hey, none of you know me and this is a really random post to make considering i'm an extremely inactive reddit user who doesn't like the site too much, but krr is a website that constantly comes back to me. its a tiny relic in my life that i only frequented for a few years
in 2019, i was into making crappy rpgs. i had this really terrible free rpg maker alternative i used because i had turned 13 about 2 months prior and didn't know about the dirt cheap sales the rpg makers get on steam yet. i wanted to make rpgs about any franchise that i enjoyed enough, the big 3 were mario, puyo puyo, and pokemon. i have no clue why mario was one because i haven't been a massive fan of it since i was about 4, but somewhere down the line i threw in kirby. i experimented w some kirby fan stuff before, a bit before that i made some esgy kirby comment hosted on a blogspot that never went anywhere. but i was dedicated to these rpgs, i had churned out 2 complete ones and one demo. feeling dedicated to this and being an avid lover of forums at that time, i decided to just google kirby forums, and krr was one of the first results.
my username was cosmickirb and, at this point, there were 3 active members not including me. soul-of-marx, keeby64, and joshi. marx and keeby were regular members, joshi was a mod. we all became friends pretty quickly. marx had a lot of the same humor as me, so we goofed off a lot, while keeby was kind of the straight man of the group, and she'd usually post more normal things. i remember a big joke between me and marx in specific was buff gooey, a poorly photoshopped image of gooey ontop of a buff dude, and a bunch of other edits of the same caliber.
eventually 2 more members became active, diggedery (i believe thats how their username was spelled?) and metaknee. dig was another mod that stuck around for a while before falling inactive, but metaknee ended up sticking around, she actually contacted me earlier this month which was nice, even wished me happy birthday since my birthday was soon at that point. we made a thread on the site chicken smoothie to promote krr too since cs is decently active.
the real downdall was definitely 2020. when 2020 rolled around, the forum broke. we couldnt sign in, and if we were signed in, we couldnt post. new users couldnt sign up either. i dont remember if i pmed marx about this first or she pmed me about it first, but the site was unusable until about late 2020. i found out about it coming back a bit late, but it was too late at that point. most of us had moved on, the site was just never as active as it was in 2019.
most of us barely talk now despite how much we talked back then. marx just posts art to deviantart now, ans i couldnt tell you where keeby went. metaknee always pops up every so often, and joshi fell inactive after the 2020 thing happened. i miss the site a lot, the forum is completely down now. but i hope you enjoyed my story of how, in 2019, 3 teenagers came together to try to revive an old kirby forum, and it sort of worked considering how active it was with just our little group.

The facts:
- my ex and I bought a home a few years ago as joint tenants with rights of survivorship, we weren’t married, and common law marriage is not recognized in our state.
- We are both on the deed, however my ex is on the mortgage note alone, pays the mortgage alone, and we had no contracts written about me contributing or what would happen in worst case. The intention was to have me be a stay at home mom and we were trying to have children.
- Immediately upon moving in, he became controlling and abusive. I don’t want to delve into this but eventually it escalated and I now have permanent injuries that cause a great deal of pain and loss of use of a limb, and a restraining order, and he was removed from the home.
- He is financially very well off. I work and could afford the home but do not have the work history and credit at the moment to buy him out.
- I am working feverishly to save and build credit to keep the home but I need more time. Likely 12-18 months. He is preparing to bring a partition action against me to force the sale of the home. I understand that it is his right to do so.

Find out customer went to BMW dealership and had an oil filter housing gasket replaced amongst other things. Pull the codes - oil pressure plausibility and oil pressure too high.
Pull the dipstick and "You aint got no oil in there Lt. Daaaan!"
Customer is 1.5 qts. low on N18 engine after a dealer performed repair. Customer drove on that for a while.
I check under and there is oil all over the undercarriage, I check on top and multiple clamps are too loose, lines arnt clipped back in, and codes indicate a bunch of electrical shorts around the housing.
Idk about you, but I expect a certain level of quality from a BMW dealer repair, considering how much they charge. This kind of crap makes me cringe, why do this to your own customers ?

