Apologizes for being so late. Explanation at the bottom.

Maxwell stared out the small window in the war room while he waited for the generals and other officers to arrive. The dome had dimmed to the point that you could see through it, and he watched as the demonic army set up camp less than a mile from the city. When the last straggler entered and sat, the general in charge started the meeting. Why am I even here? I don’t add anything besides my fighting and base knowledge of magic. Whatever.
The meeting ended with the decision being made to defend at the wall, and only send out mounted troops when the enemy showed a weakness. Pretty standard fare for defending a city. He made his way out of the room, not stopping to chat with anyone and went for a walk in the now recovering city.
He was sitting on a park bench, randomly tossing seeds to a small flock of birds when his messaging stone started to vibrate. He removed the stone from his pocket and swiped his finger across the smooth face, “Hello?”
“Ah, the heretic. Just who I wanted to speak too.” The voice on the other end said. “I am general xxx of the demon army---”
Max ended the call, swiping across the stone again. “Idiots.” He grumbled. “I wasn’t born yesterday.”
The stone vibrated again. He answered. “WHAT?”
“The same voice as before spoke again. “We need to talk.”
“Make it fast.” Max growled. “I’m busy.”
“Very well. I want you to kill the demon lord.” Ochalz said in a level voice.
“You…You what?” Max stuttered into the stone.
“He needs to die.” Ochalz replied. “He will force me to throw my troops into your void forsaken wall. The number of unneeded deaths will be high. I need him gone.”
Mas took a deep breath to calm his nerves, “What’s in it for us?”
“Upon his death, we will cease all hostilities for a total of ten years.” Ochalz said.
“Twenty-five, no less, and you will retreat to the demon wastes.” Max responded.
“Very well. Twenty-five years.” Ochalz said, “And we will move to the aptly named demon wastes.”
“How do I know I can trust you?” Max asked.
“You don’t. But I give you my personal assurances, and all the information I have on that lard filled bastard.” Ochalz responded.
“Good enough.” Max smiled. “Tell me everything.

Grendel Repute sat on the back of the wagon as it progressed down the snow-covered road. What to do. What to do. He absentmindedly scratched the cat that Brandywine had left in his care when she and the others had left. “So, cat, what should we do today? No one will dice with me anymore. Especially after they finally caught me cheating.” The cat flopped onto its side and purred at him. “Maybe we should… No. Perhaps? No. What do you think?”
The cat gently captured his left hand in its paws and brought it closer to lick and nibble on.
“I suppose we could eat something, but lunch isn’t for another hour or so.” Grendel said in response to the nibbles. “Maybe we could raid the sweets jar?”

Max had gathered up his usual suspects in his rooms. “Demon general Ochalz has asked that we assassinate the demon lord.”
The room went silent.
“Yeah. I was surprised too.” Max said into the silence. “I have a bunch of notes here,” he waved to a stack of papers, “with all of the information Ochalz could give me.”
The next several hours were spent going over the notes.

Cookies in hand, Grendel sat once again on the back of the wagon, cat purring on his lap. “Okay. We have a communication stone from Prince Lancil. We have snow. We have cookies… Now what?”
“Meow” said the cat.
“Exactly.” Grendel replied.

53rd of Anael, First month of Snow.
2290 years since the New Gods came.
We have almost a thousand miles to travel to get to the demon lord’s lair. We will be traveling the demon wastes through ice and snow. While the demons will not be “thick and heavy” due to their army being here, they will still be around. Little else thrives out there.
There is a “breed” of “Horse” that has been mostly tamed that will survive the travel, but with my track record with half demonic beasts, I worry there will be problems.
Bri has refused to stay behind, claiming that “the place of a wife is with her husband”. Who am I to argue?
The gang’s all here, we leave tomorrow at dusk.
54th of Anael.
Dusk.
The wind is cold, blowing the powdery snow across the plain as we departed. The heroes, Brandywine and Bri are all well covered in winter traveling clothes. The trunk is tied to my back.
55th of Anael,
We got five miles through the wind and snow last night. No demons were spotted. Today we should make about ten more. I keep forgetting how much I hate walking in snow, it gets everywhere.
Plains of Demonia.
1st of Arah, Second month of Snow.
2291 years since the new gods came.
Midwinter was last night, and we did not celebrate. Travel was more important. We made just over ten miles today, giving us a total of twenty-five miles. I believe it is around twenty points below freezing* as we set up camp tonight. We are all sharing one small tent to conserve heat. The wind is whipping across the gently rolling plain at speed. Tomorrow we may be snow blind.
Our current path will bring us to Ghostward, another one hundred twenty miles or so. Twelve days. We will rest for a couple nights there, and hopefully be able to procure ‘Horses’ that can deal with the weather.
3rd of Arah.
The wind and snow were too much today, we made it three miles. It is a blizzard. I hope we aren’t snow bound for too long. Only 38 miles so far.
6th of Arah.
We got nearly two feet of snow, but the wind has slowed. Tomorrow, we will dig ourselves out and continue on our way.

