer explosions, or just switch to a lobby with cooler people.
- Arcade: Play the arcade games and try to beat them! Some of them have hidden rewards for completing the game or completing certain challenges.
- Achievements: Look at the pause menu's Stats - Awards section, and pick some award that you'll try to complete! There are so many fun challenges in there, such as attempting to parachute for more than 3 minutes, or robbing every store on the map (you can see the checkmarks on the map to know if you've robbed those stores).
- Stunt Jumps: There are 50 stunt jump locations on the map, which unlock a few rewards and are also really fun to complete!
- Unlock Vehicle Colors: You may have noticed that certain colors are locked behind challenges, such as winning a certain amount of races. Why not finally unlock those colors you've always wanted but were always "too lazy" to unlock? You'll get to enjoy some flashy, new vehicle colors!
- Arena War: Very fun, but unfortunately hard to get a group going for it. But if you can get a group, Arena War is super fun.
- Freemode Battles: Join a large lobby and just do whatever you want while you're waiting for freemode battles, which start every 20 minutes and will alternate between Business Battles and Freemode Challenges. Then attempt to win those battles! Events will only trigger when there are at least 4 players outdoors, and they cannot be in the same CEO/MC.
- Ride with Strangers: Pick your nicest car and then drive around and invite strangers to either ride with you or do impromptu street race 1v1 challenges.
- Freemode Map Markers: Look at the map. There are icons and glowing markers everywhere on the map/streets. Visit whichever icon is nearest your current location and see what's there! Remember that you can go "On Call" (queue) for public races/missions while you're waiting for them to fill up, which lets you stay in Freemode while you're waiting.
- Weekly Bonuses: Look at the Rockstar Newswire to see what the weekly bonus money is, and focus on doing that business/event for a while, to earn some money!
- Max Your Stats: Get all your stats to maximum! Most people haven't finished Strength, which can be gradually maxed for fun by simply punching every civilian you see.
- Invade the Military: Invade the military base at Fort Zancudo with some friends, and make it your mission to steal a Lazer jet plane.
- Heists: Do some heist preps or full heists for fun! Many of them can be casually setup while solo, which is very relaxing! Most of the newer heists can even be completed while solo!
- Change Your Heist Routes: You don't have to always do the same approach over and over again. Most heists have a lot of different approaches. For example, have you ever successfully completed the "Silent and Sneaky" approach at the Casino? Start exploring the different possibilities out there!
- Yellow Mission Markers: The yellow letters/markers on the map show the location of significant storyline missions (such as ULP, Agency, Acid Lab, etc). Visit those locations and start completing the stories that GTA Online has to offer!
- Do the Jobs: Go to "Online - Jobs" in the pause menu, and explore the available options!
- Answer the Calls: There are so many fun missions for English Dave, the various DJs at the Music Locker, the Casino staff, etc. In most cases, you'll also get some kind of reward if you finish them all! You might even get them to stop calling you when you've finished everything, which is a nice reward in itself!
- Check Your Texts/Emails: There's a lot of "mini missions" that arrive via emails/text messages. For example, Simeon asks you to steal certain cars every day. There's also an early game treasure hunt which starts through an email.
- Use Quick Join: There's an app on your phone named "Quick Join". It queues you for a rapid, random job. It's a great way to explore new content, meet new people and to help them with the queues for their own missions.
- Browse the Internet: There are a ton of funny parody websites in GTA Online's internet browser. Explore what's out there!
- Watch TV/Movies: Have you seen all the TV shows and cinema movies yet? If not, relax and have some fun! :)
- Customize Your Phone: You can change the theme, background, ringtone and other settings for your in-game phone. Why not change things a bit?
- Don't Be Annoyed: The phone calls and missions may seem annoying, but try actually relaxing and doing them. Listen to the phone calls. Call the NPCs. Do their missions! They are pretty nice and chill activities which gives you something to do in the game and some challenges.
- Use a Gamepad: If you're a PC player, you'll know that most of the game is too easy, since the aiming and enemy difficulty was balanced for console (gamepad) players. Try using a gamepad on PC! Not only will your driving and flying be massively improved, you'll also have a much more fun fun time when fighting enemies, since you can't just "360 No Scope" everything with your superior pointing device anymore. You'll even get immersive rumble that lets you feel the engine of your cars! How cool is that?! The game's options lets you finetune the sensitivity and aiming mode, and true professionals will use "Free Aim" which completely disables the auto-aiming.
- Meet Different People: If you're mostly a heist person, look for someone who loves cars and start hanging out with them to absorb some of their passion for another aspect of the game. You might learn to love car tuning too!
- Trade Prices: Many vehicles in the game have trade prices which give you a massive discount on the vehicle if you complete the challenge first. So set your eyes on a nice vehicle and do its challenges for fun! The discount you're earning will be like earning a huge sum of money that you put towards that specific vehicle. For example, a 2 million dollar discount on a vehicle you wanted is the same as if you had just earned 2 million dollars that you decided to spend on that vehicle! So don't sleep on the trade price discounts! They're a fun challenge with a very high monetary value!
- Bunker Research: If you have a bunker, try doing the research! You can unlock a ton of cool and super useful vehicle and weapon modifications! The explosive and incendiary ammo are must-haves.
- Mobile Operations Missions: The Mobile Operations Center is a forgotten business. It exists in your bunker, but you can request it via your Interaction Menu. Enter the truck's trailer, and then start missions from the computer in the command room!
- Avenger: Take your Avenger out for a drive! It's an extremely powerful, heavily armored aircraft and can be customized with various fun additions.
- Relaxing Yacht: Why not purchase or upgrade your yacht, and chill on it for a while with some friends? It even has lots of fun water vehicles parked in the water at the yacht, and helicopter pads for easy travel.
- Yacht Missions: You can start the fun "A Superyacht Life" mission series from the captain on your yacht. You'll even get a fun Yacht Captain outfit if you complete them all as host.
