We're a family of four (including two 8-year old boys) planning 1-2 weekend days (Sat and/or Sun) to visit El Yunque and surrounding areas, while based in San Juan. We're most interested in swimming (waterfalls and charcos), food (lechon), and some quick+easy hikes (nothing more than an hour roundtrip).
Looking at drive times in Google maps it seems feasible to do La Ruta del Lechon > El Yunque > Luqillo beach kiosks in one day (~3.5 hrs roundtrip from San Juan). A few questions:

1. Is that true, or would we need two days? (staying overnight in the area)
2. Would you begin w/ La Ruta del Lechon or El Yunque? I've read that lechon road (PR-184) can become gridlocked in the afternoon but that El Yunque is likewise very busy on weekend afternoons.
3. To save time, should we skip the ticketed La Mina area of El Yunque and just drive the outskirts (PR-988, PR-191) visiting stops like Charco El Hippie if they're quite similar to the main El Yunque park?
4. Is the El Toro scenic byway (PR-186) worth the extra drive time when completing the circuit?
5. Bonus: What trails/waterfalls/swimming holes would you recommend within and around El Yunque that require at most a quick and easy hike?

So long story short, my party of five level 7s tried to take on the werewolf den and failed miserably. They tried to retreat, but we had a PC that was KIA.
The whole party split and ran in opposite directions. I am now running individual "mini-sessions" for every single player (+1 surprise PC) for flavor, processing their grief, and giving each player an opportunity to do whatever they want in Barovia.
I spoke with all players 1 on 1 after the session. They all told me what they want to do, and it is all feasible and I can homebrew something with no problem at all. They all want to keep their mini-session a secret until they meet again.
Here is my issue...
One of the players, let's call him Jimmy, had both of his brothers (PCs) die in Barovia. He told me Jimmy has lost all hope and is blind with anger, so he wild shaped into a bird and he wants to fly right up to Castle Ravenloft to have a word with the big guy...
Do I have Strahd immediately kill him? Offer him a way out of Barovia? Corrupt him? Give him a tour of the Castle? Braid each other's hair? Bake pies? Talk shit about Van Ricten? Take turns wild shaping into bats and doing laps around the Castle?
I want something ridiculous. This player has been the definition of chaos in this campaign and I want to return the favor.
They have not had dinner with Strahd, but I am saving for a little down the road. The way they handled Ireena is a perfect setup to run The Wedding.
Any tips or advice will help a lot, I have the session planned for Thursday.

Can someone help me please, basically in December 2020, my flatmate in uni caught covid, he never told me (they got reported countless times for breaking covid rules). I lived in uni accommodation from September 2020 to December 2020, and have accommodation fees of £1900 to pay.
The problem is the uni knew and did nothing about my flatmates constantly breaking covid rules when i have a seriously weak immune system, i ended up taking a test after seeing on their snapchat story they have covid and I ended up being positive. The uni still didn't do anything after I showed them the chat logs of my flatmates being rude about me just asking why you guys didnt tell me directly, i had to find out from their snapchat stories which i dont see if i dont open snapchat..
I've had a debt collector company contact me asking me to pay the £1900, for about a year now. however 2 months ago, I got in contact with the OIA who are doing their own investigations into this and haven't come up with a conclusion yet.
I just got an email from the debt collectors saying to come up with a payment plan/pay it all off, or else legal action will be taken and the uni told them that this is what they want them to do as they said "We have sought our clients instructions and their position remains the same."
In my uni's communications with the OIA which are like uni accommodation ombudsmen, they are really sympathic with me since my mum passed away, but are being relentless in trying to get the money, the uni said i cant complain since it's been too long, but are still able to ask me for money even though it's been so long..
Not to mention the normal service the uni provides are appalling the normal services like washing machine room doesn't work, no security at all, random people can just walk into campus at any time, they had covid tests in our campus as well and justified it by saying it was very far back of the campus.
I'm wondering if I have a case here? The uni i went to is Greenwich, I'm in contact with the OIA and the debt collectors are Judge & Priestley.
I'm aiming for at least 50% off the full fee because of all this, do I have a case here or not? or do you guys need more information? this has stressed me out for so long along with the loss of my mum, i'd really appreciate some advice from you guys

A lot of folks post that dry bud can be saved using a Boveda pack, but is that really true? I use Boveda packs all the time: for preserving bud, not restoring it. My experience has been that a Boveda pack can restore some humidity to dry bud, but it can't bring back what the bud lost in the process of drying out. You can test this out for yourself by comparing dried out flower from a VA dispensary and comparable flower from a place like Takoma Wellness Center.
Claiming that a Boveda pack will fix dried bud plays right into the hands of producers that would rather focus on profit than quality. Why let them off the hook that easily?