Magni stared at the snow, and smiled to himself. It’s like home. Just without the mountains. He held back a tear as he thought back to his lost home, the people, his wife and children, and then let the tears loose.

We continue our march. I don’t understand how Magni can smile and whistle through this. Maybe he really is part bear as Nomvula claims? I don’t know, he kind of does look like one…
Around eighty miles, halfway there. Seventy left.
13th of Arah.
Elk. A herd of elk. Being chased by a small pack of worgs. The worgs ate there fill and ignored us. I’m an idiot gods forsaken MORON! We could have ridden worgs if I hadn’t wanted to avoid the “going away” ceremony that would have been thrown for us. Too late now.
14th of Arah.
We spotted a demon patrol today. They ignored us.

Grendel stared at the boring snow once again. “Now what do we do, cat?”
“Mrow?” The cat replied.
“Me either.” Grendel said. “Maybe we can use Lancil’s stone and try to sell someone a bridge?”

Demon General Ochalz sat on his camp chair, and smiled. “The Heretic is well on his way now? Excellent. Once that worthless idiot is dead, we will make a place for ourselves in the wastes, and prepare.”
*That would be -20c, or -10f.

Where to begin, where to begin?
I don't generally talk about it, but I have some mental health issues, and the last couple of months have been hard. The weather changes are tough in spring, causing my SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) to go into overdrive. The ADHA has been bouncing me around, and my Bi-Polar disorder has been at an all time low. All said and done? This has been a sucky as hell spring.
To top things off, Monday I stubbed my big toe so hard that i separated the nail from the nail bed. 0/10, do not recommend.
The high points have been being published in the anthology (thanks to everyone who backed it!!!!!) and seeing Wind Rose in concert. Even those two haven't really left much of a dent in my psyche.
Anyway, my kid is almost out of school for the year, and at least isn't failing any classes. And next weekend I will be attending a reunion for year one and two of the NCCC program (I was in year one! That was a blast!!!) and I'm looking forward to that, and the writing convention two weeks after that. Those two should break me out of this blue period.
Take care of yourselves. Don't kidnap midgets. Get the candy first. Don't drive full speed into the dust storm. Look both ways at the train crossing. Avoid the sewer clowns unless you are well armed. Giant robots will make you go squish. When the pin is pulled, Mr. Grenade is NOT your friend. Help each other out.

Edit: these stats are for Combat Patrol, because GW wants to gut the rules in the name of simplicity while also inflating different sets of rules for some reason.
Available for all of us to see, the Tyranids vs Space Marine Combat Patrols give us a few interesting bits of information.
Ryan's have 3 Wounds at T5, so they are a little tougher than ga(u)nts. They come stock with Fights First and their talons have 6 attacks, -1 AP, 1 Dam.
Psychophage has 10 Wounds, T12, and a 2+ save. It seems to have an inherent 5+ Feel No Pain. It also has a Feeding Frenzy special rule- if it targets a unit below Starting Strength, it gets +1 to hit, and if the unit is below half of its Starting Strength, it gets +1 to wound. Speaking of it's Betentacled Maw has Anti-Psyker 4+, Devestating Wounds, D6+1 Attacks, hitting on 3+, S6, -1AP, and 2Dam. It also has a ranged weapon- the Psychoclastic Torrent (Ignores Cover, Torrent) with 12" range, D6 shots, S6, -1AP, and 1Dam. It also explodes and CAN damage friendly nearby units.
The Winged Tyranid Prime has 6 Wounds, though I did not catch it's Toughness. It's talons have 6 attacks hitting on 2+, S6, -1AP, and 2Dam (or better, as 3 attacks killed 3 Space Marine Intercessors). It was upgraded with a Psychostatic Veil, granting it Lone Operative, a 4++ invuln, and -1 to hit from melee attacks.

