My friend Maya loved trying different foods. She never understood why so many people plod through the same meals every week, when such a vast range of exotic ingredients line the shelves of your local supermarket.
We shopped together about once a month. Maya always went straight to the international or health food aisles, and searched for jars of pickled baby squid, or cans of Polish energy drink. Nothing made her face break into a grin like a pack of lamb’s hearts.
Her birthday was a few weeks away, so I ran some searches online to find a top end weird supermarket item. All the suggestions were too milquetoast for such a special day. But several forum users insisted that to find something truly odd, you need to head down the snack aisle. By venturing all the way to the farthest end, you can find all kinds of weird stuff.
On our next trip I took Maya to the point where instant coffee met the tortilla chips, handed her a birthday card, and said to pick out whatever she wanted.
We went past the usual collections of salt and vinegar crisps. Through the popcorn, towards more bespoke choices. Pretzels. Pork scratchings. Breadsticks dipped in sesame seeds. Then onto the wasabi peas and canachur.
Most people have found their required item by this stage, and do not bother travelling further. But I trusted the forums, and led Maya to a point past where the corner of the supermarket should have been. A place where the packaging is muddy olive, and everything smelt of suede, and oily marks stained the floor.
Maya picked up something with a wasp on the logo. I understood the individual words on the packet, but they made no sense as a sentence. She confirmed her selection, and we moved faster than a walking pace to get back to the condiments.
The packet took three attempts to scan through the checkout, and cost less than a pint of milk. Soon we sat in my car, enjoying the heat of the sun, and opened our prize.
The smell that wafted out was lime soaked in cheddar. Dozens of puffed corn pyramids crammed together inside, each scarred with ridges and canyons. Maya offered me one, but I shook my head.
‘Not my birthday.'
She reached in. Then wrinkled her brow when her fingertips met resistance.
It took less than a second for the yellow and black banded hand to grab her wrist, and start pulling her in. Maya's arm vanished up to the shoulder with ease, and that is when the real trouble started. The packet was too small to allow anything past the collarbone in. Something creaked like ice against timber.
The smell of lime and cheese mixed with a new scent of rusted pennies. I squeezed the packet between my fingers in a desperate attempt to break Maya free. But where her elbow joint should have been was nothing but crunchy pyramids turning to powder.

This isn’t a thing in the US but in my EU country it is the legal obligation of the family members (in most cases children) to physically or financially take care of their elderly parents. If you refuse to care for or pay for the care of your parents you face punishment and it counts as neglect.
My narcs have bragged about this today that even if I go no contact the moment they get sick or too old to care for themselves I will be obligated to care for them anyway and if I don’t have money for a care home (very expensive) then I’ll have to move in with them and “change their diapers and feed them” until they die.
I SURE AS HELL DON’T WANT THAT.
How do I get out of this? What do I need to do legally to not be held accountable for this?
I don’t have enough proof for a restraining order for now but I see no other way of “getting them off my back” permanently

It sucks because right now on global is usually the time that people getting very hyped, we're about to enter the anniversary followed a month later by WWC, but i just can't get hyped, why would i care if the GT Duo is the best card in the game, why would i care if the WWC units end up being the most hyped and broken units in the game, there's no content to use them on, i can already beat cell max and all red zones with units i got in 2022, we need devs that actually care for the game they're working on

Hello again everyone. If you’re reading this, you most likely have read my now deleted post from over a week ago. Boy, what difference a week can make.
I don’t want to downplay what I felt these past couple months, let alone couple weeks, which had spurred my former post. At the time it felt real to me. But I’m here now, hat in hand, to tell you it was all for naught. All of it, every single wasted, overthinking, sleepless night (and that's just what I'll admit to).
All the bad stuff, the overthinking, the taking things personally, the overreactions, everything I've felt, done, and thought, the places I took myself, all of it... was a result of one big, giant, huge misunderstanding. From original events I had taken the wrong way (at the time I thought intentional), my mind ran with it, concocting the worst feelings and suggestions one can think/make. Then it snowballed not once but twice, which took me deeper and deeper till after the second time I got to the point I was going to call Reddit quits as well. Honestly, I was *this* close; it was really bad.
But there is a light at the end of this tunnel. Thanks in full to a kind and understanding mod dev (you know who you are) who took it upon themselves to help, honestly bringing me back from the brink, they put me in contact with the right guy to settle things. After talking things through we cleared the misconceptions up, and saw it for what it was: just one big, giant, huge misunderstanding. It was a monumental relief.
This has turned out to be nothing short of downright embarrassing, shameful, and even humiliating. My God… if you thought I felt bad before, I somehow manage to feel even worse now. I was way too hasty in quitting (not just making guides), and should have done a much better job working/toughening it out. I had it buried, way in the back of my mind, that it all couldn’t be true, it must be an oversight, unintentional, a misunderstanding, or what have you. I was right, and would have given anything to realize it at the time, but I just couldn’t. My assumptions, preconceptions, even ego, my … whatever, blinded me to it.
I cannot apologize enough to the people originally involved, whether they even know what happened or not. And to those who follow me (never thought I'd ever say that!), I must have given you all a right good scare. For it to be so sudden like that, with no forewarning whatsoever. I just… did what I thought was best at the time, even if now it is shown to be oh so wrong.
Even more so I want to apologize to everyone who commented on my previous post. I was really not ready to quit like that, and needed some time away after I posted it. It ended up I couldn’t even look at the replies, it was way too difficult. It hits way too hard when people say goodbye like that when you don’t really want to go. They made it real (if that makes sense). Though I’ve deleted the post, I did look the comments over before I did so hopefully you all will see this: thank you, your kind words were more than I deserved.