I wanted to post an update to my original post since I found those helpful when I was here earlier searching for answers. Unfortunately, it's a true positive for T18.
I had normal scans for both babies until last week when I went in for the fetal echo follow up at 19w. At that point, it was discovered that baby B has AVSD, a hypoplastic heart, a strawberry shaped head, and is measuring in the 1% for growth. It was all but confirmed for me, but I proceeded with the amnio just in case. I received the FISH results earlier today confirming T18 for B. Fortunately, everything looks normal for A.
I felt somewhat blindsided given how great everything was looking up until last week. In fact, if I had to put money on it, I would have guessed it was A with the diagnosis since she was measuring several days behind B (who was always right on with the gestational age based on ovulation date) for majority of my pregnancy.

Hello readers. I am unsure about the CasualUK and whether it's the correct subreddit, but I am sure that I can get a clue from wise users. I am working on a story for an International media (Asian) organisation about Truck drivers in the UK. The story is about the daily life of Truckers in the Uk and the comparison of their working style and human rights to that of third-world countries drivers. Some main points to be covered in the story are pay scale, working hours, human rights, mental health and social recognition. Hi everyone, my name is Michael (22M) and I'm a complete newbie when it comes to TTRPGs.
I'm willing to play and learn pretty much any system, though I have only done my homework on 5e and not a lot of it, to be honest. My researcher mostly consisted of watching YouTube videos about the different monsters, classes, basic rules and frankly quite a few horror stories... so at least I know what not to do 😅. If you want me to read or watch anything more, I will.
I have a character in mind but it's not set in stone, of course. Any changes you deem necessary can be made. It isn't anything super original, just an ex-mercenery human renger in search of his daughter (that I don't expect him to ever find). There is more but I don't want to ramble to much here.
I'm free every day after 20:00 (GMT +2) except if I have exams the next day, since I'm in university. Those dates will be known at least a month in advance.
I'm not interested in exploring any explicit sexual themes.

This story starts when I was 12 years old (for context I am now 18)
My mother lost custody of me and all 4 of my siblings (5 now but at the time was 4). Me and my siblings began living with our grandparents and have lived there ever since. My grandparents were fine at first, but in late 2020 began getting really bad towards me specifically.
They had stopped giving me dinner if i wasn't immediately down the stairs at the same time everyone else ate (there was food in the house for me to make myself though)
They had began forcing me to do harsh labour for little to no gain. This labour included:
Clearing up all the rubble from the roof being renovated, so many days and hours were spent around that time just clearing rubble. I didn't get food until after. I'd be late to college constantly due to clearing the rubble (this wasn't optional, and i received no payment and no compensation)
Helping build the roof on a house extension. Again, i had spent hours doing this with no compensation whilst being put into excruciating pain due to it.
Last year (august 2022), they had forced me to go to spain with them and refused to take no as an answer. They kept saying there was nowhere for me to stay despite the fact that my dad and older brother had offered to let me stay with them. My grandparents refused. They had told me that there was a bedroom for me to stay in whilst in spain, but i was left with a sunroom/conservatory to sleep in. This had no solid walls and was completely infested with mosquitos. I was severely sunburnt and covered in mosquito bites every morning after waking up. This is the most serious thing they had done and mostly what I'm wondering about.

hiya, im not the most mechanically inclined but the 350 is my dream car, im looking at one with a welded diff, i understand the basics and and some difficults it might bring wich im fine with, but some people (who have never daily drove a welded diff) told me its unsafe as i might break my drive shaft? is this true as im looking to daily it.

I've been mixing semi-professionally for several years. My gear, plugins, and workflow have changed over time and I've grown accustomed to my monitoring and room. I've noticed there are some things I do regularly that help me get to the sound I'm listening for quicker. However I'm still slow and I spend far too much time choosing a reverb, drawing automations, deciding if I need +4 at 3k or 5k, etc... It's all groovy and fun for me so I don't mind that I'm slow. Here are some things that I've learned to do (ITB) that have a significant quality and speed impact on my work:

• Every track gets a channel strip, in my case the API console emulation (uaudio). I've been working with it long enough that I'm proficient with the settings and I can usually get the sound I'm after. It's super handy to have the basic eq, comp, gate, and filters in one place everywhere. Likewise every bus gets the API 2500 compressor. I might swap the drum group comp with a 33609.
• Every bus, fx return, and 2 bus gets either Neve or API summing, a tape emulation and a True Iron plug set to reasonable settings. I go super easy on tape saturation and set variables to 1" and 30ips. This is the baseline I mix into from the start. I'll underscore that it makes a world of difference by mixing into these from the start.
• I used to leave vocals for last. My songs tend to have high track counts and I would spend countless hours on tweaking eqs, levels, and panning on instrumentation that ultimately plays a minor part. Once all that was done I'd do lead vocals. I could still achieve the sound I wanted doing it that way however once I switched to doing the lead instrument (vocals) at the outset it made the rest of the mix work faster. I could pay less attention to secondary and tertiary elements and still achieve the sonic goals I was aiming for.
• Different monitors, different stages of the mix. Setting levels, eq, pan, and initial dynamics will be done on Dynaudio LYD48 in nearfield. Once I'm happy there I'll switch to B&W DM602.5's which are set further back and wider. At this point I'll run through the mix once or twice, and then switch back to the Dynaudio's and run through the mix again. Finally, I'll switch back to the B&W's for a final pass, this time bouncing between the two pairs. The B&Ws are super bright, but I feel like they are a reasonable representation of a lot of end-user systems. Not everyone has silk-domed tweeters.
• I've begun to rely on my ears A LOT more. I'll purposely choose a plugin that has little to no visual feedback so a spectrum analyzer or VU meter doesn't bias me. I'll also close my eyes and hit the bypass button several times until I don't know if it's off or on. Then cycle through off and on and see what I like.
• Clipping is magical but it's a game of inches. For example drums - I'll clip the snare/kick/etc. by 3db, then clip the drum bus by 3db, then clip the master by 3db which if didn't screw up too badly should result several in dbs of 'mostly transparent' gain reduction, which leads to louder final mixes.
• Reference tracks early and often. Maybe less so towards the end of the mix.
• Mostly I would say I'm confident about what I want to hear, and I leave shit alone if it doesn't need anything. I would also say that I'm confident to allow an instrument to poke it's head above everything when it needs to, or allow a resonance that just adds to the flavor. I have a particular sound I like to listen to and I mix for that target.