- Special Vehicle Work: The Vehicle Warehouse provides various epic missions whose "main" purpose is to unlock trade prices on various weaponized vehicles, but the missions themselves are fun too. Most players only do the specific missions for the vehicles they wanted to buy. Why not complete them all at least once, or play them again for fun?
- Collectibles: The map is full of collectible items, such as USB music sticks, playing cards, action figures, signal jammers (to unlock the best hacker for the Casino heist), etc. Why not relax and do them all for fun? They all unlock something fun or useful!
- Dream Vehicle: Relax, do some research about vehicles are available in the game, and set your eyes on a new "dream vehicle". Then work towards earning it and pimping it just the way you want it! Having a goal is fun!
- Test Drives: Check out the weekly test drives at the "Luxury Autos" shop, at Simeon's "Premium Deluxe Motorsport", and at the "LS Car Meet". You might find your new dream vehicle!
- Collect Vehicle Sets: You might have fun building specific collections, such as all Benny's vehicles in the game, etc. Setting goals for yourself about specific vehicle collections gives you something to strive for, and means that there's a lot of new things you'll need to buy and tune, which will keep you busy for a while!
- Sell Vehicles: Let's be honest, there are a lot of stinkers in your collection. Why not sell them? Just beware of the game's daily sell limit. The limit will be hit somewhere around 30-40 cars sold in 24 real-life hours. I'd suggest only selling 1-5 cars per real life day, which ensures that you'll never face the anger of Rockstar, and you'll have more time to make deliberate choices about which vehicles to get rid of. You'll also be getting roughly 50% of your previously spent money back for each sold vehicle! I'd recommend forcing yourself to drive a vehicle for a while before selling it, and looking at its customizations to see if you'd like it if you changed its style a bit, so that you're absolutely sure that you don't want it.
- Organize Your Vehicles: A lot of people have a complete mess in their garages. Why not begin sorting your cars, such as placing all your best cars at the premium display spots in your office garage? Perhaps organizing the floors by vehicle type? You can have lots of fun and you'll get a much better overview of your available vehicles.
- Relocate Yourself: If you've been staring at the same, old, boring spot for years, it could be fun to move! Most players choose the ugly, industrial, "optimal" locations. Why not relax and move to the beautiful beach instead? The Lombank office, the Insert Coin arcade, the Vespucci Beach MC clubhouse, the Del Perro Nightclub, the Strawberry auto shop, and the Vespucci Canals agency are all very beautiful locations with amazing interior and exterior design and great views! They're also very well placed for all of their business purposes!
- Browse in Person: When you're looking at real estate on the internet, things look very boring and impersonal. Why not take a drive around the city and look at the "real estate for sale" map markers in person? Perhaps you'll find a great new location for your home! However, if it's a multi-apartment house, I recommend checking YouTube for the various room views, to find the room with the best view before you buy it.
- Upgrade Your Properties/Businesses: If you haven't yet upgraded all of the equipment for a business, it's a great idea to upgrade it to improve its efficiency and safety. Or how about changing the interior design for fun, to replace the "same old daily view" with a fresh new look?
- Buy Every Arcade Machine: There are so many fun minigame machines for your arcade. Why not buy them all and pimp that place out? It's a nice place to relax, and even get some rewards for completing the games.
- Get All Passive Businesses: Why not work towards getting and fully upgrading all of the passive incomes in the game? Such as the Nightclub (which automatically generates money in the safe based on popularity, and generates MC business products to sell from its basement), the Acid Lab (which can be restocked with a simple phone call to Mutt, and has easy sales missions), the Arcade (which generates $5000 per in-game day when you've filled all of its interior slots with arcade machines, which can all be the same machine if you want), the Agency (which generates up to $20000 per in-game day based on how many Security Contracts you've completed), Street Dealers (finding the daily street dealer is much faster than regular sales missions, and they pay more than regular missions), Bunker (you can resupply it via one click with the Master Control Terminal in your Arcade, and then simply sell the product when it's still less than 25% full, thus guaranteeing a single sales vehicle every time). An added bonus of having passive businesses is the fact that they let you do other things in the game, such as doing racing and other fun challenges, while your businesses passively produce for you!
- Start Fresh: Did you know that your online account has two character slots? You can actually start fresh by simply withdrawing all of you banked money to your primary character, so that there's $0 in the bank. Then create a new character, which will begin at $0. Then relax and enjoy the ride of building a new empire. I suggest doing things differently this time. For example, if your primary character owns every business, why not just focus on a specific business this time, such as the CEO businesses (cargo crates), or just the vehicle warehouse, etc? Take this opportunity to simplify and avoid grinding, while still building a new playstyle to keep things fresh! Why not skip the Kosatka, so that you don't have the "easy Cayo Perico money" either? This slower, more deliberate, old-school way of making money will ensure that you have lots of fun, and you can set your own goals for what vehicles you want to save up money for on your new character! If you get tired of the grind, just switch back to your primary character again and enjoy the wealth. You can even delete your secondary character again to start fresh as many times as you want to.
- Spend Your Money: Having $100 million unused in the bank is just a completely pointless number, and is basically worth the same as having $0 in the bank if you aren't even using it. Unless your goal is to collect a specific amount of money for fun, I'd instead suggest that you actually start spending absolutely all of your money! Because if you can succeed in being perpetually slightly low on cash, you'll have much more reason to care about doing your businesses when you do want to buy something, which in turn drives your motivation to play again! Having a huge stash of money is bad for your motivation to play! Having a huge sash of money is like having an endless "Rich Daddy's Credit Card" in your wallet. Get rid of that credit card, buy a bunch of fun stuff, and enjoy the game more as a result!
- Play the Story: The vast majority of GTA Online players have barely touched the offline story. Why not relax with the story from time to time, gradually making your way through the epic offline story that started it all?