Double or Nothing
Kenny Omega's list of trusted companions grows shorter, as Konosuke Takeshita and Don Callis help the BCC defeat the Elite, the show closing with the BCC welcoming Takeshita to their ranks - only to tell Callis to leave, Don satisfied enough with having cost Omega.

However, Omega’s list of problems grows longer, because Dominion sees Will Ospreay defeat Lance Archer to become Kenny’s challenger for Forbidden Door, plus Moxley, Danielson and Umino winning the NEVER Six-Man Titles. Omega tries to build up steam, but falls short in a Dynamite main with Takeshita, while Callis teases aligning with Ospreay, infuriating Kenny even further. Ospreay says he’s fighting not only for his title, but because Omega took his family by signing Aussie Open away from NJPW, setting the stage for higher tensions than ever.

Forbidden Door
With Callis on commentary, a distracted Omega can’t put Ospreay away - and vice versa, as the anticipated sequel goes to a draw, Kenny retaining, but clearly off his game. However, Callis doesn’t join Ospreay’s side, both competitors leaving with their respective stables.

Feeling despondent over his lack of success, Omega turns to the Elite, feeling that a tag run with Hangman might return him to form, or at the very least spite Aussie Open as they go for the AEW Tag Titles. They have a few tag victories before finally winning a battle royal to become contenders to FTR at All Out, but not before Omega has a dream match alongside Okada, victorious over the BCC at the G1 Finals. Wembley is treated to a spectacle, the Elite accompanying Omega for a heartbreaking loss, Ospreay celebrating with his family in the United Empire. It’s a bad night for the Elite, with Aussie Open picking up the pin alongside Catch 2/2 over the imploding alliance of FTR and the Young Bucks, leading to next weekend.

All Out
Aussie Open defeat Hangman, Omega, the Bucks and FTR to claim AEW Tag gold, celebrating with Will Ospreay - who shakes Omega’s hand, burying the hatchet as Kenny realizes the pressure placed upon Ospreay to fill his boots, and that Callis’ ramblings about joining the Kingpin were just a spiteful ruse.

While he may be personally growing, Omega’s still more dejected than ever off the back of two consecutive major failures. He tries to rally the Elite into banding together to chase the Trios gold, or the Tag Belts with Hangman, but Page wants to chase singles gold and the Bucks are still upset over the four way loss. Feeling unwanted and disappointed in himself, Omega looks to turn things around in the Full Gear Eliminator - only to be eliminated in the first round by Bryan Danielson, due to unrequested interference by Wheeler Yuta.
Omega laments that he’s nothing without support, unyielding as he challenges the BCC to one more war, desperate to prove himself and hurt by Don’s abandonment. However, Hangman reminds him of the insecurity he felt years ago, and tells him that nobody wants Callis around - not the Empire, nor the BCC, nor Omega’s friends - because Don’s a friend to nobody. Friendship matters most when it’s inconvenient, and the Elite vow to stand beside Kenny against Moxley, Takeshita, Claudio, Yuta and Umino, before bringing out one more ally for Kenny in Kota Ibushi.

Full Gear
The BCC has an awful night, with Danielson falling to Darby Allin in the Eliminator Finals and the Golden Elite taking home a decisive victory. Things are looking up for Kenny, and he’s brought up as a viable future contender on commentary as he begins picking up countless wins on Dynamite.