I'm not going to discuss the immorale things I do to tom tracks.
Finally, garbage in/garbage out. Once I get about 3 plugins deep on a track and I'm still not hearing what I want I'm perfectly willing to either re-record a part myself, or request a better recorded version.
Some of the things I don't pay too much attention to:

• I don't fold to mono very much at all.
• I have Auratones, I don't use them.
• I'm scared of M/S compression.
• I'm scared of multiband compression.

In the end the single biggest takeaway I've got from this subreddit is that if it sounds good to me, it is good. But I had to go through all the steps before that to understand for myself that this is true. Time takes time and after all the years I've spent behind a monitor or console I still get excited when I sit down with a bunch of fresh tracks.

Most of the people I engage with are artists and "producers" who often have no idea what the hell I'm talking about.

This might be a bit controversial here. I love OP and I always will, but I can't help but feel that the story is taking a turn where I'm starting to distance myself a little bit. I liked the idea of Luffy just being a silly little rubber man who's one day going to become the King of the Pirates. I was cool with the D. stuff initially as well. However, if you think about it, Luffy has a LOT of things going for him.

• He's part of one of the most powerful family bloodlines ever (Garp, Dragon)
• Trained by the legendary pirate Rayleigh
• Has one of the most OP devil fruit in the story (NIKA)
• Many people say he is the outright reincarnation of Joyboy (I never really cared for all the JB stuff that much tbh, I would've liked it to be part of the story but it seems like Luffy and Joyboy's identity are pretty much merging or are the same at this point)
• And some other stuff I probably forgot

I would like someone to change my perspective a little. What I love about Luffy is how good of a leader he is, he wins over the hearts of everyone (just like what Mihawk said during Marineford), but this is also something that I'm starting to feel iffy about because of all the Joyboy stuff.
I understand that being a D. and having an OP devil fruit / skills is not everything, bc there are other people like Blackbeard who are the exact opposite so they will have to face down each other at the end, but...

• What about other characters? I would have really liked a different character who would be Luffy's rival and in contention for the title of King of the Pirates, who is not a D. or someone "special" - maybe Kidd, or a character like Shiki.
• We know that Luffy will win in the end.

Furthermore, I don't know how relevant this is but before I got into One Piece I was big into Naruto, and even though I saw it coming, I fucking hated Naruto being the son of the 4th and the child of a Namikaze/Uzumaki in the end. Made his arc less impactful imo. I don't want the same thing to happen in OP.
Thoughts?

The most common criticism I've seen of the game so far from reviewers is that (surprisingly) the story isn't that great. Some of this has to do with the fact that it's obviously setting up a larger story and not the completely story. Personally I was enjoying the story a lot so it could be a potential let down for me but at least I know going into it not to expect a perfect story.

Going to the GI doctor tomorrow and want to make sure I ask the right question and get the answetests I need.
My story. Quit drinking in February due to my anxiety and it helped initially. I had a lot of work and family stress just after I stopped drinking for the next 2 months. In early May I was awoken by stomach pain and heart burn/reflux a few nights in a row. The pain became apparent during the day over the next week and my appetite disappeared. Appetite loss was partly due to my anxiety coming back and me search Dr Google for my systoms. Lost about 5-7lbs because i wasn't eating...
Went to the MD about a week and half ago and had blood tests/abdominal ultrasound. All checked out clear. MD told me to take Omeprazole 20mgs in the morning and 20 mgs at night for a month then let them know how I feel. The Omeprazole has not had much impact other than helping with the daytime pain and leveling my weight loss. I have started with the bland diet but my night time pain is still there most nights (still learning trigger foods).
My main symptoms are still upper left/center abdominal pain, gwaning hunger pains, nausea and loss of appetite. In the middle of the night add some abdominal burning to that symptom list.
Just wanted some advice on what to ask at the GI MD tomorrow.