A few Tyranid Stratagems were used, but it looks like they may be exclusive to the Vargheist detachment. We've seen the Teeming Broods to revive 2d6 Ga(u)nts, but there is also a 1CP -1 to hit reaction.

Spoiler for who won, but Tyranids controlled the board (which was very easy to do, since the Space Marines only had 4 units) and eeked by on Victory Points, even though they died in droves without killing too terribly much.

“Come on, just move over a little! You know tails need more room than that!”
“I've moved over as much as I can. Any more, and I’ll get impaled.”
“You… actually, why is Burai even in the back with us? Shouldn’t it be him driving?”
“Trish doesn’t get distracted by our bickering like I would be. You should be thankful I’m back here and not up in front.”
“Oh yeah, real thankful. If Sasha bleeds out getting stuck by you, I’ll make sure to thank you before throwing you out the back.”
“Out the back of my own truck? Tressa. My dignity, please.”
The phrase rang hollow. None of them had any semblance of dignity, not while stuffed in the back of the vehicle like cattle. Tressa’s tail was already starting to get sore, and he had to imagine sitting packed next to a Gojid without the protection of wool was a harrowing experience for both Sasha and James, even with thick clothing that could cushion the blow instead. That Trish was allowed to be free of this torment simply by virtue of her focus felt like an insult. The injustice of it all stung at him, an annoying buzz at the edge of his mind which jabbed every time he had to reposition so his tail didn’t get crushed.
He fought with his own self-control to not constantly complain during the entire trip, but it was a hopeless losing battle. The whole trip to the upper layer of City 23 was punctuated by an orchestra of whining in every voice but Trish’s.
Beast, as Burai so affectionately referred to it, was not helping the matter. The thing groaned in protest every time it was met with an incline, and despite Trish’s apparent skill in taming it, it felt as though it might simply give up at any moment. It wouldn’t, they all knew; Burai took good care of it. That was cold comfort for the long ride up. It felt less like a trip, and more like some novel form of torture.
“Ladies and gent—”
As the back door slid open, Tressa practically bolted into the open air. Or tried to, anyway. His desperate bid for freedom was interrupted by the body of an gray-quilled Gojid, playing the role of a suborbital flight attendant. Spikes slid across the flame-resistant fabric of Tressa’s coat, saving him from a painful impalement and leaving him stumbling and embarrassed.
“AH! Uh… s-sorry, Burai, I didn’t mean—”
“It’s fine.” Burai seemed more bothered by the forced break in his little performance than the high-impact Venlil slamming across his chest. “I know you’re desperate for some fresh air. Here, let me get out of your way.”
He stepped aside, dramatically sweeping his claw towards the now-open walkway and bowing slightly in a reprisal of his role. “Welcome to City 23, the twilight jewel of Venlil Prime. We hope you enjoy your stay!”

Massive concrete skyscrapers intertwined with glass and plastered with neon dominated the skyline, casting the streets below in a mixture of shadow and vibrant color. Roads and walkways weaved through the architecture like blood vessels through some strange inorganic beast, teeming with activity. Carefully maintained vegetation splashed natural color against the cold metal and unyielding concrete. And through it all, an eternal sunset cast soft illumination on every unshadowed surface. City 23’s upper layer was nothing less than an artistic statement, a crown jewel of the Federation’s empire.
While a compelling narrative about the Federation’s superiority, it had a few holes. The rectangular skyscrapers, for instance, were a distinctly human design, as were the shimmering panes of glass adorning them which acted as decoration more than functional windows. According to official Federation mandate, these architectural masterpieces were examples of the Venlil’s architecture, the masterwork of an emotional and artistic prey species which proved superiority over the predatory scum that they couldn’t help but tolerate due to their tragically overwrought empathy.
Below the bustling streets of City 23’s upper layer lay the dilapidated ruins of a counterargument. An old Venlil-built city; the lack of sunlight and state of ruin did it no favors, but even in its prime the city was hardly a marvel. Thick outer walls and barriers which divided the city into clean, ugly segments that could easily be quarantined in case of a predator attack spoke of a scared people who valued practicality over art. The pawful of new buildings speckling the sprawl were far more appealing despite their cheap construction; that they were built primarily by humans was hardly a secret. But nobody who lived up above in the new city which blotted out the sky would ever bother learning this. Why would they ever bother to leave? Despite its fraught history and muddled origins, the pristine beauty of the “twilight jewel” was undeniable.