- Take a Break: If you're truly not finding any fun anymore, then take a break, perhaps a few weeks or a month is all you need to enjoy the game again! They also release content updates roughly twice per year, so you'll always have something new to return to in the future! :)

2023.06.03 22:15 GoastRiter [GUIDE] Living Large in Los Santos: Unleashing Chaos.

2023.06.03 21:36 MardiGrasMoneybags Realistic Expectations
I have to ask: What level of responsibility does your spouse have in daily responsibilities? My wife stays at home, and I have a pretty demanding job that’s home office but never ending tasks that need to be done/calls/emails/etc. Pretty stressful career honestly. During the day, her normal duties are feeding the kids and pretty much making sure they’re always taken care of, which these days is watching a lot of shows/movies while she sits on her phone.. Summer is different now that school’s out. For context, she does have a social media addiction & is constantly drawn to her phone. During school days, she would be on the couch while they were at school with TikTok videos and Netflix series playing. Same thing now with summer, except they are kids’ shows and she’s still on her phone. She’ll interact with them sometimes with a game, or go to the park, or summer workbook learning which is about 1-3 hours per week realistically, but I just wish that sort of activity was more often. I feel I would be more involved in interaction if roles were reversed & she was tied to an office chair. Other than that she does all the cooking and does dishes 75% of the time.. which I’m very thankful for. When I do the dishes, however, I wash them correctly rather than piling everything (even hand wash items that get ruined) into the dishwasher, and clean the surrounding areas of the sink/stove where funk has built up over time. She does let them pile up and does them about 2x per week when it starts looking overwhelming. We use a lot of paper plates, so she could easily clean as she goes to make life easier, but it’s more of a procrastination problem. There’s also a weird expectation that stuff she drops will automatically be picked up by someone else.. fruit, a top to a thermos, you name it she just leaves it. I do all of our laundry, but sometimes it’s hard to keep up when clothes are being slung on the ground, or dirty items put in hampers with clean clothes, etc. She’ll step over the messes in the house & I’ll be up at nights or even on a Friday night cleaning.. causing resentment. Then the weekend will come and it’s slam packed with events, or just me spending time with the kids and she wants to chill like it’s her time to relax but it seems like that’s what she’s been doing all week. Then more things get tabled because I’m trying to make up for lost time with our children & have fun with them. Essentially, I therefore never really get a break from week to week. The kids will need to go to sleep, but she’ll procrastinate on her phone and be expecting me to go brush their teeth and get them in bed—next thing you know it’s 9:30-10:00 @ night. Or want to tag team a simple thing like brushing teeth. I used to, but started to veto that recently b/c it’s almost like.. wtf, this is one of the few things you could do each day. Daily tasks just seem so minimal. Almost zero deep cleaning jobs ever. It’s rare that she’ll clean the stove, sink, counters, floors, toilets, bathrooms, all that. Rare as in maybe 5-10% of all times that’s needed to be done depending on the job since we’ve been together 11 years. Is this standard in married life? It’s almost always a cause for our arguments, and I feel like some of my friends’ wives are a lot more motivated to upkeep of the house even when they have full time jobs. I love her but it just feels like laziness takes over and there’s nothing I can do to change her ways. She gets very defensive about me mentioning anything, I believe which is a tactic to continue the slacking behavior. It’s like she’s trying to relax all the time, and just expects me to carry the weight but I’m so burnt out at this point and it has been really taxing on our relationship lately. Thanks for your honest input. tl;dr

2023.06.03 21:08 FaAlt Still dealing with golf course that decided it's a concert venue. Looking for advice.
I made a lengthy post here:
https://www.reddit.com/homeowners/comments/13hjxvw/golf_course_near_me_decided_its_an_outdoo Every single Friday and Saturday night the golf course near me has outdoor concerts blasting loud music that you can hear over the TV with all doors and windows shut. I work during the week and Friday and Saturday nights are pretty much the only time I have to relax and have some peace and quiet. I feel like I can't even enjoy my own home now.
Since the last post I made several noise complaints with the city police. They showed up and an officer called me back telling me that the golf course showed them a noise permit and there was nothing he could do about it. After that I called the department of health for the city and talked with the person that is in charge of granting noise permits and he told me that the golf course did not have one, and noise permits are generally granted for recurring events. He said that he would look into it, but it gets complicated since I am in the county and the golf course is in the city. There are houses that are on the city side of the golf course, but they are further away from the concert venue. Basically the golf course has the stage and loud speakers pointed towards all the houses that are considered county property.
He said if I knew anyone in city limits it would be helpful if they submit complaints. I don't know anybody on that side of the golf course though.
I'm not sure where to go from here. They have another concert planned for tonight that they are selling tickets to. Last week when they had one I drove by the parking lot and there were about 200 cars in the parking lot, so it's not exactly a small event just for members. They are probably making a lot of money from these concerts, but they aren't zoned to be an outdoor concert venue.
What else can I do?

2023.06.03 21:02 No-Distribution6191 BETA LAUNCH TONIGHT!!! Metro State RP DOJ vMenu (NEW) TONS of cars/eup/mlo's all optimized! Semi-Serious RP vMenu Server. Join a New and GROWING community that values you as a member and player!