Our company is finally trying to grow up and has adopted ZoomInfo, Hubspot, and Sales Navigator. We are moving away from sf to fully using hubspot. They’re also pushing us to do more of our own outbound.
Can anyone share some top use cases for using them in conjunction? We’ve got them all integrated into office365 and are now tracking some metrics (sadly). All of these tools are powerful. We have huge territories that are just entire verticals each. So that in of itself is a challenge.
I find I can spend time, a full or half day, just trying to figure out the best process to use them well. It’s overwhelming. We just got training on sequences and templates. Intents for ZI. Sales navigator is pretty nice actually for my industry which is pretty niche.

Hey there — I'm hoping this sub can provide some perspective and advice on my current work situation. If anything in the below mass of text resonates with you, I'd love to know. Maybe I'm being a baby? LMK.
I am desperately applying for other jobs, but I am only 6 months into this position. Is it worth sucking things up and sticking around?
Spoilers: Forced to return in-person, bad boss, additional work but no additional pay
Background
I am a semi-recent grad (2020) working in the marketing department of older company with a settled workforce — most have been there for 10+ years, and they are fairly impassionate about the work. They just coast, and barely. Though I'm in a stage where I'm looking to grow and learn in my career, I don't necessarily have a problem with the coasting. I DREAM of coasting. It's just that I'm the only one working, the department seems to be collapsing, and it feels like it's on me to save it.. just 6 months after my start date.
I'm practically entry level in my department, but have taken on a large portion of my boss's work. Most of my challenges are organizational: siloed workflows, no one is clear on what other people do, impossible deadlines are set by disorganized teams. I've had to fix operational challenges and overhaul processes that should have been fixed by my manager when they started a decade ago.
My boss continues to slough more work onto my plate. When I ask them for support on projects, they agree to help but then at the 11th hour either provide me with incorrect / bad work, or they admit they forgot to do it and tell me to handle. I can't depend on them. I've worked overtime so many days because of this (salaried / exempt, unfortunately). Pushing back has been challenging, because I don't know how to ask my boss for help when they are part of the problem.
I've risen to the challenge for the most part. I am well known on the team as providing the best work in a timely, organized way, and I'm an incidental Golden Child of the department VP who likes my "zest" for innovating... or whatever. That said, I don't see any potential for career growth here (I feel like I'm teaching my boss, not the other way around) and I've been noticing a creeping sense of burn out, in spite of my best efforts to set boundaries.
The Current Situation
Last week, the department VP (responding to bad revenue projections) is panicking. In an emotionally charged meeting, they shared the following with us:
Now, this week, I've learned that I will be taking on the bulk of responsibilities left over from the laid-off employees. These are not responsibilities I was hired for, and additionally they are responsibilities of a titled manager (my title is below that of a manager).
I asked my boss if we will re-prioritize goals to adjust for the new categories I'll be handling and they responded no, that we just need to "work smarter". They have previously shown no talent for working smart, so I'm not feeling hopeful here. I was already working consistent overtime, and now I'm being told we're in a "crunch time" and I can expect a bit more work.
I'm also frustrated remote work affords me the ability to actually rest. Even when I'm up til 11 working, I can get at least 7 hours in. Now I have to add a commute to my day (in Los Angeles, no less).
Could someone shine a light on what's going on here? I'm so constantly overwhelmed with the workload that I can't get a proper read on this.