Tressa found that his initial breathlessness at the glimmering city hadn’t abated during his long bout of musing, and quickly drew a breath before he passed out. The air tasted of vegetation, a sweet smell which felt almost overbearing for one used to the ash and grime of the sprawl. He took several more deep breaths, savoring the scent. The rest of the group was similarly awestruck; even Trish, who muttered a poem under her breath in lieu of showing her awe through body language. To an onlooker, the sight of an interspecies herd staring wide-eyed at the routine sight of city life must’ve been rather amusing.
Or it would have been amusing, were there anyone to observe it. Trish had set them down in a parking complex, shockingly quiet for its proximity to the spaceport. Having Beast at their backs shielded the posse from prying eyes, affording James and Sasha the rare luxury of breathing that fresh air without the masks that were mandatory for human visitors to the upper layer.
Of course, it couldn’t last. They had a job to do, and being arrested for civil disruption wasn’t part of it. The two slipped on masks which covered their “predatory” eyes and teeth. Unfortunately, without enabling the passthrough cameras, it also blinded them, a fact James was rather harshly reminded of when he tripped on his first step. He quietly muttered something about a muzzle, but his words were muffled by the mask; he’d forgotten to enable the microphone as well.
As they left the parking complex and walked out into the street, James’ complaints suddenly went silent. Tressa looked to see if they’d gotten separated, only to see a thing which superficially resembled his human friend shambling behind them. His natural body posture had given way to a practiced imitation of a more timid stance, his head held low to not look anyone in the eye. Even though his face couldn’t be seen through the mask, Tressa knew he was wearing the vacant expression and incurious eyes that so many cured humans were marred with after extensive electroshocking.
He tried not to gag at the sight. Seeing James replaced by this mocking imitation of a human was nauseating, even as a mere disguise. He couldn’t bear to imagine how the first generation of cured humans felt, seeing loved ones crushed into lifeless husks by their Federation handlers and wondering if they could perform submission convincingly enough to not suffer the same fate. The humiliation alone would be enough to break most species.
Humanity, however, was not most species. Even in the face of a genocide bordering on speciocide, with so many of their people killed or maimed, they managed to maintain that spark of life. They found allies on Venlil Prime and refuge in remote colonies where the Federation’s grasp was distant. They made themselves too useful to kill outright, put on a face of passivity while preserving their culture in secret. While it was difficult to watch James play the part of a model human citizen, it was nothing more than an act.
Sasha never bothered with an act. She held her head high. How she’d survived the Terran genocide with such an apparent distain for the powers that be was a mystery to Tressa, though he knew well enough not to ask her directly. She strode down the street, sweeping her covered eyes around in movements which Federation officials deemed “Predatory”. Biologically superior species had eyes which could see everything around them at once, and didn’t have to twist their heads around in a revolting motion just to get a good look. In their infinite wisdom and mercy, they’d tried to cure humans of the inclination; even provided them with a widened field of view through the mask’s cameras. If any exterminators saw Sasha rejecting their gift by looking around in a way that came naturally to her, there could be hell to pay.
Tressa patted down the side of his coat, making sure the pistol was there. It was. He relaxed marginally. The crowd didn’t seem to be taking any notice of their prideful human compatriot anyway. As long as they didn’t run into any authorities, they’d be fine. It wasn’t a long walk to the Rising Star anyway; they could get in, find the package tucked underneath some chair, get out, spend a while milling about the city to avoid drawing suspicion from any wayward surveillance algorithms that were supposed to be decommissioned years ago, and be on their way.
Sasha suddenly stopped. Being a full head taller than the rest of the crowd, she would naturally be the first to spot trouble. She craned her head forward to get a better look at something off in the distance, and swore quietly but audibly.
With no warning, she ducked her head low and veered off into a disused alleyway while motioning for the rest of the group to follow. A steady walk turned into a brisk jog, not stopping until she reached some sort of rusted-out balcony that opened up a view of the city ahead. She crouched down, retreating slightly into the shadows while making room for the rest of them to watch from the abandoned walkway.
She flicked her head as if to silently direct their vision, but the gesture was unnecessary. They could all see the problem, glinting in the eternal evening sun. A number of problems, actually; a small herd of Venlil in silver suits which swarmed around the base of the Rising Star hotel like flies. All armed to the teeth and moving in one sickening single motion as they covered ground, a precession of glittering grim reapers which stood directly between them and their target.