| https://i.redd.it/emaqqd72pu3b1.gif Metro State RP is a brand new DOJ based vMenu server. This server is currently wrapping up with the final touches on development. We are ready to launch right now. We just need more people. Currently sitting at 98 people, We are aiming for 100+ for launch. We just need more people: -We currently have BCSO, LSPD, and SAST that are starting up and looking for officers. -BCSO has waived their applications and are allowing candidates to skip straight to training. -LSPD seemingly is having a slower start to things. Could use help with command related things I think and help setting up the department. -FD is starting up, but will be officially launched after launch the server. -If you are interested in starting a department or business. I am all for it. I currently do have a short pause on development of these departments just until PD and FD is 100% squared away and confirmed to be good to go/ bug-free and its operating relatively smoothly. I am still assigning “ownership” of these roles and helping everywhere else I can. -Not currently looking for anymore police department or Fire Department heads. -Everything else is open. -Regular civs, you are the life-blood of the server. I listen to regular players just as much as admins. -Accepting whitelist gang apps very quickly. -Could use more staff as well, but they should also be involved elsewhere in the servecommunity. -EUP Devs would be a god-send. Ideally if you know how to optimize or if you create. We should talk:) -I am looking for help with vehicles. I don’t mind teaching people the ropes, but extra brownie points if you know how to make good handling files or optimize, as it takes me a very long time to do… In the rare occurrence you are a vehicle modeler. We should talk 📷 The server is in a good state already. Optimized, mostly done with development just doing final touches. We have tons of MLO’s, including hidden ones, over 750 custom cars, EUP… and the best part, all optimized. ( I still have like 38 cars to go through and optimize.) However, I still need to balance all of them. TONS of awesome cars! -We have also added a lot of scripts and features that add to rp, simple things like /carry, /th, /piggyback, etc. -A ton of emotes, including props. -Other things like hiding in trunks, being able to push vehicles, attach them to tow trucks, GSR tests, etc. -Lots of small little rp focused scripts that I'm sure I'm forgetting. -We have activities that you can actually go do with friends, like mini-golf. Or hit up Dave and Busters and play some arcade games like Pac-Man, Tetris, or more modern game options. -All of these things are going to continue to grow as I add more in. -Sonoran CAD -VStancer -Working Doorlocks for businesses, PD, etc. This isn't going to be an overnight thing. It will take some time and effort. I have yet to find a community centered vMenu server that values and listens to their community beyond the paying members and admin friend groups. Again, I want to emphasize that the server, development wise is pretty much complete. … but, aside from that its just polishing. This will NOT be another fly-by-night vmenu server. Come see for yourself! Come check us out! See why we have 10+ people playing on the server creating RP before we have even launched. These guys are so anxious to play, we just have to wait one more day! Please dont hesitate to DM me if you have ANY questions or need ANY help at all. RVD wins after delivering a Five-Star Frog Splash from the top of a ladder through a table.)
World Heavyweight Championship:
Batista (c) vs Mr.Kennedy
(Mr.Kennedy wins a beat the clock challenge to become the #1 Contender for the World Heavyweight Championship by ensuring The Undertaker didn’t beat Finlay on time after providing a distraction. Kennedy says this is an opportunity he’s been waiting for to further rise in the WWE and his rise will be complete when he beats Batista at the Royal Rumble. World Heavyweight Championship:
Batista (c) vs Mr.Kennedy
(The Undertaker chooses to face the World Heavyweight Champion at WrestleMania. Batista claims it will be him and says it’ll be an honour to face The Deadman at WrestleMania but promises Taker will regret it because by choosing him, he’s chose his streak to die! Mr.Kennedy interrupts Batista and says he won’t be the World Heavyweight Champion facing The Undertaker, it’ll be him. Kennedy says it’s his destiny to bury The Deadman for good and Batista’s fantasy that he’ll end the streak will end at No Way Out. Batista promises to get rid of this distraction in Kennedy at No Way Out and will then focus on the biggest match of his career at WrestleMania. Batista wins here and after the match while celebrating his victory… GONG! The Undertaker appears and stares down Batista as No Way Out draws to a close.)

Punk says with all due to respect to Van Dam for as great as he’s been for ECW, it’s his time now whether RVD likes it or not. RVD tells CM Punk that he thinks he’s a phenomenal wrestler who has huge potential to succeed on ECW but his time isn’t now, no matter how much he believes it. CM Punk wins the ECW Championship in a very good 15 minute match. Both men shake hands after the match with Van Dam passing on the ECW torch to The Second City Saint.)
World Heavyweight Championship:
Batista (c) vs The Undertaker
(Batista says with all due respect to The Undertaker, his streak is coming to an end and he’ll further cement himself as the face of not only SmackDown but the entire company. Batista says he’ll not be intimidated by any sort of mind games Taker tries to play which is indeed the case. Taker tries to play mind games on The Animal but it doesn’t work in the slightest. Batista says he’s without doubt the biggest threat ever to The Undertaker’s streak and also goes on record to say he doesn’t fear The Undertaker like others have and he’s just another normal man in his eyes. Undertaker says despite Batista not being intimidated, he’s going to find out The Deadman isn’t any normal man and his ballsy pride will fall at the feet of the reaper when he once again wins gold in his illustrious career while keeping his WrestleMania streak in tact. Batista comes very close but in the end, The Undertaker wins the World Heavyweight Championship to go 15-0 at WrestleMania!)
Hair vs Hair Match for the Intercontinental Championship - Stone Cold Steven Austin is the Special Guest Referee:
Umaga (c) w/Armando Estrada & Vince McMahon vs Bobby Lashley w/Donald Trump
(Same build up as in real life but with Umaga’s Intercontinental Championship on the line. If Umaga wins, Donald Trump will have to shave his head. If Bobby Lashley wins, Vince McMahon will have to shave his. As much as Vince tries to screw Lashley, Austin ensures he doesn’t, stunners McMahon, stunners Umaga and Umaga then falls into a Spear from Lashley who then pins Umaga to win the Intercontinental Championship! After the match, Austin, Lashley and Trump shave McMahon’s head and celebrate with beers. Austin then stunners Trump and the crowd pops big time as he and Lashley continue to celebrate.)