Winter is Coming
However, Omega’s roll comes to a halt after being psyched out by one last vindictive deed - a text from Callis, saying he’s not a cutthroat competitor and that’s why he can’t get the job done as a star or as a meal ticket. Kenny tries to convince himself he doesn’t care, but falls short in a tag team bout alongside Ibushi later in the night, keeping Omega high in the singles rankings but dealing a major blow to his confidence.
The main event sees Darby Allin finally defeat MJF with a headlock takeover, sparing AEW the risk of losing its title in 2024 - only for Jay White to cash in his Casino Chip and take the gold.

The Golden Elite pull Kenny aside and finally tell him to snap out of it - Callis and Takeshita betrayed him, but they’re there for him no matter what. Ibushi manages him for a bout against Juice Robinson that Omega wins with relative ease, but Darby Allin earns the right to a rematch with White at Revolution, leaving Kenny out in the cold. However, there’s one other true contender to the title - Konosuke Takeshita, and Omega challenges him to a match at Revolution to put everything behind him.

With the Golden Elite by his side, Kenny defeats Takeshita in a grueling bout, convincing himself that Callis’ abandonment was in error, and he’s better off without him. Now truly the top contender, he challenges a victorious Jay White to end the show…

I think people generally think yes, but I'd love to hear opinions on it, friendly discourse. I'm on a rewatch where this time I plan on finishing it(initially got up to season 10, around mid season), and I don't know.
This is my opinion on it. Daryl, Sasha, and Abraham ran into them on the road and the saviors were planning on killing them and taking everything they had. Obviously Daryl killed them in self defense, so that happened.
I don't know which was first, but the saviors were already taking advantage of the Hilltop, as Rick heard about how Neagan bashed in the head of a 16 year old boy. Mind you of course Carl is his son, so hearing that probably hit too close to home.
So hearing those two things about the saviors.. I honestly believe that even if they didn't attack the compound, word would've gotten out about the attack on the road and Neagan would've came for them anyway, either that or trying to trade/"take away" resources from Hilltop.
When they went into the compound, Glenn also saw a guy sleeping right below polaroids of bashed in heads. It's obvious that most of them are brainwashed at this point, and at least some of them are proud of it.
You also gotta think about ricks position. His entire community was in danger of these saviors. And if he didn't try to do anything, he would've essentially been rolling over and being taken advantage of at the expense of them. And heads would've gotten bashed in anyway, even if he didn't kill those guys at the compound.
I don't think Rick was stupid for that idea. I think he was someone trying to protect his family. Sure I get some people in the apocalypse would find it easier to roll over, comply, even at their own expense, but that hasn't been Ricks persona in a long time. Also, had he been successful in killing all of the saviors, he would've saved Hilltop + Alexandria.
Extreme yes, but I don't think he was necessarily wrong to have the line of thinking to try to kill all of the saviors. I feel like trying to protect family, there's not a lot you wouldn't do.

Hey everyone,
So, while I was playing Satisfactory on Steam two weeks ago, my computer crashed to the desktop. In response, I figured I'd check that my Graphics Driver was up to date, and, as it happened, it needed to be updated (something like going from 24.10.1 to 24.10.4), which I did. No issues on the install, but it instructed me to finish my installation by restarting the computer. No problem. So I restart, but when the computer powers back on, I have absolutely no video signal to my monitors. No loading wheel, no BIOS flash, no indications of video signal at all. I've tried most everything I can think of, and it seems like most of the stock Windows troubleshooting is useless. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Here is a list of my attempted solutions:
Power cycled several times
Removed and reinstalled my CMOS battery
Shorted my CMOS Reset
Pulled the original GPU
Installed an old graphics card & connected video cables
Reinstalled the original GPU (I put it back in the original slot, I didn't put it in a different slot)
Tried all 3 of my graphics outs on the GPU, and the HDMI out on the mobo, to multiple monitors
Unplugged all nonessential USB devices
Plugged in a bootable USB Stick to try to do a fresh Windows install

Additional Diagnostic information:
All of my lights in the case power on, my case, CPU and GPU fans spin up, and my keyboard RGB's come on, but the keyboard doesn't respond to anything (ex. pressing Num Lock doesn't light the NUM LOCK light)
I had a similar problem happen about 2 years ago, where I also lost all video. However, it just randomly resolved itself 4 days later, so I don't know what the solution to it was.

Hey everyone,
I'm looking for a fun film camera to compliment my digital OM-1 but not really sure what is good and what to avoid in the analog world of this hobby. I think an original OM-1 would be a lot of fun to have both new and old versions, but open to many options as my lenses won't be compatible.
As for a lens, I do mostly automotive/racing photography so I'm not sure what would pair well with that. I do some nature/landscape when I travel as well, but not a ton. I do really love my insanely crisp photos, but not expecting it to be like my current OM-1. I'm game for a separate lens and body purchase or a combo if you have something nice and ready to ship.
Budget is around $200-$300, but could stretch it a bit more if you have something really cool. I'm not specifically looking for expensive pieces, but might consider it.