Hi everyone. Have a lot of stuff to post.
First is an armorsource AS501 helmet in medium. It was FDE, has been painted black and fitted with new black team Wendy cam fit and black rails. This is incredibly lightweight. # I want to trade for a large. I will NOT sell outright. Only trades are towards a same/similar helmet in large. TV: $500
Next is a longfri ballistic helmet. Size XL. Yes, it’s Chinese. There’s a dude on YouTube that’s shot them and they stopped rounds. Probably will have excessive back force deformation, then again, so do ops core, so who cares? In good shape, one scratch on back that’s been touched up. Metal shroud, locks up tight with rhino 2 and a knock off g24. Has team Wendy cam fit liner and HHV pads. These run $200 new and the cam fit runs $130. I would sell this for $250. Comes with spare airsoft knockoff tw style pads also.
Up next is a Kinda sweet 14.5 upper. - The good: KAC urx 3.1 rail with taupe rail panels and hand stop; dead air flash hider that’s on there nice and straight. Sweet ass LV dust cover - The mid: 14.5 ba Hanson barrel, stainless gas tube BA gas blocc - the cringe: the worst pin and weld you’ve probably ever seen BUT it will keep u outta jail so #yolo

Code Purple! Follow Chico, Vincent, and Errol as they settle a dispute between the mountain tribe of River Emou and Briar's Glenn. Code Purple is an actual play podcast featuring the system Dragonslayers 2.