Lumberjill Match for the Women’s Championship:
Mickie James (c) vs Melina
WWE Championship:
John Cena (c) vs Shawn Michaels
(Shawn Michaels wins a #1 Contender’s match against Edge and Randy Orton on Raw to earn this shot against John Cena at WrestleMania. In the build up, Shawn Michaels says it’s been 9 years since he’s been the WWE Champion and with him not having many years left ahead of him, he wants to be on top of the mountain again and feels he has a massive chip on his shoulder to win the big one again. Michaels says just like at WrestleMania 12, the boyhood dream will become a reality even at John Cena who he respects expense. John Cena says Shawn Michaels is an all time great, Mr. WrestleMania, The Showstopper! And it’ll be an honour to face him at WrestleMania but he’s not willing to let Shawn Michaels take his title in favour of a boyhood story that he’d be in favour of if it wasn’t at his expense. John Cena forces Michaels to submit to the STFU. WrestleMania draws to a close with Cena holding his title up high.)
Notes:
(PPV’s will no longer be brand exclusive.)
(The Hardy Boyz beat Rated-RKO to win the World Tag Team Championship on the Raw after WrestleMania.)
(Vince McMahon appoints Jonathan Coachman as the new GM of Raw.)
Backlash 2007
Date: 29/4/07
Location: Philips Arena, Atlanta, Georgia
WWE World Tag Team Championship:
The Hardy Boyz (c) vs MNM
(After the match, Johnny Nitro attacks Joey Mercury and officially ends MNM for good.)
Women’s Championship:
Mickie James (c) vs Melina
United States Championship:
MVP (c) vs Chris Benoit (By Disqualification)
(Benoit wins via DQ after MVP hit’s him with a low blow.)
Intercontinental Championship:
Bobby Lashley (c) vs Umaga w/Armando Estrada & Shane McMahon
(After WrestleMania, Umaga invokes his rematch clause for the Intercontinental Championship and Vince McMahon instructs him to utterly decimate Bobby Lashley for shaving his head with Austin at WrestleMania. Vince’s son Shane returns in the build up and says he’s the insurance policy to ensure Lashley pays for his actions and to also ensure that Umaga reclaims the championship. Bobby Lashley retains here despite Shane’s best attempts to cost him after delivering a devastating Spear to the Samoan Bulldozer.)
Extreme Rules Match for the ECW Championship:
CM Punk (c) vs Rob Van Dam vs Marcus Cor Von vs Elijah Burke
(After WrestleMania, CM Punk says that this is just the start of his rise in the WWE and one day he’ll go onto bigger things but right now, ECW is his home and he welcomes all challenges thrown his way. Vince McMahon interrupts and tells Punk he doesn’t like the thought of him being the face of ECW. Vince also says that Punk’s fantasy of going onto bigger and better things won’t happen while he’s in charge because he’s never WWE or World Championship material. McMahon says Punk will defend the ECW Championship at Backlash against 3 other men in an attempt to be proved right that Punk isn’t good enough. Vince chooses Rob Van Dam, Elijah Burke and Marcus Cor Von. Punk says Vince can stack the odds if he wants, he’ll overcome them and be the fighting champion he promised to be. CM Punk retains the championship after delivering a GTS to Cor Von.)
Cruiserweight Championship:
Chavo Guerrero (c) vs Brian Kendrick
Last Man Standing Match:
The Undertaker (c) vs Batista (Draw)
(On the SmackDown after WrestleMania, Batista interrupts The Undertaker and tells him “Congratulations, I want my rematch”. Taker nods in approval and the match is set. Teddy Long ups the stakes and announces this match will be contested in a Last Man Standing Match! Batista says Taker was the better man at WrestleMania but he took him to his limit and maintains The Deadman is like any normal man and he can slay him at Backlash. Taker promises it’ll be the same story as WrestleMania and Batista will Rest in Peace! This match ends in a draw after Batista spears Undertaker off the stage and both men fail to answer the referees count of 10.)
WWE Championship:
John Cena (c) vs Shawn Michaels vs Randy Orton vs Edge
(Shawn Michaels asks for another shot to face John Cena for the WWE Championship but is interrupted by Edge. Edge says Michaels lost at WrestleMania so he can get to the back of the line, it’s his turn to face John Cena and get revenge on him after losing the championship to him in his hometown back at Unforgiven. Randy Orton further interrupts and says Edge has also lost to John Cena so he can get to the back of the line too. Orton says he’s never faced Cena so it’s only right he gets the opportunity because he knows if he gets it, he’ll beat him! This causes tension between Edge and Orton as they’ve also just lost their titles and they officially split in the build up to this and start fighting every time they see each other. Jonathan Coachman says all 3 men have a case so at Backlash, John Cena will defend his title in a Fatal 4-Way. In all time classic main event, Shawn Michaels delivers a Sweet Chin Music to Cena who then falls on top of Orton and covers him to luckily retain the WWE Championship! Michaels can’t believe since he had the match won. Backlash draws to a close with Michaels walking backstage in utter disbelief and signals he’s not done with Cena yet.)
Notes:
(Mr. Kennedy loses the Money in the Bank briefcase against Edge on the May 7th 2007 episode of Raw.)
(The Undertaker and Batista have a rematch for the World Heavyweight Championship on the May 11th, 2007 episode of SmackDown inside of a Steel Cage. The match ends in a draw when both men escape the cage at the same time. After the match, Mark Henry returns and completely destroys an already beat up Undertaker. With a destroyed Taker down, an Ultimate Opportunist comes over from Raw and cashes in his Money in the Bank contract… Edge! Edge Spears The Undertaker twice to win the World Heavyweight Title. Druids then carry The Undertaker out of the arena and The Deadman is written off TV.)
And that’s part 44 over and done with guys. That was long, creative and an absolute pleasure to share with you great people in this community. I’ll be back very soon for part 45 where we’ll see Edge move to SmackDown, Great Khali NOT become the World Heavyweight Champion and a much better SummerSlam 2007. I also want to inform you guys that in the next part, you’ll also hear my opinion on Chris Benoit after the tragedy still sadly unfolds. Stay safe and stay tuned.

