Anyone else missing the Voobly days?
I love AOE and have been playing it for more then 2 decades, but lately I am getting quite over it. I feel like the devs break more then what they fix. The constant updates, and having to re select your mods (is it really that hard to keep the settings on after an update?), different mappools with maps no one wants to play. And the unranked lobby browser that has been broken for the last couple of updates... If I want to play a specific map its not even possible in the unranked pool.
And also I still feel like all the new Civs are completely unnecessary, and dont add anything of value to the game. They also still feel very unbalanced. I just miss the Voobly days, where you can just choose a map, wait a bit, and play that map. Easy...

I'm quite a friendly easygoing dude, love working out and I've been racing quadbikes since I was a kid. On the offhand I'd absolutely die for some chocolate mouse right now but otherwise I''m quite into a few games/series like CSGO,Apex and a few others.

I'm playing in a long term campaign, and my DM is allowing me to change my levels from wizard to warlock. We are at level 17. Some general guidelines are: 1.Should be a melee build. Doesn't need to use Pact of the Blade if you have a better idea. 2. Can use multi-classing. 3. Should have a reason to be melee and not just blast from the back lines (though it should be able to be flexible). 4. Can't use paladin, as another PC changed to paladin, and I don't wanna steal all of their thunder. I'm mostly using Seeker (UA subclass) for this because it would work decently with the patron, and it has Astral Refuge which allows me to use a bonus action to cast 2 self spells (such as AoA and Spirit Shroud, then next round True Strike and Blade Ward), which would be great for the melee aspect of the build as self spells benefit that play style well.

Today I had to take my mum to the doctor and I decided to spend the waiting time at the wildlife enclosure. I just love to pet and feed the deer and I haven't been there in years.
I walked there for a quarter of an hour through the forest and there was only a father with his son on the swings of the playground and a mother with her daughter came right after me. The mom and daughter started to feed the sikas and the other deer started to complain so I got them some snacks too. One enclosure is closer to the snack automat, so these deers usually get more. I felt bad for the others.
But that's not my point. Right as one of the deer had his head in my paper cup the father came and started to talk to me. Just casual small talk. Nothing bad. But I just wanted to feed the deer. I'm very introverted but since he was nice and didn't give off creeper vibes I gave short answers and avoided eye contact hoping he would leave. He didn't, so I went to a enclosure farther away in the hopes of him going back to his son. He didn't.
Well, after that I said I had to go now and left. I walked down the road and stopped to move a small snake from the road (yes, I screamed and dropped it when it suddenly twisted around my hand, but I got it to safety in the end!).
That's when I saw him walk after me. He said he wanted to ask me for my number because he thought I was friendly and he would like to keep in contact. I gave it to him because I didn't want to reject someone in the middle of a forest and I thought I could still block him.
But well, I really just wanted to pet the deer in peace :( Now I have to nicely reject this guy because while he was really friendly I am not interested in men at all.
I don't even know what I want to tell you. I guess I just need to get this off my chest.

Hi everyone, just like title says, I don't think subs on yt and morphic fields(sapien,QI etc) work for me, I'm thinking one of the three reasons, either my subconscious mind doesn't really accept English affs(my native is not English), or yt subs not made properly(over-speed or overlayered or both), or most of the yt comments are lying or fake. I seem to get some effects on my own subs(mental, not physical so far).
What do you think? I'd love to hear your opinions and recommendations.