Plot Summary:
Errol, Chico, and Vincent are hanging out in the guild hall when Nulisag places a flier on the job board. It is a flier asking for the help for the town of Briers Glen seeking protection. Errol and Chico having met before decide to drag Vincent along for the adventure. They depart and arrive before too long outside of Briars glen a small farming community. They see a few small farmhouses burned down and three large figures entering the town. As the group stealth up to get a better look the individuals seem to be orc's carrying large axes. They see the 3 large figures arguing with a dark skinned woman with dark hair and almond shaped eyes named Sidney Mcready. Errol inserts himself into the conversation offering everyone a piece of licorice candy and recommending that all of this can be settled in a peaceful manner. The three Orc individuals leave peacefully but with an ominous warning eternity is ending and the treaty will be void. They give the townspeople three days to leave or their land will be taken violently. Sidney Mcready protests saying that they have lived in that town for generations and that the treaty said they had permanent rights to the land. Errol asks if they could look at the treaty themselves, in order to get a better understanding of the situation. Sidney tells Errol that there is a wizard looking it over for them who goes by the name Dorael. Errol is excited and quickly the group goes to meet Caelemon Dorael, a divination wizard and good friend of Errol's. On their way to speak to Caelemon they find a poster calling for the apprehension of Vincent the 5th for stealing his fathers inheritance.
Caelemon tells the group that there are two treaties and due to a translation error it seems the orcs are under the impression that something has caused the treaty to be null and void. Errol, Chico, and Vincent decide that to solve this problem they need to confront the orcs and find out why they are under the impression that the treaty is null and void. However, the group decides to investigate the burned out farmhouses in order to glean any clues. Chico discovers three coyotes inside of one of the burned farmhouses eating a draft horse. He attempts to speak to them but they turn aggressive and decide to try some rabbit meat. Chico quickly entangles them in vines and again tries to reason with them. Confused by the quick reaction and effective powers of this rabbit the coyotes relent and begin to speak with Chico. Chico gleans little information from them aside from they were two legged humanoids. Chico is polite and kind to the coyotes and lets them go warning them not to get too close to the farm. The party then find tracks left by the culprits who burned the buildings and begin tracking them. They come across a group of wolves in the woods and fail their stealth rolls leading to a fight. Errol fails to use magic on the wolves, Vincent and Chico manage to dispatch them. They then attempt to stealth closer to an encampment with fires burning inside and two guards watching over the entrance. Errol fails his stealth roll because he runs across a duck. In an attempt to impress Chico and Vincent, Errol pretends to speak duck. The duck does not understand him but he manages to convince Chico and Vincent that the duck gave him important information. Errol then approaches the gate with Vincent while Chico waits in the woods keeping an eye out for danger. Errol asks if he might speak to the Elder or leadership of their village. The guardsmen leave and retrieve Elder Olaf a large and wise orc who wears a coyote skin on his head as a mark of station. Elder Olaf tells Errol that in order to have an audience with the Elders they must win a trial by combat. Errol says he will convene with his party and if they agree to the terms he will return. Errol, Chico, and Vincent agree that this is an acceptable challenge and return to the gate. Elder Olaf leads them in the gates after noticing Chico and that they must speak soon.
The combat goes well for Errol, Vincent and Chico. Although Chico does nearly take a losing blow it seems that Elder Olaf uses his magic to tip the scales and protect Chico. Errol and Vincent bring first blood to an enemy combatant allowing them to win the trial. They then have an audience with Elder Olaf who tells them that the River Emu is getting blocked up and it is causing his mountain clan to want to end the treaty because their treaty is destined to end when the flow of eternity stops. This is the river Emou, and the river drying up means the end of the treaty. The only person who can stop this is Chico as only one of the blood who have been chosen by the coyote deity Mąʼii. The group agrees to try and clear the rivers flow and save the village of Briers Glen. They travel to the river Emou and begin traveling up the bank. During another attempt to stealth closer to a statue blocking the river, Errol once again attracts the duck. He tries to speak to the duck and feeds it some Licorice and makes a duck friend, and decides to call him Drake. The group gets closer to the statue and find dried blood stains on the statue, upon urging from Errol, Chico cuts his paw and smears blood on the statue dispelling the illusion of the statue allowing them to travel further towards the rivers source. They travel into a wreckage of large mechanical parts from the Space Station Atlas and Errol remembers that Deirdre had once worked upon this space station. The party continues to search the wreckage and follow a blinking red light. The light leads them deeper into a chunk of the space station where they have to fight past sentry turrets. They then find a robot that has frozen up attempting to repair the station. They destroy two turrets, then decide to destroy the coolant system that will lead to the structure detonating. They take Repair Robot 7 along with them as well as one of the turrets they removed. They find an inflatable raft and as the station blows they ride the raft down the rapids back to the mountain village tribe of orcs. Errol tells Chico to call for the coyotes he had befriended earlier and they return triumphantly where the Elder Olaf raises Chico to elder status and they together vote that the village of Briers Glen will not be harmed. Finally they return to Briers Glen and enjoy a feast, Errol gives Caelemon a laser blaster as thanks, and the group asks Caelemon for information on the bounty that was posted on Vincent. It seems an impostor has taken Vincent's form in order to steal his father’s inheritance.

Hello Galactic Survivalists!
Welcome to Empyrion Galactic Survival version 1.10 Experimental!
In this update for you to test, we've added locale missions for each starter playfield (5x5 = 25 in total) to offer more variation to the early gameplay experience. Although these missions are fully optional and do not (yet) relate to the main storyline they will be shedding some early light on a few important story backgrounds in the Empyrion universe.
The introduction of the location missions is accompanied by a major maintenance of the main missions to make the final adjustment to the new game start environments. To achieve this, we have implemented numerous fixes for improved story progression and several bug fixes for reported issues (see full changelog below)
In addition to the mission updates, we've expanded the game universe by updating the existing faction homeworlds and adding new ones. Thanks to our community contributors, these updates come with an impressive addition of over 300 new Points of Interest (POIs) and vessels, enhancing the scope of exploration and discovery..
On the technical side of things, we've worked on visual and auditory enhancements to provide a more immersive in-game environment. While the visuals of the suns got a general overhaul, the addition of ‘tessellation’ will significantly improve the planetary terrain quality. In the meantime, our sound department not only worked on the SFX themselves, but also added the long-wanted dynamic combat soundtrack feature!
For our multiplayer and co-op players, we've incorporated a new role system, designed to expand cooperative possibilities within the game. You can now grant access to devices based on your player faction role!
We also haven't forgotten our creative players, with improvements made to the Creative Scenario Building Helper Tools, adding several convenience features and even completely new functions to improve building and reduce friction.
Last, but not least, there are two crucial infos you should be aware of:
  1. The Mass/Volume + CPU + Blocklimits are now enabled by default. This setting can be adjusted in the game start menu if desired.
  2. The Blueprint Factory can now only be used when all devices of a blueprint have been unlocked in the tech tree. There are new (colored) info & messages to indicate what is missing.