I truly do appreciate all those who do post the studies on CCR5 and CCL5 and what the effects are of allowing and / or disallowing this chemical inter-cellular communication to and / or from happening. These studies go a long way into deciphering, unveiling and understanding the truth about this immunoregulatory communication cascade. I feel like these are akin to rays of light that shoot across the din of darkness where much is spoken, but little is said and even less heard. Most of the vast deluge of information is of minimal consequence, but the information discussing this cellular communication signal, really is of massive consequence.
For example, take this shooting star for instance:
Barriers between Anti-CCR5 Therapy, Breast Cancer and Its Microenvironment and take note perrenialloser, these authors are not Chinese: by
Elizabeth Brett , Dominik Duscher , Andrea Pagani , Adrien Daigeler , Jonas Kolbenschlag , Markus Hahn . Many things are included in the article, but these are only a snippet:
"
CCL5 is a potent chemokine with a physiological role of immune cell attraction and has gained particular attention in R&D for breast cancer treatment. Its receptor, CCR5, is a well-known co-factor for HIV entry through the cell membrane*. Interestingly,*
biology research is unusually unified in describing CCL5 as a pro-oncogenic factor*, especially in breast cancer. In silico,*
in vitro and in vivo studies blocking the CCL5/CCR5 axis show cancer cells become less invasive and less malignant*, and the extracellular matrices produced are*
less oncogenic*. At present, CCR5 blocking is a mainstay of HIV treatment, but*
despite its promising role in cancer treatment, CCR5 blocking in breast cancer remains unperformed*.*
As with all other forms of cancer, prognosis is strongly influenced by the clinical stage at which the cancer is diagnosed. The later the cancer is diagnosed, the more likely it is that the patient will not recover from the disease. By acting as a classical chemotactic cytokine for T cells, eosinophils, basophils and other cells, CCL5 recruits leukocytes to the site of inflammation, induces proliferation of NK cells and is an HIV-suppressive factor released from CD8+ T cells. The receptor with the highest affinity for CCL5 is the CC motif chemokine receptor 5 (CCR5), being mainly expressed in T cells, smooth muscle endothelial cells, epithelial cells and parenchymal cells. The CCL5/CCR5 interaction facilitates inflammation, adhesion and migration of T cells in immune responses. CCR5 is involved in chronic diseases, cancers and COVID-19 infection. There is a wealth of evidence showing that CCL5 is co-opted in breast cancer and in many other types of tumors, such as pancreatic, ovarian, prostate and glioma cancer. In vitro and in vivo tests show that blocking or knocking down CCL5/CCR5 is detrimental to tumors such breast cancer and limits metastases. The possibility of targeting the CCL5/CCR5 axis and inducing an antitumor environment is therefore real but challenging. However, a CCR5 blocker that can be part of cancer therapy has yet to be developed. As introduced before, CCL5 is an extremely powerful chemoattractant with a physiologic role in recruiting immune cells in inflammatory or allergic circumstances CCL5 binds with high affinity to its main receptor CCR5, but also to CCR1, -3, -4, CD44 and GPR75. CCR5 is a seven-transmembrane G-protein-coupled receptor expressed on various cell types, such as T cells, macrophages, dendritic cells, eosinophils and microglia. The interaction between CCR5 and its high-affinity molecules (e.g., CCL5, CCL3, CCL4 and CCL8) results in G protein activation and a following boost of different signal transduction pathways. One of these is represented by NF-kB (Nuclear Factor kappa-light-chain-enhancer), in which CCL5 represents an important target gene. As mentioned before, the CCL5/CCR5 interaction facilitates cancer progression through several different mechanisms. CCL5/CCR5 interaction increases tumor dimensions, induces ECM remodeling, increases cellular migration and metastasis formation, supports cellular stemness and expansion along the tumor borders, confers on cancer cell resistance to therapies, decreases DNA damage, deregulates cellular energetics (metabolic reprogramming), promotes angiogenesis, recruits immune and stromal cells and induces the immunosuppressive polarization of macrophages. There is an unmatched level of evidence supporting the participation of all chemokines other than CCL5 in the construction, development and operation of the primary invasive breast tumor. CCL5 is also ubiquitous across breast cancer cases, being present at stages I, II and III, and over 95% of triple-negative breast tumors are CCR5+*.*
Belonging to a different pharmacological family, Leronlimab is a humanized igG4k monoclonal antibody also able to bind CCR5. Adams et al. recently reported some clinical trials testing Leronlimab in metastatic TNBC patients. The phase 1b/2 dose escalation (NCT03838367), Compassionate Use (NCT04313075) and the Basket Study (NCT04504942) were pooled in order to evaluate the drug’s safety and efficacy at 12 months. After the analysis of 28 metastatic TNBC patients, the authors showed that Leronlimab has significant antitumor activity. The clinical trials suggest that metastatic TNBC patients dosed with Leronlimab have a real clinical benefit with improved 1-year progression-free and overall survival and few treatment-emergent adverse events. Finally, after exploring the effect of Leronlimab on circulating tumor-associated cells (TACs) from peripheral blood, the authors revealed that Leronlimab resulted in a drop in circulating TACs in the majority of patients correlating with early therapy response. Within the tumor, cancer cells secrete CCL5 and sustain the proliferation of CCR5-positive cells, recruit T-regulatory cells and monocytes, cause osteoclast activation and bone metastasis, neo-angiogenesis and cancer cells dissemination. CCR5 is therefore overexpressed in breast, head, neck, gastric, esophageal, pancreatic and prostate cancer, colorectal carcinoma, melanoma, Hodgkin’s lymphoma, acute lymphocytic leukemia and other tumors. In the clinical setting, higher cytoplasmic CCR5 staining and CCR5 receptor levels correlate with poor prognosis in breast cancer and gastric adenocarcinoma patients. Even elevated levels of its main ligand CCL5 indicate poor prognosis in breast, cervical, prostate, ovarian, gastric and pancreatic cancer and metastatic colorectal carcinoma."