I finished a very basic upgrade from a 4670k on ddr3 to a 7700x on ddr5 due to motherboard failure. I thought I would share a bit for those of you who are looking to do a similar thing as you may experience some of the issues I did regardless of the hardware you choose.
Hardware:
I kept my seasonic focus 650w ps as it is newer, two older HDDs and one sata. I also kept my zalman z9 neo case and my EVGA 1070 FTW. I will eventually upgrade the video but for now I just needed a working PC since my motherboard popped a few weeks back.
I spent a lot of time reviewing and looking at processors. I decided to go with the 7700x. I am still not 100% sure if I made the right choice, but the 13600k at the time was about $40 more expensive for the build. I was also a little worried about the power draw and heat. I was going to grab a 7700, but the 7700x was $20 cheaper, and I wanted to buy a slightly better cooler.
I grabbed a thermalright Frost tower 120 (ft120) because the PAs were out of stock and it was roughly the same design and price anyway. I grabbed 32 gigs of G.Skill Flare DDR5 6000 cl32 with expo, as the 6000 appears to be a the sweet spot for AM5. I was hoping to get cl30, but the cost was $10 more and I am not sure the performance would be worth it.
The motherboard was also a challenge. The AM5 mobos are expensive, but so are the intel ones. I was going to grab a b650m, but there were a number of complaints about coil whine and so I ended up grabbing a b650 x gamer ax. It is a decent no frills board, and based on tech spots review a good one for everything up and through a 7950x.
I also grabbed some mx-4 paste because it seems to be the goto paste (I wasn't sure how good the paste with the cooler would be), and an NVME drive to move my games to. I have Artic Silver 5 but it is many moons old.
Build:
Hardware assembly was pretty easy. The only issue I had was putting the fans on the CPU HS (they were just a bit of a pita because everything was tight). Everything else was fine.
First boot was a no go. I knew power was fine because all my fans ramped up including the vid card. However, I had the red VGA light on my the mobo and a black screen. I hook up to the chipset display port and I got into the bios. So I was wondering if I had a bad vid card, but I did not.
This next part took me a good hour or more to figure out. Basically the bios showed no boot drives available, yet showed all of my drives hooked up and working. Previously, I had upgraded to windows 10, and apparently times have changed and most systems now use a GPT file system, where as mine was an MBR based boot drive. The motherboard is set to boot into GPT by default and would NOT boot on a legacy MBR system. So it took me a long time to figure that out and how to turn on legacy support mode.
I also learned that the AMD processors video does not appear to support Display port out with legacy mode enabled. So after I enabled legacy support I was back to a black screen again. I reset the bios and researched until I found that I had to switch back to my 1070 in legacy mode. So I re-enabled legacy mode, switched back to the 1070 and finally everything fired up.
Win 10 then found all my hardware and redid all the drivers. In order to fix the legacy mode issues I had to download a MS utility called MBR2GPT which converted my boot drive to the new format without losing any data. Then I had to go back to the bios and reset everything back to default.
It now booted fine in normal mode except I still had the red vga light on my mobo lit. So after much research I found that some of the older cards require a DP bios update to support 1.3 and 1.4. Nvidia has a checker that will update your card if needed and walla! the light went away. Now everything seemed to work the way it was suppose to.
I then enabled expo in my bio and it found the ram timings right away and fired it up exactly as specc'd with no issues. The system boots very fast and both the proc and the ram were running at rated speeds.
I then ran cinebench and found myself staring at expected performance, but right at a 95 temp on the die (the actual cores were less). Disappointed there, and not sure why but at least there was no thermal throttling and it ran just fine, but stayed really close to that 95.
I then went back into the bios and under PBO put in the values for eco mode. This was pretty easy and a very cool setting as my single core performance remained completely unchanged and my multicore performance dropped to 7700 levels, yet my temps plummeted to 68c. So I kept that.
My final hurdle was fan curve. The default fan curves are bad and the FT120 will ramp up and down quickly because the AMD processor temps apparently spike quickly when initially engaged before settling to normal. Once past about 65% the FT120 starts to get loud. So I put in a linear curve that is at 30% normally until 40% and then matches temp for temp up to 80c where it then ramps to 100% by the time it hits 90c. Gaming I stay around 65 and I idle around 40.
Overall, I am pretty happy, though I am still not sure I made the right processor choice, but I like that I can consider throwing in a 8800x3d or 9800x3d in a few years (probably won't do it though).
Performance is excellent and my 1070 is doing just fine with most games these days with a few tweaks downward in quality I still can play what I want.
Power wise my 650 is more than enough especially with my 7700x in eco mode.
I will say I am still not sure why the FT120 doesn't do as well at full load when not in eco mode in cinebench, but I am not likely to use non eco mode anytime soon and maybe someday I will try to tackle it.
I hope some of what I have done can help a few of you who experience similar issues, but overall the system is running incredibly smooth and basic performance is incredibly enhanced. I do have a few windows issues to work out but those have nothing to do with the hardware and everything to do with MS family SUX.