Default Scenario Update (WiP):POI & OPVs:Added/updated about 300 space & ground stations, wreckages, dungeons, small and large, weak and strong combat and civilian vessels - created, reworked and updated by various authors and community contributors (check details at: https://empyriononline.com/forums/showroom-submissions.108/).

Missions
  • Added locale mission arcs (with 5 missions each) to all starter planets:
  1. Akua: Clear Skies
  2. Ningues: Andromeda Strain
  3. Masperon: Bad Wolf
  4. Skillon: Deserted Powers
  5. Ashon: To Good Business
Note: To start the mission, find the main mission hub on the playfield (there are indications in PDAs and/or notifiers when approaching a mission relevant POI)
  • Adjusted main storyline contents, mission structure and dialogues (eg. shortened amount of text and/or added more SKIP routes)
  • Changed start location and context of main storyline (Prelude now starts when arriving on Omicron Sector!)
  • Fixed several reported bugs and issues with the main storyline (please retest!). Most important changes:
  • Updated: Story Mission 'Totally Overpowered' updated to new settings and faction references. Dialogues updated to reflect context changes.
  • Updated: Story Mission 'Glacial Grave': Reduced Log content (amount of text) found on the system consoles down to 1-page logs and made several other refinements on procedures.
  • Updated: Story Mission 'Ancient Revelations': fixed issues with opening doors too early, changed creatures to variants that better fit some room sizes. Staircase now cleared when using shortcut from main access to upper level; added some additional markers in some places.
  • Updated: Story Mission 'Uncertain Outcomes': fixed several issues in mission progression; Set stations to civil + admin cores; removed Tier3 ores from mission asteroids.
  • Updated: Story Mission Interlude 'Meet the GLaD': added some skip areas to Dialogues and streamlined text info for summaries
  • Updated: Story Mission 'Sigma Fulcrum': Reduced clickcount on station console (each message now only shown once as long as player stays in the dialogue); Fixed a few inconsistencies with mission progress; Note the station is still set to Colonists faction you won't damage your reputation with. So first ask, then shoot.
  • Updated: Story Mission 'Unexpected Allies': Fixed faction settings to not break mission progress. Updated some dialogues; updated info + added more SKIP routes in dialogues.
  • Updated: Story Mission 'Wins and losses': Adjusted some text elements; Fixed progression issues. (Note, this is currently the LAST mission. Final mission might be added for 1.11 or 1.12)
  • Deactivated 'Murky Christmas' mission (as this is seasonal content).
  • General change on story mission factions & enemies: When there is no chance to proceed in a story mission other than to fight against a dynamic-RP faction, the opponents will be set to "Alien" to not forcefully ruin player reputation. If there is a choice, e.g. to trade, talk or fight, a dynamic faction might be used & the decision to ruin the Reputation towards them is up to the players themselves.
Factions & Reputation & NPCs
  • Set UCH to dynamic faction reputation
  • Added a static player-friendly 'technical' faction 'PlayerAssistDefaultHostile' (PDH) to help with mission setups that require combat against default-hostile factions and RP is not spoiled by friendly-fire or the faction is already used in another context. The faction is not intended to have POI or territories but is a "technical" static faction only.
  • Reworked faction reputation matrix: eg. added more crossover effects (pos and negative), removed too strong level-drop effects and added specific RP-loss amounts to some blocks (f.ex. Cores)
  • Changed NPC groups (EclassConfig) and updated terrain-spawned patrol groups (Egroup)
  • Telluropod now available from NPC Spawners
Gameworld
  • Updated home systems and home planets for all major and minor factions (1st iteration)
  • Added home systems for community-submitted factions
  • Sorted/changed blueprint groups of lots of POIs for the factions
  • Sorted blueprint groups for all faction OPVs (space and planet) into tiers.
Note: if your scenario uses default BP groups, their contents might have changed!
  • Changed: Several story-mission-relevant POI did not have an admin core
  • Changed: Enemy attack in story mission context is now mostly set to "alien" faction to avoid spoiling reputation unintentionally.
  • Added a few battered, free-roaming cannon drones to Ningues, Skillon and Masperon (Alien faction; will attack player, but not other NPCs)
  • Changed: Activated Base Attacks on Akua (Talon) and Masperon (Zirax/Abyssal)
  • Changed: Akua SupplyDepot swapped Raptor02 with RaptorNight and interior AlienBug01v2 with Spider01
  • Updated Ocean planet (decoration, atmosphere, textures & biomes)