But here is the bit of light only we who have those polarized sun glasses can appreciate. On 12/7/22, Cyrus puts forth CytoDyn's Plans to get Leronlimab to market. Essentially, it is the
Investor Deck, filed with the
SEC and it lays out his game plan for bringing Leronlimab to the people. One of the main problems with this prognostic plan is that share holders can not see it unfolding. The reason for this is that the #1 Priority of this plan is to get the clinical hold on Leronlimab Lifted. This process is shielded from shareholder sight. The other problem is that many of the remaining goals of the Investor Deck are dependent on meeting the 1st goal, the #1 priority. Therefore, they too are shielded from shareholder's view. Therefore, shareholder's can's see the plan unfolding.
This is what Cyrus said, " "
9:25: We expect next year, 2023 to be catalyst driven in terms of growth and development for the company and we think that the table is set for a large number of significant developments to occur in early '23, including
the submission of our complete response to the partial clinical hold for HIV, new
additions to the leadership team, a
corporate rebranding, and then following those events, we plan on
initiating a NASH trial as well as continuing the advancement of the long acting CCR5 molecule."
However, along the way, Cyrus has thrown us a bone or two and has given us some peeks as to what is happening and proof that things are in fact unfolding as he said they would. We have learned the name of the re-branding, LivImmune. There has recently been new additions to the leadership team, Melissa Palmer, MD as new CMO and Salah Kivlighn, PhD, Clinical & Strategic Advisor. By bringing on Melissa Palmer, MD Hepatologist, it can not be said any clearer that NASH is in the near future and CytoDyn's number one clinical indication. Cyrus has been saying that NASH would be monotherapy and wouldn't be combination therapy. We know that CytoDyn can not do it alone, it is too small. We can take a little deeper look and see that Dr. Palmer has a history with TAKeda pharmaceuticals. "
Dr. Palmer left Kadmon in 2015 to become Global Lead on Shire's NASH program, as well as other liver-related issues within the company, such as orphan cholestatic liver diseases PFIC Alagilles, PSC and PBC, and liver-related safety issues (DILI), and was rapidly promoted to Global Development Lead - Hepatology and led the formation of the liver safety group. Shire was acquired by Takeda in 2019 at which time Dr. Palmer was recruited as Head of Liver Disease Development at Takeda." TAK has
TAK-647 which is: "
Ontamalimab is a fully human immunoglobulin G2 monoclonal antibody against mucosal addressin cell adhesion molecule-1 which failed phase 3 clinical trials for ulcerative colitis (UC) and Chrons Disease, but now is in Phase 1 clinical trials for NASH."
Prior to these we had: "
12:56: We have also firmly established Dr. Scott Hansen as our Head of Research and Basic Science*.*
Dr. Hansen is currently an Associate Professor at OHSU. and within this newly formalized role, Dr. Hansen will support our clinical development activities, related to biomarker and assay development for future clinical trials, as well as supporting and leading some of our earlier staged efforts, geared towards the development of longer acting molecules targeted to CCR5." We learned that
CytoDyn "
13:33: has also recently entered into a joint development agreement with a 3rd party Research and Development Bio-Tech company to develop long acting or more longer acting molecule CCR5 blocking.
It goes without saying that CytoDyn needs help. CytoDyn has 4 different plays, and each play is devoid of a sufficient data pool which would draw in funding for that indication. Cyrus' long term goal expressed in the Investor Deck is
to build out a strong enough clinical trial data pool to present it to a partner or a buyer. So then, without any cash of our own, Cyrus' plan is to have someone else's funding,
partner with CytoDyn and build for us that data pool and in the end, have exactly those same partners compete for the entirety of the resultant conglomerate, for the whole or for a part once that data pool is firmly in hand.
The same story goes for
HIV-Prep and HIV-Cure which is likely being run by the 3rd party Research and Development Bio-Tech company Vir, in collaboration to develop the long acting or a more longer acting molecule of CCR5 blockade. Vir is pretty much a given with Scott Hansen's strong connections there, but I remain skeptical due to the mechanism of action of VIR 1388 working to phagocytose HIV itself by initiating T Cells to target HIV epitopes while LL blocks CCR5. This was kept secret, but somewhat hinted at by Cyrus in the
4/11/23 Webcast .
We can apply the same logic in the
Oncology study being run by MD Anderson using Merck's Keytruda in combination with Leronlimab. We had all been waiting to find out what had happened with the results of the MD Anderson study, and Cyrus threw us this line: "
Leronlimab is currently being trialed in combination with Keytruda (pembrolizumab) in a breast cancer xenograft model in partnership with MD Anderson Cancer Center." From
here, he gave us a hint of what is to come.
It can be assumed that as these collaborations are officially announced, that is, after the hold is lifted, that there shall be share price inflection. In his astute fashion, Cyrus has given us the secrets, has only threw us some bones, but, because of the strange times we live in, and because CytoDyn has not yet met Priority #1, the share price has not yet moved.
The only thing the market "sees" is the fact that the hold hasn't yet been lifted. They are "Blinded by the Light". The shooting stars grace the night sky, but nobody sees them, because everyone is blinded by the fact that the hold hasn't yet been lifted. Clothed by the blinding light, made tone deaf by the din of bewildering and unnecessary information. They say nothing else matters unless the hold is lifted and that is what share price is saying. Nothing else matters. Nobody even reads articles on CCR5/CCL5, they are meaningless without Priority #1 being met. That is what the market says. But what does the Fox say?