At Google I/O, Google announced that "you'll be able to bring your own inspiration to customize your lock screen with new shortcuts and beautifully crafted clocks." They shared a video showing lock screen shortcut customization, but they didn't show off every shortcut that'll be available. I was able to get the feature fully working on my device, so if you're wondering, here are the currently available shortcuts:

• QR code scanner
• Flashlight
• Video camera
• Notetaking (see below for explanation)
• Mute
• Wallet
• Camera
• Do Not Disturb
• Device Controls

Here's a screenshot showing the lock screen shortcut customization UI. And here's a screen recording that shows the feature in action. Note that you can only place a single shortcut on both the left and the right, and that you have to long-press a shortcut to activate it.
Most of the lock screen shortcuts are pretty self-explanatory. Wallet is greyed out because I haven't added a card yet, while notetaking is greyed out because I don't have an app set as the "default notes app." As I explained in an earlier thread, Android 14 adds support for a default notes app. The default notes app can use the new AppClips API/feature to trigger a screenshot to be taken that the user can edit before inserting into a note.
Given that the Pixel Tablet supports USI 2.0 stylus pens, I'm guessing this whole notetaking feature is intended for that device. Though Google hasn't announced a 1P stylus accessory (yet), and it doesn't seem like Google Keep supports this feature either for now.
Google said that the lock screen shortcut customization feature will be available "next month", so we can expect to see it in Android 14 Beta 3 for Pixel. Fortunately, lock screen shortcuts aren't exclusive to Pixel, unlike the new wallpaper features. The shortcut code is available in AOSP (it's called "keyguard quick affordances") as is the documentation. Hopefully the OEMs that don't already offer such a feature enable this implementation in their respective Android 14 builds!

When I first got with my partner, he checked all my boxes. Dates twice a week he spent quality time with me open the doors and things like that here we are and I realize that he’s a narcissist when he doesn’t want to spend time with me . Instead of saying that he said he sick and then I asked a couple weeks later and he’s like what are you talking about? I just stay home today. So I called it out today and he was like sorry I’ll ask for permission next time I’m sick. One of my things is that I like to be posted because I’ve been in relationships in the past where I was being hidden . I like little things like cards they don’t have to be expensive card. They can be a one dollar card. I have tried to leave before, and he literally cried. then he goes to me. I’m running my big account to the ground. I never ask for that. You’re the one who pretended you were a provider when in reality you were over spender

I made a large expense on my credit card recently which I planned to pay at the due date as usual, but noticed the "pay over time" option. Now these typically have fees associated with them, but from what I can see there are no charges? Is it a bank error or a benefit for good credit?
It would be nice to pay this off slowly and use my cash to invest if there are no fees or interest. Now my credit score dipped 30 points due to the extra usage but it's still sitting at 790, otherwise I don't see any downsides? I don't plan to use credit for anything in the near future. Would my balance still carryover and interest be charged per the credit card agreement or am I in the clear here?
P.S - No other debt, cards paid off in full. $80k+ in cash. So I'm not going to dig myself into a financial hole or anything.

I know there are so many aspects of old school survivor we all miss and talk about daily but one thing that’s rarely discussed is how the tribes are chosen! So much in the game is determined by the starting tribes. If you have a few weaker players, you’ll go to more tribals. Your alliance members will most likely be from your starting tribe. Everything relies on that one big thing, and for the majority of seasons it’s determined by production. I’m not sure if it’s a random draw or producers putting people they want to succeed or fail together, but I so much more prefer when the castaways have the agency to pick their own tribes. Especially on seasons where there’s no theme, let them have the agency to decide who they’re playing with because it really does decide the path the game will take. Even if starting tribes are predetermined, the swap in Amazon was so well done with Jenna and Dave school yard picking. New school survivor has taken so much agency away from their players and it feels like the game is more in the control of the producers than the castaways.