Gameworld - Stars
  • Space: Tweaked looks for star types O,B,F,A,G,K,M, LegacyNexusHub
  • Space: Adjusted playfield lighting colours and brightness. (O: Much brighter; B: Bright)
  • Galaxy map: Star types easier to tell apart in distance

  • Important change: Blueprints cannot be put into the Factory if the player hasn't unlocked the needed items in the techtree yet!
  • New optional parameter "ignoreOtherTarget" is available for Pf-Ops SpawnDrone, SpawnOPV and SpawnTroopTransport
  • Updated info in galaxyconfig.ecf about hiding a solar system
  • Added information about AuxPoi setup to example playfield yaml
  • Added new parameter 'DisableProximityLog' (true/false) for gameoptions.yaml to allow disabling the proximity log button in registry
Dialogue System
  • Added possibility to omit the cone for NPC with dialogues (class NPCDialogue) by adding the property OmitCone: true in BlocksConfig.ecf
  • Added function string GetFaction(int entityId) that returns the faction name from the FactionConfig.ecf
  • Added a property "DialogueState" to BlocksConfig.ecf to be used in blocks of class "NPCDialogue" to allow specifying a hard coded target dialog. If this is present, this block can be placed by users on player bases and be also triggered using "F".
  • Added new function GetStructure(entityId)
Multiplayer / Coop
  • Added PlayerFaction Role dropdown UI to Control Panel's Devices page. To make use of this add a lock code for the device then check the “Private” box & select one of the roles from the drop down GUI

Creative Mode / Scenario
  • WIP: Added a new tool to manage blueprint part collections “Blueprint Parts Collection Tool”. To try this tool out in creative mode use 'di wdw' in the console to test it. See this video for tips on how to use it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BDZ0Rof3cbw
  • Creative mode improvement: if SHIFT (run key) is pressed the focus box now focuses inside the target block (pressing RMB will remove it and LMB will replace it). The removal was working before, but now the focus is also placed correctly.
  • BuildSettingsMenu: Green pasted area can now also be mirrored "in place"
  • BuildSettingsMenu: Green pasted area will now collide with its surrounding structure if pressing LEFT-SHIFT while moving (using the move handles)
  • Default Creative scenario: Updated Temperate and Arid playfields to new decoration. Updated selection pictures.
Visual Refinements & Controller upgrades
  • Added Global Illumination, Dynamic Shadows & Terrain Tessellation & video options to toggle these on & off

Guided Tutorial:
  • EndSpace: Fix for broken dialog of Fleet Command
Fixes:
  • Explorer Token for faction homeworlds should now work/be given again (also for the new dynamic factions!)
  • Explorer Token for first-pickup for ores did not work anymore or were given randomly
  • Falling animation is playing when you fly a vessel.
  • pf data not found if trying to respawn to it
  • 00858: Collision model for deco block - Antena 05 is missed
  • 00912: Collision model for block Deco SVDecoAeroblister01 is missed
  • 00910: Large thrusters are flickering in 1PV after resume the game
  • 00897: Retractable turrets can be invisible when they are turned off