I am a twenty-one-year-old male hailing from the eastern coast of the United States. What I like most about living on the eastern coast is that you've a wide range of scenery to take in and enjoy. I find myself quite enjoying photography, and really, I always have. To speak a million different words with a photo, all without uttering even one, is truly something to behold. The art of immortalizing any moment in time, in place, is something that, I feel, is often overlooked or understated.
Reading is something else I enjoy, and feel as though each book, each work of literature, is a world to get lost in. A time machine waiting to be operated; an elevator into vast, extraordinary new worlds. Much could be same for writing. The ability to create, from the ground up, anything you can envision with your mind by translating it into words is an activity I find to be immensely satisfying and serene.
I have a profound affection for music, and firmly believe that it caters to diverse tastes and preferences. Undoubtedly, music is a universal language that transcends linguistic barriers, enabling one to comprehend even songs written in unfamiliar tongues. If compelled to pick a favorite musical genre, I would opt for post-punk or grunge.
I do also enjoy movies, and would say that horror is my favorite genre, not just for movies, but as a genre in general.
I'd love to be able to make long-term friends, with people from all over the world, from all walks of life. Simply put, this is gonna adress the idea that "lore" and the DEMA storyline is something that's recent and therefore out of the blue and that it's a valid reason to dislike some of their newer work.
Here's how I personally see it:
Everything that the band has made is connected. There isn't really this sudden "here you go here's a convoluted storyline" moment. I just don't think this is the correct way to see things. Yes, the DEMA storyline was their first and most obvious attempt at actually crafting something that resembled lore, but for me, to say that this was somehow "different" or "overwhelming" just doesn't do the band justice.
Above all, Tyler has grown. Both as a person, and as an artist. I see twenty one pilots as something that is whole - complete and singular idea that evolved and grew over time, just like Tyler and Josh. From the very first songs Tyler ever wrote on No Phun Intended, where he deals with his relationship with God, his friends and himself, to the first official album Self Titled that was also mostly about faith in God. Obviously, Tyler has been dealing with these issues of mental health, his faith in God, and relationships with others for a long time. Each album can roughly present the same themes, but simply evolved, and different. Vessel was the culmination of this idea of conquering your darkness and always living to fight another day, but then Blurryface came along and presented a new way of looking at your insecurities and flaws. And then finally, you have Trench.
Trench and the storyline that followed it (as well as Blurryface to an extent) was the most mature, concious and serious attempt at simply putting together everything that was said before, into a new narrative, and setting the stage for finally resolving these conflicts.
What I love about Tyler is how you can very obviously see that his opinions and motives change. What he once felt might not be what he feels today. That's why so much of the bands music is connected to previous albums and songs, and why there's always callbacks to stuff that came before. Levitate referenced Car Radio, The Outside music video and lore referenced Migraine, Leave the City can blend into Truce at certain times, Goner and the Heavydirtysoul intro were released years before Blurryface was a thing, as so on. There really are countless examples.
This is because twenty one pilots, as a whole, is an idea. Or rather, an ideology that has evolved. The recent lore was always there, it always had a basis for existing, its just that it was simply recently made official, and I think Tyler knew that.
This might not be too clear or sound of an argument for everyone, and that's perfectly fine, since I don't want to force anyone into knowing all the lore and tiny details. If you listen to their songs completely on their own, then great, I have nothing against that. All I'm trying to say is, this is just the natural evolution of the band and the message Tyler is trying to bring. Creativity is our greatest tool in dealing with our demons, something that Tyler mentioned all the way back in Kitchen Sink, then materialised in the form of Ned in Chlorine. The current lore represents the idea of finally putting this into practice, by making an actual, real story in order to present and package together everything that came before. The idea that our brains are sick but that's okay, the idea that the sun will always rise and we will try again, and the idea that our mental health struggles are something we can conquer is fundamental. Loving your family, your partner, your siblings, your friends, and having faith in something greater than yourself.
This band has helped many people stay alive and find their purpose, and no matter how convoluted the lore might seem, in the end, it all comes back to this simple message:
We're twenty one pilots, and so are you.
This is OUR band. This is OUR story. So live on, pass on these songs.

Im trying to rent a space for my self , im 34 f, middleeastreb , full-time job, paid well, no pets, will be living alone . Clean record of paying my rent on time . There is no issue on my credit card . Very clean and tidy and very calm person .
For a while now, i tried renting my own house, and it is not working.
I went to various viewings, and i loved various spots and wanted to move forward with the spots, but the landlord ended up choosing someone else .
I show up in nice clothes, be very polite, show interest in the houses, ask normal questions and that's it.
Any tips ? How do you nail a house viewing ? They are harder than full-time jobs ..

Sorry, this is going to be lengthy. Apologies in advance if this has been asked before, i tried to look it up on the subreddit but I found queries about safety etc which i don't want to touch upon.
3-4 of us are planning a trip to Sri Lanka in December from North India. None of us have travelled to SL before and i need recommendations for everything. I (27F) have only heard wonderfull things about the country, the food nd people there and ideally we'll be there 10-12 days.

1. What are the must visit places? I don't particularly enjoy cities or very urban places. I'd rather spend time on beaches (preferably not very crowded and clean beaches) or in the mountains or the jungles. Open to recommendations for safaris etc as I'd love to see wild elephants or other animals.
   
2. Food recommendations - again I've heard only great things about the food, so I'm thrilled. But based on the locations are there some places one must check out. All of us are comfortable with spicy food and enjoy Street food (our tummies can handle it too!)
   
3. Any specific temples or cultural spots essential to the region. Any handicrafts unique to the country which we must pick up/ check out. (I love handloom and handicrafts)
   
4. We know English (and Hindi which i feel would be pretty useless there) so will that be sufficient so shall I get in touch with my friends in the region for translators etc.