- 2 people were laid off in a restructuring
- We're in a hiring freeze
- All additional work will be moved around onto plates of those who currently work here.
- Revenue is down and it's on us to find new ways to provide value (note: there is no transparency for how much income our department is bringing in and what's driving it, due to poor communication from the top down. I don't know what provides value and what needs improving. I have asked multiple times for clarity, but am just vaguely told to "add value" with no indication of what that means.)
- We are replaceable, and our work can be done my computers
- Our previously remote jobs will now be in-person 3 days a week (at least) because "teams should be in person"

I (F15) have anxiety and depression. I got my diagnosis about a year ago, after finally getting access to a psychiatrist.
To give you some background, my parents moved with me and my brother out of my native country when I was 4. That’s when my anxiety began, we didn’t know what it was so we always thought I was just a dramatic crier. About 7 years went by when I had almost no friends, and when I turned 11 I got to know a classmate of mine V. We became really close. Then Christmas 2020 my dad said he had gotten a job in my home country and that he was moving there. My mom didn’t want to go back, but he said that if she didn’t go with him they could just divorce. (They have always been deeply in love with each other,) and my mom had a mental breakdown. We ended up moving, completely shattering my mental health and relationship with my dad. We slowly built it back up, and we are finally close again. Then in April 2022 my dad confessed that he had released from his sobriety from alcohol in 2019 (he had been sober for 21 years) and that he was joining AA. My life here was horrible, my classmates made fun of me everyday. I had no friends, I was miserable. Then about a month ago I tried to off myself. I told my mom about two weeks ago, and she took me to an emergency room. Where they decided I wasn’t so at risk that I needs to go to a mental hospital. But we should come back the following Friday to meet two therapists. My parents and I went to the meeting, and we went through my life from the beginning. About a week before I had found a memory box with things from before we moved, and I had a panic attack. My dad came to comfort me, but after I hadn’t responded in the first 10 seconds he started yelling at me to stand up and to stop. He did it repeatedly which only made it worse, and then he just gave up. He went to the dinner table, put on headphones and just scrolled on Facebook while I was literally having a panic attack 4 meters away. Then at the meeting I brought up that I would like for them to know how to react when an PA happens yk. Then I told them wha happened and my dad said: “I mean, it looked so fake! And it came out of nowhere! Of course I didn’t care, you’re probably just faking it for attention! You have a history of being dramatic for attention!” Then he mentioned an incident that happened when I was 5. I was literally 5. Then I said “Why would I? It’s something I struggle with everyday. It wouldn’t benefit me at all to do that!” And he just started rambling about how much of an attention seeker I am and that I probably don’t even have anxiety. Then I said “I could say the same about your alcoholism! But I don’t, because I’m trying to support you through this, why can’t you just return it?” That’s when he started defending the reason he reacted the way he did when I had the PA. All I wanted to hear was “I’m sorry.” Is that too much to ask for?

I’ve been running with a setup from college of a sony recover and some Polk bookshelf's that me and a buddy wired up almost 10 years ago.
Recently took advantage of a Best Buy sale, and picked up a set of Kef R5s and an open box Arcam AVR10 receiver.
First, anyone know if the Arcam is as terrible as that one review says? Sounds like it’ll be a tedious setup, but I got a great deal so can put up with that if it sounds good. Sound quality for music is def the biggest thing for me.
It also sounds like I’m going to want to bi-amp the speakers, and I was curious what type of speaker wire would be needed to do that? The Kef’s are 8 ohms, and honestly have no idea what I’ll need. Wiring probably won’t run more than 4-5 feet. Also remembering I used banana plugs for my prior setup, and not sure if there are special considerations when picking those out since I bought the last set at a Radio Shack “we’re going out of business” blowout. Lol
Any advice or input appreciated!

2023.06.01 03:14 luvfarming Total loss- can I replace vehicle before total loss is finalized?
My car is totaled per the adjuster. It’s taking forever even just waiting for the final value from adjuster. Verbally I was told an amount. I do have an exact dollar amount written down from phone conversation. Haven’t received check yet either. It’s all pending due to them obviously being understaffed. If I replace my vehicle before it’s finalized (I need to be able to drive to work), will I still get reimbursed the $2,000 in sales tax the adjuster estimated I would get? Or does vehicle have to be purchased after total loss paperwork sent to me? I have placed a call as well, but of course the staffing at the carrier is awful. The service is awful too.