That's the point though, to use this as a blinding distraction and it is working. How else do the other Priorities get put into place, if there wasn't something put in place to distract from the construction? Of course, a clinical hold provides all the blinders necessary to construct partnerships within, without disclosure of their assembly. We can be assured, that everything Cyrus put together in that Investor Deck is happening. Maybe, not exactly as he said it would. Surely, he did not count on his getting sick, but, these things happen and he will recover and get right back on it, assuredly. Cyrus gave us that plan, so we can know what is happening despite the blinding light, despite the din of confusion that would be taking place in the proximal future ahead of that Investor Deck presentation which is taking place right now. He knew, that had he not provided those prognostic words, shareholders today would be blinded, but he gave us the plan, so we could see. The Investor Deck was free of charge, yet it was prognostic. It would have been impossible to see what is happening today, had it not been for that R & D Update then. We therefore can see the events unroll as they happen which lead to the goals he has set forth there in, as we have been witnessing them happening. That Deck was crucial for our understanding. Many of us have been pointing to that Deck, but no one more so than
u/Upwithstock .
When the hold lifts, the blinders will be removed and all eyes shall be opened. Until then, only ours who have heard and understand that Investor Deck know what is happening now. All others remain blind to all of which is happening. They think it is all doom and gloom, but we know, that the Investor Plan is going forward. It is not a co-incidence that Cyrus told us all these things before this long period of waiting began. Long stents of time providing hardly any information. But when information did come, it was telling of the plan unfolding. Cyrus was saying, "Don't worry, the plan is going forward." So, he got sick, but there was a backup plan and likely, this was announced in a way he wasn't planning, but it was Plan B and he had our backs regardless and there wasn't even a set back. Cyrus will be back soon, assuredly. So, we wait for him.
How much hotter will it get? Hopefully, we get a webcast soon and I think it will be indicating that all has been recently submitted. I also hope that they will announce when Cyrus returns back to his seat. My eyes are glued to every detail that happens and how it correlates with the Investor Deck. It was given to us as shareholders, so lets stay focused on it and not be blinded. The sun is bright almost every day, but we are wearing special, polarized sun glasses. We will see that Deck unfold. Just hang on to your seats, because when it begins, it will happen quickly as it has been in the planning, design and soon to be rollout stages all the while. The triggering event approaches, and we know to look for it, so be ready.

2023.06.03 19:50 ThatDoodch Show Review: Memorial Meltdown (5.28.23)
Eventually... these write-ups may have another home... but for now here's a little something I wrote about the day I attended Meltdown. Looking forward to doing a lot more of these as the year goes on. Also, we just hit 900 subs! The official climb to 1K is upon us!
Dogs In A Pile were a hot topic of discussion on a equally *HOT* day in Lake George, NY at Charles R. Wood Park. Fans adorned with Dogs merch galore roamed the second day of Memorial Meltdown waiting for their heroes to take the stage at 5:30pm. One Time Weekend opened the day’s festivities with a bouncy and surprisingly versatile set. Interested in catching them based on word of mouth from Dogs bassist Sam Lucid, I was not disappointed. The band had the ability to make the crowd groove and headbang at the drop of a dime. Lead-vocalist Ian D’Arcangelo mentioned they will play on Saturday at Peach Music Festival in a few weeks (Dogs will play on Friday). By the audible reaction, it seemed as if the talented and young Connecticut group earned more than a handful of fans that would gladly show up.
The next slot belonged to Mihali & Friends as Twiddle’s frontman Mihali Savoulidis and a group of rotating talent went on to please the continuously filling-in crowd. The phones came out of many-a-pocket as Dogs guitarist/vocalist Jimmy Law plugged in for his first of two songs as a special guest on stage – he would later join Twiddle in their headlining set for a tune (“Breakididown”). Mihali’s cover of Dave Matthews Band’s “#41” was a hit in a region of the country that has heard many epic versions of the song by its original creators.
With the scorching sun winding down, the Dogs took the stage following a loving introduction by their friend and festival promoter Dave Ehmann. “These guys have my heart and I know they have yours too”, Ehmann said to the crowd before mentioning the band would return to the park for Adirondack Independence Music Festival in September.
Naturally, the Dogs started their set with “Frosty” on an 86-degree day. Lead singer Brian Murray, looking effortlessly cool with his groovy sunglasses and festival crew shirt, led the charge on what’s become a fan-favorite since being debuted late last summer at Garcia’s in Port Chester. A “Blues for Brian” sandwich followed with a “2001” filling that knocked the collective socks off the rambunctious Dog Pound – a special contingent of supporters who always create a fun, safe and energetic dancefloor for fans old and new alike to enjoy.
Should they rename the event space “Charlie” R. Wood Park? The Dogs made their case with a ripping rendition of “Charlie”, one of their premier jam vehicles, that segued into an epic “No Quarter” cover with keyboardist Jeremy Kaplan manning the mic. A set highlight “G Song” allowed Jimmy Law to command a wonderfully earned solo.
From there, it was time for drummer Joe Babick to wow attendees on the kit as he showed off his chops and stamina while beating the instruments of his craft to a pulp. This led to Twiddle’s Adrian Tramontano joining the band to finish off the “Drums” section and break into Dave Ehmann’s favorite Dogs cover “Samson and Delilah”. “Say Something”, which has become a staple show-closeencore, ended the set on wildly successful high note.
As the night came to a close and with Twiddle recently announcing their upcoming hiatus, one couldn’t help to wonder if Dogs In A Pile are destined to plant their flag as one of the premier Northeast jam bands. An accolade amongst an endless list of benchmarks the five-piece band can accomplish along their career. With their current trajectory and future outlook, their stars are starting to shine as bright as the sun was coming down on a beautiful Memorial Meltdown day filled with family, friends and something the Dogs are very used to providing – joy.
Catching up with Sam Lucid post-show, he was graciously open to contributing to what I hope to be a building tradition. Asking one of the guys what their favorite jam of the night was! We’ll call this edition “Sam’s Jam”.
Sam’s Jam: G Song. “I felt like we really connected on that jam”, Lucid said. When asked if he thought that would be the unanimous pick across the board for the band he interestingly mentioned: “we all respect each other’s opinions on what works and what doesn’t work. It can differ from night-to-night. But that’s how you grow closer together and as a playing unit. Everyone has a voice in Dogs In A Pile.”
